Little by little the young wolf relaxed. If there was any true state of his that could be called relaxed at all. The food made for a good distraction. And, seeing as he was still growing, he needed plenty of it. He was just about to start on a salad - unlike other kids he actually enjoyed it - when the dragon once more caught his attention from the corner of his eyes. Solan tilted his head, eventually looking at the dragon, trying to figure out why he even did so. Within him something stirred. He didn't have to ask the paladin to know that he was old. And that put him on edge. Worse yet, he felt angry about even seeing him, not knowing why. Eventually he looked up at Frost. "I disagree." |

Dan suddenly felt a wave of warmth over come him and for whatever reason he relaxed and smiled a little bit, it was like being drunk with out the buzz. Frost, on the other hand, looked at Solan and whispered; "Why do you disagree?" Edited by Dan, February 2, 2010, 8:27 pm.

Before the wolf could respond could Jasmine popped in with; "So Solan what's it like having Frost for teacher and big brother and Kalinda as part-time big sister?" This was a subject no one had given any attention to as of late; Solan had been home schooled after all much to some people's distaste but they lived with it with out saying much. Jasmine agreed that Solan was much to special to put up with bullies and dumb asses and she liked his power even if she couldn't quite figure it out, then again she never dared copy it...felt to special even for her to touch..much like Dan's light and darkness which didn't want to try actually copying anytime soon either for they felt wild, chaotic even. She continued to smile cheerfully at the young boy and awaited his response. |

As everyone began to get comfortable and some spoke amongst themselves Gail began to hand out silverware and cutlery followed by plates and tall glasses full of a special blend of tea made with unique herbs and spices. |

Before Boris could respond to the somber raccoon, Gail placed a steaming cup of spiced tea in front of him. His eyes widen slightly as he looked her in the face and gave a slight smile of delight. He bent forward to inhale the fragrant, yet delicate, earthy spices of the tea set before him. He thought to himself that it smelled wonderful. He was also pleasantly surprised to find any sort of tea being served, since it was his favorite kind of drink. The badger continued to keep his eyes wandering from person to person trying to ascertain earch persons demeanor. He was intrigued by the diversity of people that congregated for this lavish holiday affair. His ears perked up to various conversations, but there were too many different topics being discussed that it was difficult to keep track of any single oratory discourse between individuals. Since there were so many new faces sitting around the long, sturdy table, Boris decided it was best for him to sit back and observe the people he was unfamiliar with before he engaged them in conversation. Solan's attention was once more with Jasime. He remembered her - of course he did. She still had the pie going for her. He had never forgotten - which also meant that he pushed Frost's question aside for a moment or two. "It feels... different. I feel that I have not lived with anyone before." Naturally the kid had no inkling on how right he was with that. Other than that he found it remarkably easy to talk to Jasmine. Along with Frost she was one of the few people he didn't pereive as a direct or indirect threat to him. "All writings I have read suggest, however, that this is not the way children usually grow up..." Again he folded his ears back, eventually resorting to take a sip from the tea that had been handed out, trying to distract himself. Which didn't work. Frost's question came back to mind. He replied as truthfully as he could: "Because a dragon is a dragon." Not that there had been anything that happened to him due to dragons. Still. For aonyone who could sense it, he wasn't lying either. |

Quickly looking over to the white wolf he interjected, "So Frost, when did you get a sidekick?" Boris gave a small gruff chuckle in his usual gruff accent as he smiled at Solan. Inwardly, the badger was worried that the child's point of fact assumptions of the huge dragon might be misconstrued by others overhearing them talk. Though he was also geniunely intrigued of the fact that Frost of all people was seemingly mentoring this youngster. He lifted his paws up from his lap and delicately, wrapped them around the hot cup of tea feeling the warmth of it radiate into his body. Even though he looked to Frost for an answer, he was extremely aware of his large claws extending awkwardly around the small fragile cup. Edited by Boris, February 3, 2010, 1:29 pm.

"He's not a side kick," Frost grinned at Solan before returning with; "Robert kind of found the poor guy lost in the woods a few months back when we were all held-up outside the city protecting Sabella. He's more like a little brother, you know?" Dan added; "Yes but lets just ignore that whole thing for today; I know I'd like nothing better then to forget that whole thing." Then Jasmine added her two cents which turned to be more like a quarter when she explained, hastily, the entire situation to Boris about how Sabella had been tagged for death by some crazy cultists, they had fought several creeps, eventually ended up on the farm south of Kalinda's home town of McKenzie and by sheer luck survived. She also added how Sabella had given birth there in a vineyard of grapes and woodlands and that she and Elijah had gotten to bury Tegan's impaled corpse. "Ahem." Frost resounded and held up the wine glass that had been deposited in front of him, just like everyone else including Solan, and began; "A toast to good friends and peaceful times!" "Hear, hear!" Sabella held her cup up towards Frost and tilted it slightly. "And friends, I owe you all my life." She looked over to Coatl and Elijah. "Including those I haven't known long, I can't wait to get to know you better." She referred to being holed up for a few months taking care of the baby. "Salute." |
