This is a battle on Calling All Titans, a site that went dead and spawned the idea for this site. This was my best battle ever, or at least I think so... It was tied as Best Battle in the First Annual Calling All Titans Awards. I don't know what it was tied with, so I can't really be like all "Yeah, me and Mikey were as good as whoever and whoever." BUT! It was fun. And I wanted to save it somewhere, in case David does end up deleting CAT. So you know, Azedenkae (an admin who started the mission) is this color, Mikey (the evil guy in this) is this color, and I (the good guy in this) am this color. ____________________________________________________________________ The comet slowed down as the air forced against it more and more, until it was directly above the city. Suddenly, it seemed to stop for a blink of an eye, where the whole shape was visible. from the correct angle, it would look like 6 more or less circular rocks, the cracks covered by dust and other things. In fact, it almost is. There is an extra rock in the center, and as it lingered there for the tenth of a second, the central and top rock exploded, sending a ring of fire across the sky, attracting attention from people who's attention had not been attracted by the sight earlier. The explosion caused the 4 side-rocks to break apart, the dust in the cracks spreading downwards in 4 ways, raining down upon the citizens below, as people who could see the comet was blinded as they watched 4 pieces flew in 4 positions, whilst 1 blasted downwards at an angle. There was once a shopping center. A thousand screams, and now it is 30 m deep, radiating upwards in a crater shape, housing the still hot, still brightly lit fragment. People who got over the initial horror slowly crept over balconies, buildings, houses, roofs, roads, anything to see the fragment that was around 2 m in radius. Rukuro landed near the fragment, and stepped closer toward it. From what he could see, it was way too hot to really pick up, much less take back to the Tower. He needed water... He glanced back at the fire hydrant that was somehow still intact. A slow smile appeared, and he walked toward it, dodging the onlookers. The police sirens could be heard in the distant, as the large fragment still radiated heat all over, smoke bellowing from the top. There were 3 hydrants around, the nearest one was half broken and was now spilling water, whilst the other 2 are intact. He picked up the busted top, pleased to see that it made a makeshift bowl, and filled it with water, taking it over to the fragment. His face was grim as he poured the water on the glowing thing, and as he refilled it when he ran out. He hurried slightly, to finish before the police arrived. The 4m-in-diameter rock sizzled and hissed as water was poured on it, extra smoke bellowed for a moment as the water was turned into steam, before finally cooling down enough to reveal cracks on the surface, with bits of strange liquid oozing out. Rukuro kept pouring the water on it, ignoring the liquid. His face was grim as he worked, trying to hurry even more, squinting through the smoke. "I wonder what this thing is..." he thought, and of course his telepathy let others hear. He dumped two more bowlfuls of water on it, and examined it closely, not touching it just yet. The smoke finally stopped fully, revealing the fragment, now with cracks all over and liquid still oozing out of the cracks. The fragment look more or less circular-squarish, with jags here and there, colored brownish black, with patches of different other colors He shot a lightning bolt from his finger and levitated a piece from the fragment. "Do they want the whole thing, or just a piece?" he wondered, his low voice echoing in everyone's heads. Everyone looked around puzzled, not sure where it came from, but some one decided to answer anyways. "We don't know. We were here when it suddenly came down and crashed into the shopping centre, destroying everything and killing many people..." she said. Then silently, she seemed to disappeared as she ran away. The others looked at her, then proceeded to check where the voice came from. They were quite used to super-powered humans by now. He glanced at the other people, having not been expecting anyone to answer. He shrugged and faced them. "Tell me what happened, down to the last detail." He pulled out a notepad, the piece still floating behind him. At the same time, he sent a message to his mission giver by his thoughts. "Should I bring the whole fragment back, or just a piece?" This time he monitered his sending, making it so only the reciever would hear. The people after recognizing and listening to the Teen Titan, began to recount the tale. There was 1 huge comet, and it bursted apart, one of the fragments fell down here, which is almost 3 times a normal human's height in diameter. The other 4 fragments, estimated to be about the same. Then they told him about how the whole shopping center just got blasted apart, rubble flying all around, destroying everything in the crater created by the fragment. That was about it, before he came. As for taking all of it back or not, they did not know. They suggested