There was no world needing to be saved; there were no galactic treaties to be amended, no nothing...because Lila would have no excuses from anyone. She was paying for everything and no one could change her mind otherwise. This vacation would be taking place on a planet designed for such pleasantries. Needless to say, Lila treated her friends to a ride to the 'vacation planet' in the Hero... The group had a mansion to themselves. Yes, a mansion. Everything they could possibly imagine for relaxation, entertainment, and overall joy were at the group's disposal.... _____ Razziel was looking for any excuse to deck someone. Any. All the way to the blasted planet, he had been debating with Lila's adopted daughter, Satin, about the efficiency of the newest line of star drives and how to better coordinate the Line. Since they were both prideful beings, the 'debating' hadn't gotten anywhere besides ruffling the both of them. The moment they had touched down, he had stalked off down to the private beach. It was beautiful here...oh, wait. With a snort, Raz headed into the tropical forest that rested alongside the property of the rented mansion. Knowing Aeya, the half-mermaid would take Mikke down into the water. What was she trying to do, turn him into a fish? Whatever. The wind about his swirled and twisted as he stomped further into the trees and plants. _____ Aurora sighed softly as her husband marched away. "I haven't seen him this grumpy in a while...it makes me worry." She shifted the bundle in her arms that was her little newborn daughter, then looked to Meive and Mikke. Lila, who was entering a security code into the mansion's protective system outside the door, looked over to the other men as well. Mikke blinked, then brought up his hands. "Hey now. What makes you think we can cool his hide?" "Trust me", Aurora said with that charming smile of hers. "Us girls are going to get the house settled...right, Aeya? Kita? Girls, did you see the garden out back?" she said in a hinting tone, sending the youngest of their group a wink. Kita pucked out her bottom lip. "Can I go play, tooo? Pleeease? Yay! Come on, I'll race the both of you!" She challenged One and Tara, taking off on the path that lead to the back. Lila chuckled, and the door slid open, and she turned to Meive and Mikke. "Look, even though he's never expressed it, he considers you two his pals. Something is really eating at him, and he can't make the excuse it was just the discussion he and Satin had all the way here," she said as she let Aurora pass her into the expansive hallway. She winked at Meive, then smiled at Cel and Kerin. "I suggest grabbing a room while you can!" she slung an arm around Aeya's shoulders, leading her inside. "Tea sounds nice, huh? Don't worry, I'll let you go play in the water a little later..." Alone with Meive, Mikke rubbed the back of his head. "Basically, I think she said 'this is a guy thing, go do your guy stuff'? Well, maybe by the time we get to him he'll be partially cooled off..." he began to head off in the direction of the forest, not exactly looking forward to whatever was causing Raz's unexpected rage. |

Meive had become accustomed to the 'debate' between Raz and Satin, since raising a young sister, ignoring trivial jabber was one of his strengths. He felt pity for his friends who didn't find it quite so easy, as he watched Cel furrow his brow every so often, his teal eyes squeezed close like he was trying to sleep. Once they finally landed on the gorgeous paradise they would be staying at, the young man watched his friend storm off, wind bustling around behind him. A part of him cringed at the sight, knowing that something was definitely poking at him a little harder than a small debate. Lila's words filtered into his thoughts, and once more, he felt himself cringing. His emerald eyes stole a glance at Mikke as he watched the youth mimic him. This was not how he wanted to spend his vacation. Aeya glanced to Mikke quickly before allowing the woman to lead her inside. There was no sense arguing, and although she would've much rather go swimming, the idea of tea was still intriguing. Leaving the reach of Lila, the young half-mermaid took the lead into finding the kitchen as she wondered what flavours of tea were readily available for them to have. As Meive watched the door slide closed in front of him, he turned to Mikke and sighed, “This was not how I wanted to start our vacation....but if we have no choice...” Together they both began trekking in the direction Raz had stormed off, each in their own thoughts. Meive could understand some of where Raz's stress was coming from, since being thrown into the role of father was not something anyone should take lightly. Not that Meive had any worries that the youth wouldn't make a great dad, but he was sure it was more than that. He could feel stress on the situation building in his stomach as he sighed again, “Why do we have to do this again? Guys aren't like girls....we don't tend to talk about our feelings...” Kerin disappeared from Cel's side the second they stepped inside. He knew she was finding somewhere for them to stay in the huge mansion, and he was glad to see her perky exuberant attitude. The youth on the other hand was still not entirely comfortable in the presence of the others, even after what they'd been through, but there was no way he could deny Kerin this opportunity. Slowly, he followed the others, in particular Aeya who was heading towards the kitchen to begin the process of tea. The size of the kitchen seemed a little overdone, it being able to fit at least twenty people comfortably, but it was nice to think that there was plenty of counter space to cook on. He moved towards the bar, and sat down in one of the stools, his eyes staring at the young woman in front of him distantly. It was only a matter of minutes before Kerin would pop up again, so there was nothing for him to really do but wait. In the far reaches of the enormous house, he could hear echoes of his companions' voices, excited and jovial that quickly faded to that background when the quiet singing of the young woman interrupted. Breaking out of his thoughts, he let his teal eyes focus on the half-mermaid, listening intently to her song. He knew that she hadn't noticed him, which was probably why she was singing just above a whisper. The melody was oddly familiar, but he had no idea from where. Aeya filled the tea kettle with water and set it on the burner, turning it on high, so that they would only be waiting about 30 seconds for the water to heat up. She enjoyed the old-fashioned feel of the place, as she felt it added to the relaxing element. Searching the cabinets, she began singing a song her mother had taught her when she was young. It was in a language that her mother hadn't even known, but had told her a strange old man had taught her it when she'd been young. When the mugs finally appeared, she grabbed an arm load and placed them on the granite counter top in a line. The whistling alerted her to the water being ready, as she turned on her heel to look for the tea. Immediately, her sapphire eyes went wide, and her lips closed, as Cel's presence became known. Both stared at one another intensely, as the young woman didn't know what to do. Finally, Cel broke the awkwardness and stood up. In the background, they could both hear Kerin's voice echoing along the tall open corridors. Turning to leave, the youth paused in the doorway and glanced back at her, “You sing that song very well.” His disappeared around the corner a second later, leaving Aeya staring at the empty space, a slight blush on her face. |

