Jordan Schafer is impressing everyone in camp. He shows up at 7 am and is working on hitting in the batting cage. This kid is 21 yr old and is showing outstanding work ethic. Schafer is talking to Kotsay about things. It is obvious the Braves do their homework when they scout people, just not about their talent but what type of person they are away from the field too.

We draft quality people on top of it.

Schafer is playing the other OF positions besides CF. This shows the athletic ability of Jordan when he can play both LF and RF for us. You can bet when he plays either Mississippi or Myrtle, he will get work at those other spots.

Seeing him play, the Braves got a awesome CF'er for the future and another outstanding person for their organization.

When you impress vets and management, you know you are doing something right. Schafer is doing just that.

It is great knowing we have him in wings and he will be ready next year. He plays CF very naturally. I like the quote by Bobby, "He's a baseball player." Also, quoting the great Bobby Cox, he has RBI's in his glove.

do you think schafer will be able to make the club straight out of spring?

with the additions of anderson and kotsay in the offseason you would think that the braves are looking to ease schafer into the ballclub midway through the season but given his production in spring training, how can you deny him a spot?

just a question....would love to get yalls thoughts

I think he needs just alittle more seasoning in the minors and more AB's before coming up.

Schafer WILL NOT make the club out of ST. That is not the plan for him. He will most likely get a call up in September, but the plan is to get him ready for the starting job next season.
