Just some thoughts on Will Ohman...

Originally after trading, I was a bit skeptical after glancing at his 2-4, 4.95 ERA last season. Right now, Ohman looks to be the "go-to lefty reliever". He will have a huge impact on how our season ends up serving in this role. So why am I now excited after looking at these numbers at first? Here's why...

Of the 20 Earned Runs allowed by Ohman, only 3 were allowed outside of Wrigley (1 ER-Dodger stadium, 2 ER-Citizens Bank Park)

Also, against batters for NL East Division rival phillies, Ohman has allowed a moderate .267 avg. Also, star ryan howard is just 2-7 against Ohman with 0 HR and 4 K's.

Lastly, Mets batters are just 7-30 (.233 avg) against Ohman with 12 K's.

After looking at more of the specifics, looks like Ohman wasn't such a bad pick-up. Also, correct me if I'm wrong, but if Royce Ring doesn't initially make the ballclub this spring Ohman could be our only lefty reliever until Gonzo is healthy. Just figured I'd post this for all of those initial doubters like me.

Will Ohman is going to do a very good job as the Braves lefty specialist this season. He has a great ERA away from wrigely field. I expect that trend to continue. We're going to need Ohman to pitch well to replace recently loss Ron Mahay.

Ron will be a big lose for us this year, he was a decent lefty guy. With those numbers posted above then he was a good pick up by us. I am really liking our team that we are goning to be putting together.