Mikke walked with his hands tucked in his pockets, finding it rather easy to follow after Raz, seeing as how many a plant had snapped leaves and what not. "That's true. I guess we could just punch him and be done with it. Or...something." He, too, was aware of the stress Raz was possibly under with him being a father. Wait....being a father...Mikke paused, and glanced to Meive. "Hey, that reminds me...just as we left Earth's orbit, Raz got a call. He stepped out into the corridor, but when I passed him, he sounded really flustered. I think that freaky race he is a part of is giving him trouble about the baby. Maybe that's why he's so ticked off." Mikke shrugged, then picked up the pace, suddenly a little worried. "Hopefully he'll blast enough trees to get over it. I just hope he doesn't run into a person or anything."

For a moment, Meive froze in his tracks as Mikke's words sunk in. After all this time, his people were just now going to give him trouble. It did make sense though, since Raz was the 'leader' of his race. In reality, the youth could understand where his anger was coming from, because he would feel the same way if he were in his shoes. Not hesitating any longer, he quickly caught up with the Avian, and looked ahead waiting to see any signs of their troubled friend. Minutes passed by when suddenly a freight train sound thundered through the air around them, as the wind quickly stirred up before dying away. Both young men knew that it had been Raz, and all they could do was hope that no one else was nearby. Meive glanced over to Mikke, and together they took off in the direction they thought it came from. Come now Raz, let's not lose it now... ________________________________________________________ Aeya felt flustered. And like a child. In reality, being overheard by someone while singing wasn't that terrible a thing, but the way he had acted towards her was what made it feel weird. In what she knew from Cel, he was a rather distant and stand offish type of person. The only one to really hold any connection with him was Karin...until now. Somehow him hearing that song had created some odd bond. And the young mermaid wasn't sure if it was a good thing or a bad thing. But she couldn't dwell on it for long, as she quickly set up tea. “Tea!!” Her voice echoed throughout the house to alert her friends. Without waiting for them to arrive, she grabbed her mug and walked towards the sliding door leading to the porch. The backyard was enormous, and gorgeous as exotic plants and flowers lined the rich green grass. This was something she was definitely excited about. Spending time with her friends...and Mikke made everything seem surreal. Once her mind settled on him, a spark of worry crossed over her as she thought about what they were doing. All she could do was hope that they would return soon, and with a much happier Raz. |