to call the Titan Headquarters. The person at the Missions counter replied via Rukuro's communicator. "HQ says the more of it you can bring back, the better." He nodded and thanked the people, before using most of his energy to levitate the large fragment. Realizing he could never get it back to HQ, he put it back down and settled for a very large chunk of it. That done, he made himself levitate and floated off toward HQ, the piece right behind him. Rokuro glanced back at the chunk he was leaving behind and sighed. "Oh well. I have most of it." A moment later only, the fragment he had left behind seemed to collapse on itself as liquid oozed all over the place. There was a smaller rocky thing inside, full of spikes. Suddenly a thin boy appeared as the sun was setting. He did not look happy. He was also sending an icicle straight at Rokuro. Rokuro, who had come back to collect the rest of the fragment, saw the icicle and managed to barely avoid it. He glared at his attacker. "What was that?" he demanded. "What did I do?" "If you don't mind,"started Sightseer,"I'll take that rock." Then a great wind kicked up as Sightseer began to blow wind out of his mouth to cool off the rock. Then he started toward Roruko for the rest. Rokuro growled. "You are too late. The Titans have the rest of the fragment. Be gone with you." He shot a lightning bolt at Sightseer, and started to levitate the core. "The core belongs to the Titans now." Sightseer wasn't quick enough to get away without being singed by the lightning. He clenched his teeth in the pain and smiled slyly. "Ok then", he said," then i guess i'll just have to get it from you now won't I?" Sightseer drew his staff and whirled it sending an arc of wind right at Roruko. He followed through with running after it and jumped into the air, preparing to hit him if the air didn't do enough. Rokuro's eyes widened as he flew above the arc of wind. Distracted by that, he didn't notice Sightseer and was hit in the back of his head, as he was staring back at where the wind had been. With a groan, he fell a couple of feet, and the core fell lower. About 5 feet from the ground, he levitated it again and set it down back in the crater. He stood next to it, electricity running into his hands until they were glowing a bright baby blue. Sightseer saw the blue in Roruko's hands and knew something bad was gonna happened. He braced himself for whatever might happen. At that moment, the dark sky got darker, and thunder crackled. Rokuro smiled grimly, not believing his luck, and then glared at his opponent. The glow grew brighter. "You are a strange person, but a challenge nevertheless. Are you what they call a Brother?" His curiosity was getting the best of him. He growled again and focused on the energy. "You will have to kill me to get this fragment. I plan to pass this mission." Natural lightning struck just as Rokuro released the enrgy, 5 long, jagged, powerful bolts all in a row. He was getting angry now... Sightseer sighed. He really didn't like this. It didn't seem right. Especially when he said that word, brother. What is that? he thought. But he wasn't so distracted as to not notice the lightning. He grabbed a fisful of air and threw it hoping the blast would be enough to throw him off and ran as soon as he let go, not trusting the last-second move. The wind was taken out by the first three bolts, which also disappeared, but the last two went on, flickering with the power he had focused into them. Rokuro darted after his opponent, confused to no end. "You are part of the Brotherhood of Evil, correct?" he asked. "Correct," he said," but i've never actually thought of the word brother alone before, in fact i really have no idea what that is." Sightseer remembered the many years in the cave as he spoke. He didn't really know very much about other people. But a mission is a mission, he thought as he threw several small razor sharp icicles at Rokuro. Rokuro tried desperately to levitate quickly, but by the time he was out of range, many of the icicles had pierced both of his legs. Pain raced through his mind as he managed to shoot off a couple more bolts of lightning. He sank to the ground by the core, but he wasn't giving up. He stood and ignored the searing pain. "A typical thought for a Brother. 'A mission is a mission.' Do you not care about how many innocent people might be hurt in your rampages?" "I don't like other humans much," he said, "besides i'm barely human myself." He ran for the rock but realized he hadn't seen the lightning bolts hit anything. He ran faster as the air buzzed of searing pain. He was almost to the rock. Almost..., he thought. He shot about 3 small bolts, aimed directly for Sightseer's feet. He hoped to stop the BoE; he had taken the mission, and he wasn't going down without a good fight. He felt the searing pain of the lightning bolts as they hit. He fell the last few steps to the rock, as soon as he hit he turned around and threw his veil over Rokuro. He really hoped it would give him enough time to get away. The veil angered him more. He ripped it off and took a flying leap at his opponent. "I do not plan on failing this mission!" Electricity