[[This happens after Solan's before Coatl's]] Frost looked back at Solan and smiled; "The difference isn't much, a side-kick can also mean partner. Friends, although it means more, can be one and same as a side-kick. But sometimes a side-kick is just a partner in on something that isn't necessarily a friend but means well to the person or persons they are involved with. I think what Boris meant was as a joke because your so young you may as well be my side-kick." He chuckled a little bit before handing the boy some of the exotic dragon fruit Eljiah had brought. |

Boris sheepishly glanced over his shoulder into the white siberian tigress' eyes and saw compassion within them. He forced a faint smile to cover his embarrassment, "Thank you, Kitz-Ka," he quietly said in Russian. He purposely kept that under his breath and only for her ears. As he listened to the winged lizard's story he glanced around the table at the people taking interest in the tale. His mind, as usual, was a flurry of activity processing various different ideas and concepts while he found the story unfolding fascinating. The ole badger's posturing became more at ease as it dawned on him that no one pointed fingers at his blunder with the wine glass. No person whispered or snickered quietly at the table at his social awkwardness. He was more comfortable because he intuitively assumed, by watching all of the people congregated here at this banquet, that each of them felt out of place too. Everyone here had there own insecurities they were dealing with just like him. It didn't lessen his embarrassment, but it was minorly soothing to know. That rationalization really caused the images within his mind to swirl. All these people with unique personalities, as well as, unique powers all brought together under one roof to break bread and drink together. What were the chances of that happening? A more interesting question to pose was why? His mind drifted in and out of deep thought as he listened to Coatl finish telling her story. Edited by Boris, February 5, 2010, 11:20 pm.

The reason for Solan not even having thought of pointing fingers at Boris was as easy as could be - he was still too busy trying to figure the whole side-kick business out. Which was also what busied him during Coatl's telling the story of her pendant. To the latter he could contribute nothing. But he kept quiet as not to disturb anyone who tried to give their explaination. However, he did not touch the fruit Elijiah had brought, even though Frost was offering. He sniffed at it curiously for a moment or two, but eventually decided against having a bite. His eyes moved to the huge creature that had brought the fruit as a gift, obviously. The boy found it hard to glance away. When he eventually managed he had another question for Frost: "Comparing ages would make me... family." Solan had an odd way to pronounce the last word. As if the concept alone was very hard to grasp. "If a side-kick can be a friend or a person generally benevolent towards the subject of the word - then that would exclude the option of a side-kick being a brother. Or son." |

"For the most part, yes it does. I see you as a brother so therefore you can not be a mere side-kick. Don't stress so much over it tho. It was just a playful joke, no harm and no foul meant by it." Frost responded. |

Boris dug into the food that was prepared by Kalinda with vigor, as his voracious appetite was hard to conceal. As he finished the last morsels of turkey, potatoes, gravy and hot buttery rolls, he grasp the large stone bowl. With the last remaining remnants of tea left within the mortar, he stood up and lifted it upwards with both paws. In a deep gruff accent, "To Kalinda's bountiful harvest feast!" Without pausing to take a breath he continued, "We all appreciate your hard work and labor to make this gathering a special occasion for one and all!" |

Finding it better not to respond to Frost Solan looked at the badger and tiltet his head again. He mimiced his gesture with his own plate, only without saying a word. |

Noticing the child looking his way Elijia returned a big toothy smile. He liked kids, this one in particular felt different though. He was less a child and more like a old lost soul. The Dragon shook the feeling off sipping the wine. it was against his order to drink to heavily. He tried to get Gail's attention and once he did he asked quietly for a big glass of milk, pushing the wine glass aside. (OOC: This post is a wincy pit out of order I think you guys can figure out where in the story it goes (: ) |

The conversation that Elijia had with Roberts new Summon buzzed in his head. He thought maybe it would help if another dragon (Well, as close to a dragon as he could muster) also attended. He got up form the table and went outside, the older woman following in toe and whistled into the air. With a loud thump the Jabberwocky landed in the snow showering Robert and everything else with white powder. He shook hands with their new companion and all three of them walked inside. The Jabberwocky carried with him a faint smell of oil, each of his michanical parts buzzing quietly both inside and outside of his skin. "Va lets be getting dis party zarted!" He announced, standing behind Robert as the summoner returned to his seat. |

Dan looked up shortly after the toast to hear the announcement of the oh-so-familiar mechanical dragon. "You know that's not a bad idea." He pulled a small device out of his coat pocket, the coat was slung along the back of the chair haphazardly when he had first walked in, and turned it on. It resembled a cellphone in size but once powered up that's where it lost all resemblance to a phone; a pop up 3-D solid-light display appeared in full color. Dan put his finger on an icon shaped like a music note and the note expanded size and switched to a new screen displaying what appeared to be file names. He went to a side file and moved his finger in a 'U' shape which instantly started playing a mix of technotronic and pop music. "Now that dinner's complete a little celebration would do us wonders don't ya think?" He grinned; "Besides beats last year where I ended up spending Harvest Day alone." |

Frost ignored the racoon's obvious remark about how he had spent last year's holiday; although everyone had gathered together for Yule Dan still had not forgiven Frost for not inviting him out on Harvest Day last year. Instead the white wolf got up and invited Boris to some dancing, after seeing him put on the moves at Disaster on more then a few occasions since the vampire incident had blown over, he'd make a better dance partner then anyone else Frost thought. "Come on Boris...lets show them how these kids how to enjoy themselves." He held his hand out to the badger's large claws and pulled the man to his feet, being careful not to get cut by encasing his hand in a small sheet of ice for protection. |
