"I second that notion!" Dan smiled as he tipped the drink back and then prepared himself for a feast.

Micha had eyed the glass of wine with suspicion since it had been set down in front of her, sniffing it once or twice and admiring its deep red color. She remained silent still feeling much the outsider among this group of friends, but that seemed to suit her just fine, as every other roll she took ended up in her satchel. But when the a toast was proposed, the young snow leopard turned to watch the others take their glasses, and downing the contents. She followed suit draining it in one gulp, immediately starting to feel light headed... |

Silently Solan drank his wine, by no means surprised that he had even got it. Probably because he had no comparison to draw. When he had downed it he felt dizzy somewhat. He decided that he would not have wine again. Ever. Feeling dizzy wasn't good. There was something else that interested him though. "What is this... sidekick?", he asked Frost. Obviously the boy had never even touched a comic book. |

| Boris | February 5, 2010, 12:18 am Post #35 |

As the toast was given, Boris gave a quick motion toward the glass of wine to pick it up. He miscalculated by just an inch and his razor-sharp claws sliced through the glass causing the dark crimson liquid to splatter the table cloth. The badger had a grimaced look of despair and his eyes shifted downward after glancing around the table. He then slowly and methodically placed his clumsy paws back into his lap. He enjoyed being around people, but had rarely sat and ate with others. Even in The Underground, he had always cloistered himself away from prying eyes to slice into a soup can using his claws. He would then slurp the nutrious contents from the metal container. That was just a way of life for him. This fancy, yet delicate, display of food was very foreign to him, and he was beginning to feel out of place here. With a raised eyebrow, he got an idea and began rummaging through his haversack that was slung over his shoulder. This rustic looking leather bag carried all of his herbs, poultices, elixirs, potions and teas for curing those with ailments. He pulled out a large, stone mortar that was normally used for grinding up herbs for remedies. However, at the moment this sturdy stone bowl was big enough to allow him to wrap his paws around it without fear of his claws hitting something and breaking it. He plopped it down on the table with a resounding thud. Boris then daintily picked up the spiced tea sitting before him and dumped it into the mortar. With a smile of satisfaction he wrapped his paws around it and picked it up. He took a small sip of the aromatic brew, making a slight slurping noise as he did so. Frost noticed Boris' little accident but said nothing, instead he distracted everyone by passing food around, crafting ice to drop in hot cider, and explaining that he and Solan had done camping, swimming, and occasional out of town visits. After 30 minutes of gabbing Frost finished off his plate and sat back to enjoy the company of others. He sat back and quietly waited for others to steal the lime light. |

Kalinda sat down silently before the feast began and kept silent. It was nice to just sit and relax after the whole 2 days of preparation for this feast. She was glad that it seemed everyone was enjoying themselves. She watched her dear friend, Boris, as he attempted to take a drink from the wine goblet. She sighed. She should have known he would have had issues. She stood and walked around the table. She placed her hand lovingly on Boris' shoulder and waved her hand across the spill. She wine seemed to soak into the table and disappear. Kalinda returned to her seat and continued to eat silently, every once in awhile eyeing Coatl's pentant with interest. Where have I seen that thing before??? |

"This food is great," Sabella complimented Kalinda as she finished her plate, "Thank you." Rayne was nodding off in her high chair, exhausted from all the commotion. Sabella lifted her up, chair and all, and hoisted her to a quiet corner. Then she returned to the table and smiled at Jay with sparkling eyes. It was plain to all how she felt. |

For the whole time Solan needed to eat - and he did da lot of that, seeing as he had a lot of appetite thanks to him needing to still gain weight and grow - he had been pondering Frost's explaination of the term "side-kick". All the while he uttered not a single word. Only once he was sated he looked back at Frost and came up with a new question. "Then what is the difference between a friend and one such side-kick?" |

Coatl smiled at Kalinda with glee asking,"Perhaps you could answer some of the mystery of this magical pendant?Funny story,I found it in this old thrift shop.It was in this bin of gaudy costume jewelry I was rummaging through. The minute I touch it I felt unusual, like it had some tie with me.It seemed to glow in my eyes but the clerk I bought it from acted as if it was just junk.I been wearing it around my neck with its silver colorered chain since this day I would find it was truly magical the week afterwards.I was helping in this young children's shelter. The boy we were holding down was suffering from seizures. We new he had certain mild powers, but suddenly this plasma blast came from his head.It of coarse targeted me,so I leaped away unable to side step it.With wild eyes watching me,my pendant formed into the octagon shaped energy shield. It absorbed the blast easily. The pendant slowly returned to its grap around my neck. I can make it into this shield by sheer will, but the power doesnt return until days afterwards,as the pendant glows again someday.I feel it is bonded to me by some deep mystical energy.Should I be woried of it,could it be cursed somehow?" The pendant had some unusual cryptic triad symbol as Kalinda looked near it Edited by coatl, February 5, 2010, 5:51 pm.
