With the FunPatch we are changing units, buildings, civs, shipments, adding taunts etc. But wouldn't it be nice to add some new maps? Who here wants to give it a try and make a new map? You will of course be credited for it. With new maps I mean new Random Maps, and not new scenario's. This means you'll have to script, and it's not very easy. In fact if you want to create a completely new map it'll very difficult to do. But you can of course use some existing maps as a baseline. I once had made a map that was some sort of GP with the Decan plateau, I don't know if I still have it somewhere (bought a new comp). If you want to try it out, see this site. Look complicated, doesn't it? That's why I think it's better if you start with modifying existing maps. Good luck and have fun! |

hai guise, as saffah was saying something about being able to make maps that do 2v2v2 and stuff! we should maek some of those if anyone knows how. I might give Random maps a shot for the hell of it and see if it works

sun get two files open that are similar then just delete bits and copy them from the other file see what happens i had a go but it didnt show up when you wanted to select a map |

it took me a great amount of time to make a map you have to do test every change you make to see the effects, so you sort them out if it goes wrong (what happens 90% of the time) best thing is to use a normal map and just modify it a bit, Try looking at different map files for the script they use to make certain things. Thats all i can say. If you have specific problems you can also post them at HG, they are expert in this kind of stuff. @ Sami, plz post your awesome idea, maybe i am gonna make another map later. |

ok, what I was doing, i took himalayas map and tried to make it weird skins with lots of elephants and turkeys and different natives lol... the site has a section on how to debug/test a map script which is what I was attempting to do, but it failed ![]() I'll try again and see if it works lol xD Also baert, an idea for a map, IMO you should first off make it land because water is kinda happy in FFA IMHO. OP, I actually sort of figured out how this stuff works ![]() Made a map as well. Well, two maps really, but they are equal except that one has a Silk Road-type Trade Route and one has a normal Trade Route. Its basically a cave map with cramped corridors, tons of coin (including some OP rock mines from the campaign), decent ammounts hunts (tapirs and turkeys) but no forests, so you need to get wood from TPs/shipments/ageup. Theres a Trade Route in the middle with 4-6 posts, depending on the number of player. I think India and Brits will be kinda UP on this map, but the rest is ok lol. It looks OPest in 1v1 and 2v2, but works for FFA too (the cramped corridors arent as cramped in FFA though, but that might be a good thing actually). I made it for funpatch but it works on RE as well. If you have any other ideas though (that arent completely impossible to make) please tell me
