How often do you hear about "abuse of cough syrup"? Never. You hear about it everyday with Marijuanna, as it is the most widely abused drug. Its bad cause it's abused. |

Now we are talking about codeine in cough syrup and Red Bull Energy Drink. First of all, the codeine in the cough syrup is for a medical purpose, if a person abuses it, then it is their stupidity plus the pharmacist puts warning labels on the bottle and gives directions as to what will happen when you take that medicine. As for Red Bull, that is on your parents if your little brother is allowed to drink alot of Red Bull or even buy it. It is not illegal to sell it, it is a drink that is loaded with whatever the heck it has in it. Let's stay on the topic at hand, marijuana is not sold legally, there is no warning labels on it and some people who do sell it, lace it with other drugs to give it a more potent kick. It can be laced with pcp, heroin, or coke. Now you tell me that you would want to legalize it, allow idiots who do sell it, to lace it with other drugs. It doesn't matter what you say, you can never convince me to make marijuana legal. I don't drink either, nor do I smoke. So why would I want to put something like Marijuana in my body. I might not be the healthest person around but I do know one thing, drinking and smoking will age you and do more harm then good. I will stick to drinking my Coca-Cola and leave it at that. |

I've already acknowledged the harm to your lungs. It's still less harmful than cigarettes. As far as brain damage goes, THC manipulates brain receptors for a short period of time which may interfere with some short term memory problems. Alcohol kills brain receptors. Take your pick. Ok, now to the stuff you just made up.. Vomiting - I chose this one first, because its the funniest. The first uses of medical marijuana took place after it was found that cannibus had such great antiemetic qualities. It was used to treat people with chronic nausea or vomiting problems, and over 90% of those tested reported total relief. Isn't it weird that something you say makes you vomit cures nausea and vomiting problems? Heart Disease - Recently it was discovered that THC in the bloodstream reduces the stress on hardened arteries. So, breaking up cholesterol and allowing for more fluid bloodflow leads to heart disease? How does that work Dr. Corey? Cancer - It's harmful on your lungs. But, its also used to limit the wasting effect caused by chemotherapy. Chemotherapy is used to treat cancer, Dr. Corey. So, giving someone who has cancer something that causes cancer while trying to treat it makes sense? I'll give you points for creativity though. You just made up five pretty random health conditions. Wheezing - ? |

So, in summary: 1) It's okay to say, when referring to other substances, that when people act like idiots or abuse something, then it is the fault of the operator, not the operant. However, in regards to marijuana, it mysteriously becomes all about the substance. 2) Marijuana shouldn't be legal because it is illegal. Sounds good to me. |

Give me one case where there has been cancer because of weed? It isn't bad for your lungs, what that study points to is that if you have respiratory illness or your sick, smoking prolongs it. Btw im glad shooting a person and smoking weed are pretty much the same thing |

It doesn't really matter anyway, more than half the presendential candidates are for legalizing marijuana. Right now there is just too much going on with global warming, gay marriages, iraq war and the economy. I say in less than a decade it will be legalized, heck there are weed vending machines in california. Sorry ttiger, your not gonna live much longer if you expect it not to be legalized anyway. and lol @ corey's posts. arguing for the sake of arguments huh? |

Legal marijuana leads to government regulation leads to big industry, holmes. How many people do you know who secretly manufacture cigarettes and sell them on the streets? And how did the whole moonshine trade fare after prohibition was ended? Stuff like laced weed is exactly why it needs to be legalized. If you're stupid enough to believe that people aren't going to smoke it anyway, then you're not worth the time to discuss this with. If was legalized, and its distribution controlled by regulated industry, things like laced weed would become a lot less of a problem. |

Lol, what exactly do you know about marijuana. Sorry but that last post, I had to catch myself laughing for a while because. your first post, well your second one since your first one just said #2 says:
So in other words you came out saying it shouldnt be legal because its illegal now. During prohibition, alcohol was illegal. 3rd post:
Ill let you get back to me whenever you find a source that says weed is more dangerous than alcohol or cigarrettes (legitimate sources) 4th post:
yes because that is the best argument I heard since weed and shooting people are the same thing, oh i wonder who said that.
wheezing - wtf? vomiting - first of all i never heard of this, second of all I doubt you can throw more high than you can after 10 shots of vodka brain disease - rare cases, as in I never even heard of that. I agree that it does kill brain cells and that sucks because brain cells do not regenerate. but alcohol DESTROYS your liver way more than weed effects your brain. cancer - there are billions of websites in the internet, billions of books too at your local libraries. find me one source that legitimately points a person's cancer to weed. and to the agruement is a gateway drug. when you get weed, people don't get coke or heroin on discount. thats the only way i see anything being gateway. You control your mind, when you smoke weed; it doesnt implant something in your brain that says I have to try coke and heroin now. |
