Always interesting to see which players show up early. Looks like Diaz is serious about earning his PT this season.

Got this off ajc.com BTW.

One day before they were due to report, early arrivals in Braves camp included catcher Brian McCann and pitchers Peter Moylan, Tyler Yates, Mike Gonzalez, Jeff Bennett, Blaine Boyer, Phil Stockman, Buddy Carlyle, Ryan Drese and Jeff Ridgeway.

Outfielder Matt Diaz was first non-catcher position player in camp, a full seven days before position players were due to report. Diaz lives nearby in Lakeland, Fla.

The first workout for pitchers and catchers is Friday. The first full-squad workout is Feb. 20.

The Braves were impressed enough by left-hander Damian Moss at pitching camp last week to sign him to a minor-league contract. He'll be in minor league spring training.

Matt Diaz is that dude. I think he'll hit above .330 again this year. He needs the starting job.

I would tend to agree with you.

Unfortunately I think he will still share time with B Jones. Thorman might even get some starts out there.

I agree Matt should get the full time job in left but he wont no matter how good he does. Bobby has already said how well the platton has worked in left for the last couple of seasons.

Moss must have been good enough b/c they never would have signed him to a minor league contract. I think that he will be in the minors for most of the year unless he is like, lights out in the minors then he might get some spot starts in the bigs.

I think Moss is there for an insurance policy for Hampton that has some MLB experience. Hopefully we wont see him in Atlanta this season.

It's nice to see that the Braves are eager to play.
(In Response to a post about Jurrjens feeling tightness in his shoulder):

Maybe he was using urban slang

(Bobby Cox): Yo, what up Jurrjens, hows that shoulder fool?

(Jurrjens): What up dawg, it's tight bro.

I am really surprised that chipper is not already down there with pitchers and catcher. I can see how matt is there already b/c he lives down there.
