Sandra Dillon
Finally. It was her first day to be out and about the town and Sandra could hardly hold in her excitement. Her new life was about to begin. Well, maybe it had started the day she left the city but she wasn't going to be picky. She was in her new home and her new town. She had to get out and meet people!

Sandra walked into the saloon, feeling free and sure of herself. She and her family had gotten into town only a few days ago but this was the first time that Sandra really got to get out and explore. She wanted to see if she could find anyone worthy of becoming her friend and although she knew better, the saloon called to her. She had never been to one before and now that she had the chance, she wanted to know what it was like. And in a town this small, nothing was likely to happen to her.

As she entered, she noticed how few people there were. Small groups, no more than four in each, were sitting around tables. She noticed that they were mostly men but there were a few women in the place. Still feeling alright, she walked over to a table and sat down to people watch. If she was ever going to be able to walk up to someone, a stranger, and start a conversation, she needed to at least know how people acted around here and see if there was anyone that she would feel okay talking too.

Tressa Mae
Sneaking into the saloon through a side door, Tressa made her way into the main room of the building. She knew she was most likely to be caught but on the other hand, she didn't really mind. She was always hearing good tales in here and whether or not her father found out she was going to continue to come here. At least until she found something better to do. Which at the moment, she could care less about going out. Everywhere she went it seemed like she would see that Jimmy Dee. She sighed. She had to stop thinking about him like that.

As she walked into the big room, she frowned at the lack of people there. Usually the place was filled with people, wanting to drink or play games or simply get away. This was unusual. But someone caught her eye. Tressa spied a woman walking across the room to an empty table. A new face. Or so it seemed. She tried to think back over the past couple of days. She thought she may recall a family moving in but she didn't remember this one.

Walking over to the woman, Tressa placed a smile on her face. "Hello," she said, placing her self not directly across from her but slightly to the side. "May I have a seat?"

Looking about still, Sandra noticed that not much was going on either. She had expected something at least to be happening. At least soemthing that she could watch and be entertained with.

Sandra looked up, startled, as a young woman approached her. "Take of seat? Of course," she said, returning the friendly smile. She looked her over for a moment as she took a seat. She wasn't much younger than herself, maybe a few years or so. She let the silence hang in the air for a few moments before she cleared her throat. She came here to meet people, so she better get to it.

"My name is Sandra," she said, giving a small smile. "I'm new here. My family just moved here from one of the cities back east." It was a start she hoped.

Tressa Mae
Tressa tried to look elsewhere as the silence stretched on. She didn't want to be rude and stare. But as the woman introduced herself as Sandra, Tressa looked at her. "It's very nice to meet you. My name is Tressa. Tressa Mae." She looked thoughtful for a moment. "I wish I could say I was new here, seeing as I would be able to dismiss a lot of the stuff going on but that's not the case. Welcome to Tugme Flatts, Ms Sandra."

She nodded her head at the room. "There is usually a bigger crowd in here but not today. I don't know why that is but it certainly hinders you from meeting more people here today." She smiled at another person as they walked in the door. "On the other hand, there are plenty of people around town that I'm sure you would get along fine with."

Listening to the girl, Sandra heard something that disturbed her. Something was going on in this town that was making a long time local upset? That was never good news, no matter how you looked at it. If Tressa was genuinly upset about this, then perhaps she would be able to share the tale. "What's going on, if you don't mind me asking," Sandra started cautiously. "Are you saing that there is trouble here in town? Or the surrounding area?"

A creeping feeling overtook her. What if it was outlaws? How exciting and frightening that would be. She wasn't going to let her imagination run away though. It was probably somehting as simple as a dry season or cattle missing. That seemed to be the extent of anything exciting happening in this small town, despite Tressa's claim that there were usually more people here in the saloon. It was hard to believe.