flowed down his fingers as he got ready to fight with his fists. Sightseer was confused at how Rokuro could touch his veil of darkness, Then stopped wondering when he saw the electricity sparking on Rokuro's hands. He pointed his staf and summoned the wind as he threw water in front. He released the air as he froze the water sending it so fast he barely had time to melt it before it hit Rokuro's hands. His eyes widened, and he ducked hastily. The water flew on overhead. Safe, he leapt back to his feet and tackled Sightseer. His fury was boiling over. The only time he'd gotten this angry was when someone from his home planet attacked his one of his sisters. Sightseer felt all the air leave his lungs as Rokuro tackled him. Slightly breathless he sucked air into his lungs at his first chance. Then realizing his new chance he blew as hard as he could to get Rokuro off of him. Rokuro anchored himself by grabbing Sightseer's arms, and, stilll furious, threw a swift rabbit punch. His yellow eyes glittered with blue electricity. and even his white hair had sparks running through it. Sightseer screamed at not only the pain, but at the light. It was so harsh. He found strength he never knew he had in his attempt to get away from it. The wind kicked up so hard it was nearly a tempest. Water froze as it came down from the sky, and all that Sightseer could think was, GET THAT LIGHT AWAY!!!!!!!!! The sparks got bigger, turning into small bolts of electricity. His eyes glowed baby-blue, and he threw another punch, ignoring the wind. His teeth were gritted, the only thing he could think was "I will fight until I cannot fight anymore!" Sightseer kept struggling against Rokuro's hold. He put his hand on Rokuro's chest and yelled,"NO!" as he blasted his most powerful in frantic struggling to get away from the light. The concentrated air was his only hope until enough water came down and he couldn't wait that long. He flew back, landing right beside the core. His energy wasted, the sparks faded and his eyes returned to normal. He was panting as he struggled to his feet. So much energy had been used, he couldn't even float 2 feet above the ground like he usually did without thinking. He lurched forward again, not giving up on his fight. Sightseer was free. He was also angry. He was only temporarily blinded or he would not be able to control the air. He felt for the water around him in the air. There was so much and the wind spoke to him of danger coming quick. He was tired but far from being beaten. He froze the water as quickly as he could making it as solid as possible. He fell panting after the brief moment of such power. He saw the water become solid and stopped in his tracks. It didn't move, so he kept on, bringing his opponent into range and throwing another punch to the gut. Sightseer felt the pain, but was glad no light accompanied it this time. As he flew back he landed hard. He faced his opponent and took many deep breathes as his he saw him approach having gained back most of his eyesight. He waited then sucked in alot of air and combined it to blow a freezing mass of air and ice. He only slightly felt the freezing wind, and shivered. He was relaxing in the deep pools or anger, so it didn't bother him as much as it would have. Already, he felt his energy return. Spakrs ran through his hair and flickered in his eyes. They ran over his veins on his arms. He was charging himself up for a big attack. Sightseer saw the sparks and decided he wasn't liking the look of them. He wasn't going to let it touch him. He knew he would have to risk a tornado, or even a hurricane but he didn't care. He swung his staff into a circle quickly and created a funnel, he fed anger into the wind. The sky grew dark and Sightseer kept moving faster, the funnel grew and when he nearly lost control of it he let it go at Rokuro. 3 huge bolts crackling with power flew from Rokuro's hands, 2 aimed for the funnel and 1 for Sightseer. He wasn't joking around anymore. The bolts were practically white, since he'd put a WHOLE lot of energy into them. They flashed toward their targets. Sightseer grinned as the bolts to the funnel got closer. The lightning would only be absorbed into the winds own storm. His grin vanished as he noticed the last bolt. His eyes started glowing with a fire as he moved the funnel off course as fast as he could to absorb, or at least redirect, the last bolt. All he could think was, FASTER! FASTER! Rokuro gritted his teeth and willed the last bolt to keep on its target. It had to hit him. It had to. He shot off many small bolts at Sightseer, hoping to distract him. As the smaller bolts hit they hurt but Sightseer knew the large one would hurt a lot more. Of course the distraction did slow his progress and that bolt was not going to slow down. He knew the funnel would not make it in time so he let it go its original course and used the remaining water to throw an iceball at the bolt. It was so close that he was almost blinded by the light again. He threw his ball and ducked. Rokuro's laughter echoed inside Sightseer's head. "You think an iceball can stop my bolt?" he asked, and sent many more small bolts at the iceball, in