Vice President Posts: 50 Group: Admins Member #1 Joined: Jul 23, 2009	Super Smash Brothers Melee Signup This thread is for applying to be in the Smash Brothers League. Make sure you read this thread and this thread before signing up. All you need to do is type in the tag you will be using in the league and your name and any other information pertaining to SSBM. This thread is not for general discussion, random posting, etc. Why not Brawl? I want to address this because there were people at the Involvement Fair that were wondering why we had an older version as the league game rather than the new one. If you look at SmashBoards (the SSB community on the web) you'll see this debate has been raging for a long time. To sum it up, in my opinion -- Melee is the more 'competitive' game. This is because melee is faster, and relies more off of being aggressive while Brawl is slower and has a much more defensive-focused gameplay style. Not to mention, Brawl has stupid gimmicks like the random tripping which are incredibly bad for competitive play since it adds an element of luck rather than skill. Treasurer Posts: 10 Group: Admins Member #4 Joined: Jul 24, 2009	There is a large divide in the Smash Bros. community over which game is the superior product, Melee or Brawl, a debate I won't get into here. It was decided for this event Melee is better. I suppose the only real difference is the particular crowd the game will draw, but I'm happy with the choice of Melee. If you want more info on the fan divide go lurk on the Smash Bros. forums. Don't get me started on the tournament vs. casual play.

As for the melee vs brawl, Corey (Whatcheer) summed it up: go check out smashboards. Also, a tag can only be 4 letters long, so it'd be appreciated if you could come up with one and post it. Thanks.

The thing about melee vs. brawl is that melee is waaay better. The end... BTW there is a brawl tourney coming up at Friendly Fire and people shouldn't forget that.

Because I don't feel like creating an extra topic, should I just bring my copy of Melee during tourney weeks, or should I bring my Gamecube and a memory card as well?
