OOC- This isn't really an RP... just an entertaining read for members, though any input afterwards is welcome. It might lead to a small adventure... Their proffession is not acting. They simply threw this together to make some money. There is a reason they did not price people, through the common currency. In some places, they will be shunned, if they use the currency of most large nations. Tell me, if you are interested in knowing the specifics on how they did this act. I take no credit for the poem at the end. That is Brian Jaques creation, as are hundreds of other poems and dozens of wonderful novels. IC- Leor Di Malevolis and his faithful companion, Gluddon Alyekeneet Buffet, will be hosting a live performance tonight! A magic act like no other! Come an hour before sunset! The fee is a modest two grams of silver per entry, or one gram of gold for two, in any fashion. That was the sign that was posted at the market. Now, it was time for a performance! The crowd was large, with many viewers. The stage was large, with a red curtain, behind. A large table was also situated here. Gluddon came out, in a red cloak and a short, brown hat, with a latch on top that opened, not unlike a door handle. All in all, it was a very ridiculous appearance. "Now, before our act, please allow me a drink of water." He pullled a barrel from under the table and looked inside. "Oh dear! This water's frozen!" he emphasized this by slamming the barrel on the table. The sides of it split in half, revealing a barrel-shaped piece of ice, with something silver curled inside it. Gluddon turned the shape around, revealing that inside was a huge snake, curled through it, with its mouth open. It appeared to be menacingly staring at the audience. Gluddon said nothing and took off his cloak. He then covered the ice in this. The shape beneath the cloak then seamed to dissolve away, leaving only a long one under it. When he pulled the cloth away, the snake was on the table, hissing and rearing up. Gluddon took off his hat and put it in front of the snake, moving it from sside to side. The snake slithered into the hat, which appeared to be far too small t contain it. Gluddon then swung the hat back on his head, and opened the top. A small, beutiful bird flew out, singing. The Bio-Mechanical Orc quickly grabbed a net from under the table, and placed it in another barrel, that was slightly larger. He waved his hand over this a few times, chanting, "Oggla-Moogala, Biggalum-Bogey Man!". A large cat attempted to climb out, hissing, as Gluddon pushed it back in. "Sorry. let me try that again." he spoke. He repeated the process, this time saying, "Giggala-Miggala, Elf-Ears an' Toothaces!". Leor Di Malevolis leapt out, this time, panting. "Thank you, old chap. You are dismissed.". Gluddon smiled, and walked off, tossing the cloak to Leor. De Malevolis turned to the audience. "For my next act, I shall need a young assistant." many people raised their hands. leor called on a young boy, and gave him the cloak. "Toss that over me." The boy did as he was told, and Leor seemed to vanish beneath it. A Leor Sea Lion then waddled out from under it, barking exitedly, with its dorsal fin extended. Many elders gasped in fear, though few of the children knew what it was, and simply laughed at the creature. A few of the older people started to get up to leave, in fear. Gluddon returned, and bowed. The sea lion did so, albeit comically. Before walking off stage, Gluddon waved the cloak in front of the Sea Lion, and when he pulled it away, Leor was standng there, bowing, a bit more politely this time. Before leaving, he recited a poem: Who are we but strolling players, Wand'ring through the long ago, Joys and sadness, hopes and longings, Keep us traveling onward though. The laughter and applause of others, Who view the passing cavalcade, Leave echoes hovering some far Summer, Floating round a woodland glade. 'Twas but a show for your amusement, Gone, alas, into those realms, The land o once upon a time. |
