Transient Rain Weyr is home to many unique dragons, riders, and creatures. The dragons know no gender bounds, the riders are eccentric, and you never know what kind of creature will show up next! If you'd like to become a part of the weyr, either as a candidate, a rider, or a resident, feel free to click the link below and join up. But beware: things that you are not used to may be lurking behind the doors of the shabby-looking weyr. Don't say we didn't warn you.

Weyr History

Transient Rain Weyr was founded over a millennia ago, when the old Pern was thriving, as a sanctuary for Blue and Green riders who preferred mates of the same gender. At the base of a dormant volcano, the weyr thrived in it's new tropical island home, colors mutating and growing with not only the environmental influence, but also the influence of their riders. New colors came forth and bred, to produce even further colors. Transient grew to be so large, that some of the riders left, forming their own weyr, Shysyra, on the third island in the chain.

As the centuries passed, Old Pern slowly faded away, from Threadfall and their own misfortune. Plague spread quickly over the old continents, killing the majority of the population, and even venturing to Shysyra and Transient. Soon, most of the old weyrs had died off, the remaining riders moving on to Transient and Shysyra, who survived due to the persistence of their dragons.

The old colors soon faded into myth, and the new, unbiased colors of Transient and Shysyra thrived in their tropical home. Unfortunately, the weyr's troubles were not over. The volcano by which the weyr had taken it's residence erupted without warning, destroying the weyr and all of its inhabitants, save for a small number who had been travelling at the time. They gathered together, and moved to a new building on the second island, away from the volcano.

Slowly, over the years, the weyr rebuilt itself, until it was brimming with activity and life. Fortune, as it were, did not seem to be on Transient's side, however, as a deadly plague struck the weyr, forcing those who were healthy to abandon their home for something new.

Finally, they managed to find a home on the third island. There, they slowly rebuilt, and, as all good things do, came to a screeching halt for a third time. The weyr was attacked by a group of rogues, those living off of the pain and suffering of others, who destroyed over three quarters of the population. Shysyra Weyr was attacked as well, and destroyed, leaving their home in rubble. The few survivors of the weyr, two riders and a handful of candidates, came to Transient, where they now call home. One of those riders flew the rising queen, Maneo Vhereth, but soon both dragons vanished, there whereabouts unknown. The weyr was distraught, without a clutch to bring in a new generation of riders, the numbers of the weyr were dwindling.

Then, what joy! A rider stumbled upon a clutch of thirteen abandoned eggs on the sands, and the dragons of the weyr have since taken turns caring for them. Soon they will be ready to hatch, so the weyr has called for candidates. Now they desperately wait for the candidates to arrive, and hope that the eggs don't hatch until they have enough for the clutch.
