Cox not ready to quit yet A little blurb about BC not thinking about this possibly being his last ST. He says the door isnt shut on a return next season and the Braves front office has pretty much said he will be there as long as he chooses. |

He will be there until he just cant handle being on the road, or until his health permits him to be here as our manager. |

Manager
|
Bobby will manage this team until he and he only decides he will hang up the spikes. As long as I have been watching Braves games, he is the only manager who constantly encourages his players from the dugout and will fight for his players, whether from the top stairs or comes out to the field, he leads all managers in ejections, which to me, means he will go to bat for his guys. Why is it, guys all over the league, say if there is one manager they would want to play for, it is Bobby Cox? He is a player's manager. He is loyal to a fault especially to the vets but when these "Baby Braves" showed up in 05, he didn't show any hesitation to put them out there. When and if Bobby leaves the Braves for retirement, #6 should be retired and hang along the sides of #3, #42, #44, #33 above Left Field. I bet he is grooming the next guy already to take over when he does leave, I wouldn't be surprised if it is Terry P. and if it is not, the Braves will go and get one of the guys who coached under Bobby. Either way, whoever takes over for Bobby will be someone who coached under him. |

I have mixed feelings. Bobby Cox is the only Braves manager I've ever known, and I am comfortable with him, but he seems to have lost his touch lately. |

Why would you say this Tp would be good coach. He has done a great job at hitting coach these last couple of years and will continue to do so. |

What an insightful post, not. I understand you have your own opinions, but isnt the point of the message board to discuss things?? If you dont like TP, are there reasons? Or do you just like to blurt things out? At least if you listed some reasons we could have an intelligent discussion about it, or try to anyway. |

Fine -he is overrated as a coach -batting has been down since he took over -he gets too much credit for 03 and Javy Lopez's "turnaround" Do remember though, what I said is more on point for a message board than your response to me. Edited by DanielW4444, Feb 14 2008, 06:12 PM.
