At least Namco (And maybe a few of us here) believes it is so. Link to full story: Namco Discuss! |

That is an interesting way to look at things. while they are certainly expensive, the hassle of buying a cheap, slow game and slowly getting more options sounds a bit boring. I'd rather play the whole game through at once and then go to another one personally. thoughts? |

Time does not wait for anyone.

Certainly interesting yes. I agree that games are rather expensive, but if they were to release a game that only gave 4-5 hours of gameplay for 30 dollars, and then release downloadable content later, chances are the downloadable content will cost money itself. So in the end it really doesn't matter because you'd still be paying 50-60 dollars in the end. I'd rather keep things the way they are now and get a game that'll last me for a good few days for 50-60$ than get one that won't last me half a day for 30$. Downloadable content never really did appeal to me, and I usually don't like waiting to play games I really enjoy. Edited by Junsei, May 28 2010, 12:57 AM.

Trust me trust me trust me YEAH!
|
Eh, pretty much this. Chances are that with downloadable content it'll end up costing more than 50-60$ in the end anyway. |

It sounds good, but when you actually go into the details, it's bad. As much as they try to make it sound good, it proves one thing. They care more for the money, and the buyers less. |

eh, i wouldn't say they care about the buyers less, i mean, them wanting to lower the price shows they care at least a little, but they need the money from the games sold to fund the creation of future games. still though, my opinion remains. no downloadz plz. |

That's the thing. It's not about the price. It's about ensnaring the customers to make them pay for more things. Lowering the price attracts buyers, but then they'll be forced to buy DLC to get more out of the games. If that happens, then the buyers will have to end up giving them MORE money, then it would've been as it is now. Edited by Airceltrai, May 28 2010, 11:56 AM.

yeah that's a good point. but if the business does what it's supposed to (mileage may vary) then they put the money to good use for the next game. If they don's though, then yeah it's a total rip off. ![]() the moral of the story... buy from those you you know will make it worth it. |