How could they do this to him? Now, of all times? Of course, they had decided to pounce on him just weeks after his first child had been born. The wind whipped around him, tearing at the branches of the trees. If they thought they could take his child...oh, were they wrong...! Another branch cracked and fell, just close enough to him to snap him out of his haze enough for him to blink and see the destruction around him. Plants were uprooted, branches large and small were every, leaves still fluttered to the ground...with a sigh, Raz sat down against a large rock, and the wind died down to a comforting breeze. He wasn't sure what to do yet. But he knew Aurora and his child were safe here, at least. They wouldn't be found. That's when he heard the footsteps. He didn't look around, though. One, he wasn't sure who it was. Two, he was surprised anyone would bother to follow him. But it hit him that Aurora could have. She shouldn't be wandering around alone! He turned, ready to berate the foolishness, only to pause. Mikke...and Meive? Okay. Now he was really surprised. After Ayea had left her, Lila had been sidetracked to the entertainment room. There was a big screen, with a hologram guide beside it that listen all the games that were installed and how they could be voice-activated. Seeing the newest version of Dance Dance Revolution, she grinned. She'd have to let Tara and One know of it. But what got her attention were the personal computer. Supposedly the newest of the new. Curious, she sat down, and it powered up the moment she did. Satin and her friend, Mar, constantly kept the Hero updated with technologies greater than even the newest had to offer at times. So it wasn't often she got to explore something not touched by them. Of course, the captain soon became engrossed. She soon was sucked into the galactic news... Aurora had detoured up a short flight of stairs to the second floor, holding her wrapped child in her arms with care. She tried not to worry too much about Raz; she knew Mikke and Meive would, somehow, make him feel better. Even if Meive made him mad about something else other than what he was currently upset with, it would be welcome. She toured some of the rooms, but was drawn to one in particular. It was a nice suite-like room, but it was the cool colors that drew her in. The master bed was lovely, and the huge tub, the mini living room...smiling, she knew this was the room she would nab for her and Raz. She knew he'd deal with anything she choose, even if it had been pink with yellow polka dots. Returning to the door, she faced the small panel set above the door handle. "Aurora, Raz and Jasmyne," she said clearly. The panel blinked, then their names appeared. She had to fix the spelling with Jasmyne, and then nodded in approval as Aeya's voice swept up the stairs and into the hallway she was in. Huh, interesting acoustics! Jasmyne began to fuss, her little face bunching up. As Aurora headed down the stairs, she sang softly to her child, rocking her a bit. Her voice may not have been anything like Aeya's, but it had a smooth quality to it that Jasmyne seemed to love. As long as she didn't try any high notes, Aurora considered herself pretty average. She was finishing the song in a hum when she met up with Aeya in the kitchen, then smiled as she watched the girl head out onto the porch. Somehow she managed to juggle both child and a cup of tea of her own before joining Aeya, though she was quick to sit at the neat little round table that was there. "Try not to worry too much," she offered, as if she knew exactly what Aeya was thinking. "They'll be okay. Then you can give Mikke more swimming lessons," she winked, managing to set the cup down. Jasmyne thought something was funny, for she giggled sweetly, her little fists coming to swing up into the air. It was as if the wondrous smells of the garden were giving her a surge of energy. |

Aeya could feel the blush creeping up her face at Aurora's comment. The young woman was delighted at the thought of going swimming with Mikke, but she also knew that it was going to take some work to convince him to get into the water. A smile lit up her face at the picture of his awkwardness of the element, but she was sure he'd give in...eventually. Breaking free of her humorous thoughts she turned her attention to the young baby girl in Aurora's arms. Her chubby fingers grabbed at something only the infant could see. It was a heart melting sight, and Aeya couldn't help but want to pinch the baby's cheeks—which of course she didn't. “She is such a well behaved baby...she has to get it from you, because I just can't imagine that Raz was that happy and placid as an infant...” The image the half-mermaid conjured up in her mind was so bizarre that she knew there was no way Raz was like his daughter. With this in mind, her thoughts quickly shifted back over to the problem at hand. She was not incredibly close with Aurora, so she was not capable of reading the young woman's expression and body language, so there was no way for her to see whether or not the young woman was concerned over her husband's behavior and scene from earlier. Because of this, she kept her mouth shut on the subject, and figured that if her friend needed to talk about it, she would be the one to bring it up. Drifting back into thought, her mind returned to the scene from earlier in the kitchen. Cel had hardly ever said anything to her, and then all of a sudden, he complimented her. But it wasn't so much of the odd behavior of the compliment, but the feeling that there was something more too it. She had seen the look in his eyes as he spoke, and she had no idea what it meant. This was only going to make this vacation more awkward. This is not how I wanted things to start out... ______________________________________________________ Meive broke into the clearing and his emerald eyes instantly fell upon the red haired youth. The first emotion he saw was fury, which quickly changed to surprise at the sight of him and Mikke coming into the ravaged area. He didn't know what exactly was going on, but from what Mikke had told him about what he'd overheard on their trip something was definitely going on that Raz hadn't told them about. And with the destruction he could see from the clearing he was in, it wasn't good. “Hey Raz, are you alright?” It was the only thing he could think of saying, which was pretty lame...but he was going to have to live with it now. He just hoped Raz was willing to open up a little, because it would not only help the youth, but everyone else as well. |

