As the old saying goes, You snooze you lose, well the Bulls apparently were snoozing so they lose on getting Mike D'Antoni meanwhile the Knicks weren't snoozing and got their man.

Will it help a team that NY is not very happy with and as had alot of internal and external problems over the last few years?

It seems it will be a 4 yr deal worth about $24M. Folks we are in the wrong business.

Let's see if he can bring the same style of play to NY that he had in Phx.

Now it is Phx who will be looking for a coach. Avery Johnson is available, what a move that would be if Steve Kerr, GM of the Suns, started to talk with Johnson about taking over the coaching duties of the Suns.

Avery Johnson would be awesome. I was talking shit about Dallas for firing him but I can't if the suns hire him. That would be great. Its about time D'antoni got out. He is a great offensive minded coach, and a great coach for that matter, but never liked him. D'antoni is too much of a softy and I guess doesnt believe in Defense wins championship. I always liked Avery, btw tt are you speculating or did you read this somewhere. Because if its for real that is exciting. If not I woudn't mind Steve Kerr taking the coaching job and seeing what he has to offer. The worse thing that can happen in that situation is he goes back to the front office if it doesnt wokr out. The main thing is to get some Defense going. The window is closing for Nash, as much as I hate to say if its not next year then the window is shut for Nash. Not to mention shaqs contract is up (thank god).

Whoever it is, needs to come in and SPEND MAD HOURS on D for this team. The offense and the future is not a problem. We have my main man Stoudemire and Barbosa to build around for years to come (diaw to if he can step up). Lets see who takes the chair, I hope its avery like I said but we will see.

Just speculating kdogg. I know he is available, not sure who else is available. Living in NC, I wouldn't recommend Sam Vincent with a ten foot pole, he was let go after 1 season due to conflicts with Bobcats players. I would have said Larry Brown but he is the Bobcats coach, nice move, I think that was coming after Brown resigned from the Sixers.

Who knows who will coach the Suns.

Yea there are a lot of options.

Paul Silas might be good, maybe even Jeff Van Gundy. I would be fine with either of them or Avery. Even though Eddie Johnson doesnt have any coaching experience maybe even him? Always a Sun, guy could be a great fit. Tom Thibodeau Boston Assistant wouldnt be too bad, guy is all D. It all depends I guess, we will see. There are a lot of great choices, so losing D'antoni isnt a big deal. And there is no doubt in my mind we will go after a Defensive minded coach.

Thats what I love about the NBA its a players league. Unless of course your one of the elite caoches.

I think the big mistake, just my opinion, was trading Marion for Shaq. Yeah Marion wanted out of Phx all because he wasn't the "star", Amare was. Sorry, Amare has a better upside even after his major knee surgery. He is young and he has just gotten better with Nash as the PG. Shaq can't play the up and down running style that Phx does.

In order to win, you play as a team, last time I checked, there was no "I" in team. Marion wanted to be the Number 1 guy, he couldn't be happy with being the #2 guy behind Amare.

Eddie Johnson might be a good fit but he needs to surround himself with veteran assts to guide him. Van Gundy, the Boston Asst. or Silas would be a good fit. Someone who will teach the Suns how to play defense, they can score and do what is good on offense but their defense needs to be tighten up in a major way.

ehh, as much as marion was unhappy Im sure he didnt mind being the number 2 man. I mean look at the situation he is now he is still not Number 1, Dwayne Wade is way better than him.

You know people kept saying that the Marion trade was bad, but it was not that bad of a deal. First of all whenever the time comes in a couple of years, resigning both Amare and marion would have been a bitch anyway. Marion was our best defensive player other than Bell thats for sure. I think why the shaq trade did not work out is because it forced us to go to a halfcourt game when he was in. Thats not bad considering he had supporting cast of bell, stoudemire and nash aroudn him but they still dont play D like you said.

At the end of the day Defense wins, and its not that the shaq trade sucked. Its that they dont play defense period. I don't regret that shaq trade much, sure I would rather have marion next year than shaq but whatever. Shaq at C puts stoudemire at PF where he just MANHANDLES everyother PF in the conference. Also considering you have talented big men in Chandler, Duncan, Gasol, we need shaq more than marion because stoudemire doesnt do shit at C. Stoudemire needs to learn Defense, nash does too but he is old so Ill let him go on that.

But I agree Avery Johnson, Van Gundy, or Theo would be solid choices.
