* If anyone has any more ideas, thoughts or questions about these polls, feel free to post it all here ... thanks. * I have been thinking about this idea for awhile now, and I decided to go ahead and give it a try, and see how it goes. * I'm putting up a Poll / Survey (simple questions and answers) on top of Turk Forums for Entertainment Purposes only. * Simple questions will be asked followed by simple answers to choose from, then you can watch the on going results. * These Poll questions will be about anything, not just phone stuff, and it's for everyone to enjoy, members and guests. * There will be a Poll question asked about once a week, and I would like for Forum Members to participate if they'd like. * So, if you would like to participate, just send me a (PM) message with the simple poll question and 2-4 simple answers. * Don't worry, all posted polls will be anonymous, I will not say who's poll it is that is put up for that week, fair enough? * Ps: I want to stay away from Poll questions that deal with Politics and Religion ... * Okie dokie ... after a few weeks of trial and error, I have a few things to say about the Famous Turk Forums Polls. * The Polls will mostly be a weekly poll -- running from Monday through Saturday, depending on what's going on. * There will be no polls on Sunday, to give a day break/rest from the poll, until the next new poll starts on Monday. * I will mix the poll questions up, one week polling about this, next week polling about that, while mixing in phone polls. * Also, I will ask poll questions according to what's going on in the world or in our country at that time ... for example: > 2 weeks ago I polled about the Olympics, last week polled a phone question, this week about schools starting, etc. ----------------------------- * Also, when you Vote, and then click on the Results button, the poll results should just show up on the Forum only. * It may take you to another Site to show you the results, if it does it means you have your browser settings on high security. * Feedback Please: are the poll results showing up on here, or are they taking you to another Site to see the results? Hi Turk, I have my Internet Security set on "Medium." In fact, those are my default settings, and no, I'm not being taken to another site.... I see the responses on this site. Hope that helps . . . ShadowDancer

Hey Turk, All I can add is that I checked on both Firefox and Google Chrome (which are the only browsers I use), and they both show me the results here in the same window as you vote... So I hope that helps too.

Howdy Turk, For me and my computer, the poll results show up on here right after you hit the result button. It doesn't take me to a different page... Hope this also helps you out. By the way, my wife and I both like the poll idea you added to your forum and we both voted on all your polls so far. My wife never really comes on here, she lets me do all the work dealing with our phones. But, she is always asking me now "what's the poll question for this week!"  Good job with the polls, Turk, my wife is a fan.

Turk, Just FYI, when I use FireFox and have the add-on NoScript enabled it blocks Java scripts from running and the Poll results do open in another window or tab taking me away from your site. If I allow all the scripts on your web site (by turning the NoScript off for your web page) then everything works fine and the results open in the same web page. So, if someone else complains about that problem, the first thing you should ask is "Are you using FireFox, and do you have the NoScript add-on or any other add-on that would prevent Java scripts from running on your web page." |

* annepani .... I have the poll comments turned off ... so that is why you can't post a comment about the polls. * I have always had them turned off for each poll only because... 1. I didn't think anyone was really interested in leaving a comment? 2. I didn't want to have to put up with people leaving stupid comments like: > "this question sucks" .. or .. "these polls suck" .. or .. "Turk, you suck" (LOL) * I can turn the comment section on, but it has to be for each individual poll ... and it has to be turned on from the * beginning of that poll when I make it up ... Hi Turk and annepani, After I voted, I clicked on "Comments," and later, I clicked on "Results" and then clicked on "Comments." Both times, I was taken to a new webpage: http://www.learnmyself.com/personality.asp?p=poll-results&qp=7080xe9B451da-1 And, on the webpage, it read: Microsoft OLE DB Provider for ODBC Drivers error '80040e14' [Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver][SQL Server]Incorrect syntax near the keyword 'ORDER'. /code/_poll.asp, line 914 Looks like something is incorrect, but it's beyond me........ * Ok Turk fans, I have some "poll news" to pass along to you all ... * Last year when I started putting polls on here, the polls were part of a website called: http://www.learnmyself.com/ * It was a website where you can take IQ tests, take brainy quizes, make polls, etc ... and the polls always worked fine. * Then about 3 months ago, learnmyself.com parted ways with the poll making section, and now it's on it's own site. * The new site for making the polls was now on: http://www.poll-maker.com/ * Anyway, since the polls went to it's own new site, there has been problems with the polls working correctly on here. * And, just this week, the latest poll quit working completely on Tuesday, so I removed it from the forum, if you noticed. * Now, that poll site seems to be acting up, and it won't let you make a poll, seems as if the site has been abandoned? * Over the last 6 months, I have tried out a bunch of other poll making sites as well, and I didn't really like any of them. * Soooooo, long story short ... if that poll site never recovers, I may end up stop making polls for here, just saying..  * To be continued..... Glad to see the polls are working again... However, with the end of school year poll I would have added a third choice saying "I don't have any kids and am too old to go to school so I don't really notice".