Aurora laughed softly, a musical sound all in itself. "She is both me and Razziel. She does have her flaring moments, which I am sure will come to show more as she grows. But nature seems to calm her..." she trailed off, and smiled as she noticed the half-mermaid drift off in thought. Letting the other woman dwell there, Aurora gently rocked her child, who's brows had knitted together, as if she were thinking, too. In fact, she was. Her hand reached out toward the flowers, and her face suddenly lit up and a cheerful, gurgling laugh left her pale, soft lips. Aurora watched, eyes widening slightly, as a flower's stem expanded quickly and grew, snaking majestically up over the railing and onto the table to come and hover above Jasmyne, it's petals expanding sweetly. Jasmyne reached up for it, but instead of grabbing it and crushing it, she was careful with how she touched it. She began to make all sorts of noises, as if talking to the flower. As she did, the flower itself seemed to get more and more vibrant and beautiful. Aurora watched all this, not sure what to make of it, then smiled. What else to expect from the child of two Terrain's? Especially with the blood of Razziel's race. ___ Seeing Mikke and Meive there seemed to shock Raz. He wasn't sure what to make of it, wasn't sure what to do about it. First, he took in a deep breath. He didn't want to hurt them on accident, even if they were both trained to defend themselves, he didn't want it to happen either way. Raz was a naturally closed person, but at the moment, he was all but an open book. Anger, bitter anger, still flashed in his eyes. He sat on a dislodged tree trunk, but his fists clenched. "Those bastards...they want to take my child for 'observation' and 'study'," he growled, somehow mastering down his flare of anger, though the breeze did take to a bit of a sudden gust. Mikke glanced at Meive, ruffling his wings for a moment before he came to sit on the other side of Raz. In comparison, Mikke felt he would be turned to mush in a hand-to-hand combat situation, if it ever came to it. Raz was much more built that he, his armor just adding to it. Armor he never seemed to take off. "We would never let that happen," he offered, but his voice held no misleading. Of course, they would never let a child go into the hands of a people that have turned sour due to past events, that could not be trusted under the best of circumstances anymore. |

This...was not good. Meive could feel his own anger rising steadily inside him as the news sunk in. Taking someone's child was never okay...but to observe and 'study' them made it all the worse. After Mikke sat on the other side of Raz, Meive moved to lean against the fallen tree, his emerald eyes staring straight ahead. It was a tough situation, one that he had no idea how to help with. Oh well for a peaceful vacation.... Stirring from his thoughts Meive looked over to his red haired friend, “Do they know where we are?” A plan was already beginning to form in his mind, although whether it would be a success would remain a mystery. Of course, this all depended on what their new enemy had as far as information. If they were still trying to locate them, it might be safer for them to remain here a few more days...and maybe reinforce the place a little... _____________________________________________________________ Cel stood in front of the large window, his teal eyes staring out at the two women who roamed the porch in the back. The green scenery was gorgeous, and it made the young man yearn for his home that he had not seen since he was a small child. With this thought in mind, his turned to focus on the young woman he knew to be Aeya. Her voice still echoed in the back of his thoughts. Karin walked up behind the tall youth and wrapped her arms around him, resting her head on his back. She cherished the contact, although she knew that he was probably cringing at it. For a brief moment, she felt his back grow rigid, but instead of his usual prying her off of him, the awkwardness continued. This was the first sign that something was not quite right, and she was sure to point it out. Pulling away from him, she leaned around him and watched his face closely, “What's wrong Cel?” _____________________________________________________________ Aeya watched the baby astonished, as the plant seemed to thrive from her very sounds. It was adorable and surprising at the amount of power the child had at such a young age, but realizing who her parents were, maybe it shouldn't have been. Looking away, she finished off her tea before turning back to take a look at the house. “Hey Aurora, I think I'm going to go explore the gardens some more, so I'll be back later.” With a quick smile, the half-mermaid moved back inside the house, put her mug in the sink and moved to another door that led outside on the opposite side of the place. Swinging open the french doors, she was stunned by the scenery. The garden here was even more breathtaking than the one she had just been in, if that seemed possible. I don't ever want to leave this place. All I need is this located right off of the coast and it would be paradise!! As this thought coursed through her mind, she quickly strode through the lush green yard until the crunching of stones reached her ears. |
