My fave books are those of Sydney Sheldon's. His books are very well written. Not the typical predictable endings. Recommended books by Sheldon (personal opinion). 1.) The Other Side of Midnight 2.) Memories of Midnight (Sequel of Other Side of Midnight) 3.) If Tomorrow Comes |

i used to read lots of Sydney Sheldon's novels b4 n i must say i enjoy most of his books.. another favourite author is john grisham.. loves the twist in grisham's books especially those that were made into movies like rainmaker starred by matt damon n another one which i can't recol the title but it was starred by samuel jackson, sandra bullock & matthew mccoughney. but then i stopped reading novels as i dun really hv time for it. I used to be able to finish reading a 300++ pages book in 2-3 dys but nowadas i find it even hard to even finish a chapter in a week.. lol.. |

I'll have to check Sydney Sheldon Read a few John Grisham's... I'm a huge fan of Sci-Fi (lol) My favorites are Orson Scott Card (i'm finishing "Shadow of the Giant" right now) and Lois McMaster Bujold. Orson Scott Card's most famous series "Ender's Game",and "Ender's Shadow". I've also liked his "Alvin The Maker" series, and some others. My personal reading record was his "Speaker for the Dead" (book 2 of Ender's series) - around 600 pages, I've stayed up till around 4:30 a.m. and finished it in 1 day. L.M. Bujold - Vorkosigan Saga is amazing. If you like chick-flicks - I can recommend Meg Cabot (the author of "The Princess Diaries"). I love her style, very funny. You can check out her "Boy Next Door", "Boy Meets Girl", "Every Boy's Got One" and other novels. She also wrote some fantasy novels - "The Mediator" series (about a girl who can communicate with ghosts), and "1-800-where-are-you" (about a girl who had a gift to find missing persons). When I don't have access to the computer - I read

Actually that series hasn't ended yet. There was a new Ender's book in 2007 - The War of Gifts, ...and O.S. Card is planning to write more Ender's books in the future (check this link if you like: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Orson_Scott_Card ) |

I'm not fond of Science fiction.. but I LOVE fantasy books . (You DON'T however, want to read past book 3 of Terry Goodkind's The Sword of Truth series... I wanted to claw my eyes out after reading about demon chickens in book 5 (or was it 6?)) John Grisham isn't bad.. but when he writes books that go into every single little detail (like The Chamber), it bored me. The Firm has got to be my favorite though. I haven't read Meg Cabot in a long time... >_> |

Well, I devoured the Eragon, but still kind of stuck on the Eldest. So I guess I can't say I'm a fan. Let's see how will the third book turn out... @yoli, if you like fantasy - try Louis McMaster Bujold "The Sharing Knife" duo. |

Am currently reading Stephenie Meyer's Twiight Series: Twilight, New Moon and Eclipse. My co-faculty recommended them since he knows I'm fond of Anne Rice. They're not as heavy as the vampire chronicles, but they kept me reading all through the night

I'm a huge Meg Cabot fan. If you like her books, I highly recommend anything by Maureen Johnson, John Green, Sarra Manning, Wendelin van Draanen, Rachel Vail, Louise Rennison, and Scott Westerfeld. Also Neil Gaiman even though he's more horror/sci-fi/fantasy mixed with reality. Think Ray Bradbury-ish. Janet Tashjian and Ian Ogilvy are also good. I just finished Confessions of a Serial Kisser by Wendelin van Draanen, and it was so good! Very fluffy (I like the fluff, hehe). |

hasn't the Twilight series been adapted in a tvshow now ? how is it ? I haven't read it.. as for vampire stories i would say Anita Blake serie's by Laurell K Hamilton !!! I am also fond of thriller books like the Maxim Chattam ones.. or historical/ epic one like The Outlandish series by Diana Gabaldon... |

No, I don't think into a TV show. But into a movie! It hasn't come out yet, but Edward's playing Robert Pattinson. I think the girl needs to be a bit paler, but that's just from the trailer. I might have issues with the movies if the vampires aren't pretty enough, but I'm pretty pleased with Robert as the selection right now. Oh, and in the soundtrack, there's gonna be Linkin Park's "Leave Out All the Rest." (I love that song.) Okay, enough fan-stuff. I have to say the whole Edward-obsession thing for Bella and vice versa is a little creepy and makes Bella seem a little unstable sometimes, but the series is pretty amusing, and there are nice scenes that are fun to reread (like when her shield beats Jane's attack!). |
