Sprint tipped to begin offering Wi-Fi calling on select Android phones One feature that T-Mobile has become known for is its Wi-Fi calling support, which allows consumers with compatible hardware to conduct voice calls over a Wi-Fi connection rather than the cellular network. While it's not a feature that we hear about very often, it's something that can come in handy in areas with weak coverage. Apparently Sprint has recognized just how useful Wi-Fi calling can be... http://www.phonedog.com/2014/01/16/sprint-tipped-to-begin-offering-wi-fi-calling-on-select-android-phones/ ShadowDancer

As a Sprint customer, I know it's much better. however, I've said it before and I will say it again, I am totally against sprint buying Tmobile. Sprint has massive, massive amounts of spectrum. customers will come/come back to them regardless. Tmobile has nothing of value to offer other than customers they purchased by discounts/etf fee payoffs etc.. If I've ever seen a bubble, it is the current Tmobile. The "millions" of customers they are adding will not stay. I am afraid Sprint will end up over paying and get nothing in return. Sprint has a very high ARPU, and Tmobiles is very low. Their customers are not worth buying for that reason. |

I hope it gets passed on to the MVNO's as well, and quickly. From Ting, Freedom Pop and the rest, they have a good chance of some quick growth. But lets hope it doesn't come at the cost of no profit like at T-Mobile.. They grow like crazy last quarter and still lose big money. Sprint shrunk and made a little. |

As Sprint continues to roll out their LTE network, and then blows the competition away with the Tri Band Spark speed, I feel they will gain back a lot of customers. Hopefully not only at T-mobiles expense, though that would be fine. But I really hope they chip away from ATT and Verizon. Sprint has such a huge advantage in spectrum, the future really looks good for them. I see good things happening. |
