These are the role-play rules of this board. You are perfectly free to do what you want on your own time, IG or elsewhere. But in an attempt to keep everyone on the same page here, there will be a simple layout of rules to follow.
The lovely Character A and Character B will be my assistants today. A round of applause for them.
- No auto-hitting, aka, metagaming. If for whatever reason character A is fighting character B, or simply wanting to harass character B, do not assume that your character A will get a hit/smack/poke/kiss whatever on character B, just because you typed it. It is up to the player of character B whether or not they choose to receive the action.
- No auto-killing, aka, godmoding. Obviously, this is in the same vein as auto-hitting. Just because character A can shoop the fire bolt doesn't mean you get to one-hit kill character B. That just isn't very nice or tactful.
- Be fair and realistic. For sake of role-play, sometimes the flashy animations and skills in-game need to be toned down... just a little. Just because character B knows the skill 'Thunderstorm', does not mean they need to be calling down the heavens for a nuke a city with lightning. It's just not very nice or probable.
- Be fair and realistic part B. Deities. Erinn is home to many goddesses. And if one is to take it at face value of Celtic mythology, there are many, many more gods and goddesses. Just like it's unnecessary for a magician to call down the heavens, likewise, it's unnecessary for a priest to call down the wrath of Morrighan to strike a plague about the masses. Or for mass resurrection. Or whathaveyou.
- Be true to the setting. Characters A and B live in a slightly wonky medieval setting. Electricity, cellphones, hot running water, advanced medicine, and cheeseburgers do not exist. Make use of your torches and oil lamps, corsets and bloomers, and magical communication. Or if we're to understand communication via the G1 quest: Making other people run between cities for you. HOWEVER! As a Millitian, it is understandable that a character might be from a place with these items. But for the most part it seems Millitians lose their memories of their previous lives--so do not dwell on them too much. As well, try to avoid. "Before I lived in Dunbarton, I lived in New Jersey/Japan/magical land of random animé/Mortal Kombat land." Just try to keep to the setting. The extras are too distracting.
* Last note, relating to the power rules. If you -have- a character with potentially powerful magic: That's fine. If you want to use it though, please PM an admin first, so we can assess the situation and give you a thumbs up or thumbs down. This applies to arcane, holy, and crazy melee as well.
...That's all I can think of. Just play nice with others! If you have any ideas or thoughts I can add or detract from this, send me a PM.
