I am seeking opinions on sports radio. Idk about alot of places around the country (I live in south florida) but sports radio here sucks. I'm sure its like that elsewhere and if so, what as fans do you think is missing from sports radio? And I mean aside from kicking the people who are on the air who don't know their asses from a whole in the ground off the air but as far as the programming, what would you rather hear from sports radio? |

Here in Louisville we have pretty damn good sports talk radio. We get ESPN and Fox Sports radio, plus we have tons of local stuff too. It has really only come on here in the last couple of years. About 5 or so years ago we had nothing. |

I would rather sports radio be thankful when a professional athlete comes on the air, instead of bad mouthing him the second he leaves. |

I want to listen to national sports shows (Cowherd, Dan Patrick, etc.) but I have to listen to Anita Marks who may be the worst sports show host ever. I cannot stand that woman. And she's not even that pretty! |

The thing that gets me from the local sports radio shows that they never talk about your team. I guess that is to be expected from the average LOCAL radio show but down here there are very few loyal fans to the home teams. There are alot of people here who are from all over (new york, chicago, atlanta, etc) who mainly like out of market teams. When you go to a dolphins game or a marlins game, there are more people who show up to root for the opposing team. Even when Miami sports is good, I wish they talked more about other teams and their news and appeal to the larger demographics. But I guess thats why they have ESPN radio right? lol |

I actually co-host a show in Knoxville, TN 2 things we do that I love are: 1-We respect the callers opinions/comments/questions. We feel like if you are calling a show or taking the time to flip on the Sports Channel and listen, that you probably have good knowledge of sports. We don't treat the callers like dumpster juice. 2-We have fun and talk about non-sports stuff quite a bit. I love to laugh and have a good time. Too many shows are waaaaay too serious and feel like they have to be professional and stick their noses in the air, and never go off topic. |