case it did threaten his large bolt. Sightseer smiled as he saw the small bolts sent by Rokuro barely scratch the surface of his ice mass. Unfortunately many richoched off into many different directions, including his. With his legs slightly rested, he jumped as fast as he could. More to get away from the light than the burns. Rokuro noticed the bolts doing barely any harm to the ice, and, risking it all, leapt forward to send his foot crashing into the iceball. He couldn't risk his bolt missing its target...He simutaneously sent 5 more medium-sized bolts toward his opponent. Sightseer heard a loud crash and thought the iceball had been shattered. He also felt the bolts as they hit his back. Rokuro, in his too quick actions, had actually pushed Sightseer, accidently, out of the path of the bolt with the smaller ones. He had also burned his back with them. However that didn't stop him from starting a run as soon as he could get up. Unfortunately Sightseer had been partly wrong when he thought the ball had been destroyed. Rokuro's foot had cracked it in half, and one half hit Sightseer's shoulder at just the right angle to dislocate it. Sightseer's scream cut through the air like a knife, and now he was pissed off. Rokuro winced at the scream, and noticed that he had pushed Sightseer from his large bolt's range. He growled, put his hands together as though he were holding a ball, and slowly eased them apart, charging up another attack. The lightning ball got bigger within his hands, as did the glow. He released the lightning ball, and, while it floated before him, jump-kicked it toward Sightseer. Hoping that would finish him off, Rokuro ran over to the core, levitated it, and threw himself into the air, willing himself to stay there. He was bone tired, but knew he had to get back to the Tower with the core. Sightseer jerked his arm back into its socket. The pain had him doubled over on the ground. He felt an intense heat above him and his shirt buned to a crisp, his cape was already a burned cloth hanging from a few threads at his back. He tore it off to keep from getting even more burned. As he got up he heard a boom in the distance. He was so tired but his anger took over as he saw Rokuro in the air with the core. He had to get it, and now he didn't care to play it safe like he did with the twister before. As he waved his hands the sky grew dark, as he circled his arms the wind picked up incredibly, and as he let his arms down he faced a monstrocity. One enroute for Rokuro. Rokuro glanced back and was greeted with a frightening sight. He growled and sent more small bolts at Sightseer, and flew away faster, the core right behind him. He was struggling to get away from the fight, to finish the mission. Sightseer heard the wind's warning of the bolts but his anger blinded him to the pain. He threw his staff at Rokuro and told the wind to make sure it found its target. Then he waited for it to happen and readied himself to grab the core. Tired though he was he was going to complete this mission, and nobody was going to stop him. Rokuro released all of his energy, causing him to fall with the core. He did it at the last minute, causing the staff to not guess his defense strategy. He shot more bolts at Sightseer, and, when the staff actually followed him, levitated again and slammed his foot into it fiercely. He was exhausting himself, and wouldn't hold up much longer. Stretching in midair, he tapped deep into his power, something he'd never thought of before, and released the largest blast of electricity (and light) toward his foe that he had ever mustered. He really needed to charge up after that attack. Most of his energy wasted, he turned and sped away, the core slightly under him. Sightseer had already started running when Rokuro started falling. As his staff went sailing past him he caught it. Rokuro was not to get away but Sightseer didnt know how much longer he could maintain his speed. Then he saw the the glow on the ground and knew what had happened and he shut his eyes. Running blindly he depended on the wind to lead him. He knew whatever had made the glow was aimed at him. Hoping was all he could do as he told the wind to set as little resistance as possible in his path and froze the ground enough to make it slick. He jumped foreward as the blast flew for him. As he slid the ground behind him exploded and threw him foreward. Sailing throught the air he collided with something. Whatever it was he did not know for his eyes were shut and the wind told him the light had not yet dissapated. Rokuro glanced back as the ground exploded, and growled angrily. He couldn't believe it; he had missed? Then, to his great amusement, he noticed that the blast had thrown Sightseer into a brick wall. The Titan shot a small bolt at a nearby streetlamp, causing its already bright light to shine brighter, to distract his foe longer. He put on a sudden, energy-taking burst of speed, and headed for the tower, the core following right behind him. "Maybe next time you'll defeat me, Sightseer. I look forward to our next battle." BG/Rokuro has completed the mission, and will now be able to gain the prize money. |
