How do you feel they did the show compared to the manga or the Taiwanese version? Likes and dislikes? Favorite parts? Favorite characters?

i think the only reason why i finished the tw version of hana kimi was cuz i read the manga, and i really wanted to see how they would follow it. The fact that they actually followed the plot line made me happy, but somehow it seemed too bland. wu zun and jiro were a plus tho!

the jap version of hana kimi was amazing in my opinion. the story didnt drag, and was pretty interesting all the way thru. my fav charcter in hana kimi would definitely be sekime! poor guy. no one remembered his name. The only problem with the jap version was that besides the fact that it was a drama about a girl going to the same school as her idol, there wasnt really anything that was similar to the manga.

but overall, i would recommend the jap version of hana kimi over the tw version.

i've never read the manga, but i have watched the japanese version at least three times and i tried to watch the taiwanese version too. i'm sorry, in my opinion, there's no comparison.
i'm probably totally biased because i love the japanese version so much, but i totally found the tw version to be lacking.
The Japanese version on the other hand was awesome! i don't think i stopped laughing the entire series, except for when i was crying. it was so good that i kinda makes me want to read the manga, even tho i'm not all that in to manga.

well, it's because you haven't read the manga, so you think TW version is lacking. TW show actually follows the manga pretty close, except the ending (I think almost everybody hated the ending). Plus it was the first one released to the public.
Japanese show is a fantasy based on the manga, it has the similar plot and the characters, but it's a completely different story altogether. I agree it's wonderful, and fun to watch, but I would never compare the two.
For example I loved Jiro playing Nakatsu, he's hilarious, and stays clueless about Mizuki's true identity through the whole story. His 'coming from the closet' is so funny, as all his attempts to court Mizuki as a boy ^_^
Toma's Nakatsu is a bit silly in the beginning, but he's more mature and serious compare to the TW version and manga. He also finds out Mizuki is a girl quite early in the show, so his actions are very different compare to manga and the TW Hana Kimi.
I'm not gonna go into much details and comparisons with all the main characters - I like them in both series, they just different.
But there is one character that I think was way better in TW version than Japanese - it's Umeda Sensei. I think Ryan Tang was a star in that role. He was so natural, and all his interactions were so realistic. I think Japanese Umeda Sensei was too exaggerated and his interactions with his "ex" looked like blown out of proportions.
I think overall these two versions of Hana Kimi belong to two different categories - TW version is more of a comedy, and J-drama is a grotesque. XD

I enjoyed watching both the taiwanese and japanese version however, i like the japanese version better in terms of story, camera angles and acting. i find the story of the taiwanese version dragging at times, the acting of the lead actress a bit exaggerated and unrealistic at times, most of all i hate the ending
