Welcome to Transient Rain Weyr, a Dragonriders of Pern (Alternate Universe) RPG.

Transient Rain Weyr is home to many unique dragons, riders, and creatures. The dragons know no gender bounds, the riders are eccentric, and you never know what kind of creature will show up next! If you'd like to become a part of the weyr, either as a candidate, a rider, or a resident, feel free to click the link below and join up. But beware: things that you are not used to may be lurking behind the doors of the shabby-looking weyr. Don't say we didn't warn you.

Join the Weyr!

Rules Concerning Dragons
Please read all of the rules below, as these dragons are different from Pernese dragons in a few very important aspects.

001.) Weyrwoman/Jr. Weyrwoman will be selected by the managers. The Queen gene can be found on any color, so their queenship is usually determined by their hatching. A queen cannot be produced in a clutch unless by another queen dragon. You must have permission from a manager to have a queen in your clutch. The managers will select a weyrwoman and junior weyrwoman from the grown dragons, usually at graduation, where they will undergo their extra training and instruction in weyrwomanship.

002.) Your dragon can fly anyone. Rising females can be flown by a male or a female dragon. Also, should a male dragon impress a female rider, that male may be able to rise (Managers discretion). This allows for Male/Male and Female/Female pairings. (Note: Male/Male and Female/Female pairings do not clutch, obviously.)

003.) Sometimes, during flights, dragons that are not selected to mate with the rising female may have the oppourtunity to twine with another of the chasers. This occurs only if the managers give their consent, and the RPers of the two non-rising dragons agree. The two riders do not become mates through this act, but they do sate their lust as if they were. This allows more people to participate in future flights.

004.) You’re most likely going to get a female dragon for your male character and vice versa, so if you want to have a straight character, let the managers know. But you must have at least one Male/Female Dragon/Rider pairing for every three characters that you have that is not. For instance, if you have 5 characters, one must be allowed to impress a dragon of the opposite gender. For six, two must impress the opposite gender. And if you only have one or two, at least one should impress to the opposite gender, so don’t think you can get out of it.

005.) The number of eggs clutched by a dragon will be decided between the managers. There’s no set number per color. Flights and the number of clutches your dragon has will also be determined this way.

006.) Here, dragons are chosen at random. A riddle will be assigned to an egg, without you knowing which color is going to come out of which egg. In order to recieve an egg at the hatching, you must successfully claim a riddle and answer it. This all happens before the clutch itself begins, OOC, and once the clutch begins, it will happen normally (stand, impress, you get your dragon surprise =3).

007.) In order to join with a rider or a weyrling, you need to have your dragon approved by an Admin. We want to try and keep the color count balanced.

And that's it! If you have any questions, PM me, or post on the Questions forum. ^^
