Only 5 switch hitters in major league history who have these type numbers: had a BA of .300 with at least 30 HR's, 100 RBI's and a .400 OBP in the same season and WE have two of them in Atlanta. Chipper Jones and Mark Teixeira. They did that last season. Mickey Mantle, Lance Berkman and the late steroid aided Ken Caminitti were the others. Chipper did it 4 other times.

With these two in the lineup and hitting in the 3 and 4 spots, we are going to give opposing pitchers fits, it won't matter if they brought in a LH or RH reliever, both of these guys hit either of them just about equally from either side of the plate.

Teixeira started to switch hit because of guys like Mantle, Eddie Murray and Chipper Jones. Now he plays with Chipper.

Imagine what these two are going to do this year, knowing you got guys that can get on base in front of you, those guys behind you can also drive in runs too. These two guys, Mark and Chipper, not only can drive in runs but can get on base, this lineup can get the job done.

For Chipper, having Mark hitting behind him, means he is going to get a few more fast balls to hit which means possibly a few more hits and maybe a couple of more homers.

I see us heading to the playoffs. Mark sees this team as World Series Champion.

I like how mark sees us as WS champs I like how I see the team as it is right now. We are getting put in third because the mets got Joahn and the phillies are the division champs so they are the favored to win. I may have my Braves Blinders on but, I always just tend to see the good in the lineup.

Let everyone talk about the other two teams, we quietly have put together a nice team, with Hampton returning and Gonzo ahead of schedule, key moves that seems to have improved this, no one is noticing us, we will take flying under the radar.

We have the best switch hitting duo in the game, one of the best catchers in the game, a cannon for an arm in right, a very potent lineup and all anyone can talk about is one pitcher the Mets have and the Phillies who are reigning NL East champs.

Something is wrong with this picture. We will take it though. Phillies and Mets are trash talking between themselves while the Braves are going about their business. When it is all said and done, watch who is sitting at top of the division, it will hopefully be the guys with the TOMAHAWKS across their chest, led by the switching hitting duo of Hoss and Tex.

the key to the switch-hitting duo 3-4 though will be if 1-2 can get on...

not much word out of camp so far about how those spots will line up. we probably wont know more until spring games get underway. but either kelly, yunel, or kotsay need to find ways to get one. if we get one of our first two on with one out or less, thats a gauranteed run with chipper/tex up next

There really is no question when you got Chipper and Tex back to back. Oh yeah, then McCann, Jeff, Diaz... Gah, I love that.

I have alot of faith in chipper and tex, but I dont know why but I always doubt Brian, jeff and Matt. Need to stop doing that and keep the faith im pretty sure we will be ok.

If McCann goes back to '06 form batting average wise, I think you will be ok. Those small injuries really slowed him down last year. Do you see Diaz starting or platooning with B. Jones. I would really accept either situation.

I see Bobby doing is normal and doing a switch hitting situation in Left but Matt shoudl start everyday. Who knows though he could be the main guy in Right.
