If this is in the wrong section, feel free to move it @Mods. I didn't see a written story section.
Chapter Two coming sometime tomorrow, three the next day. They are pre-written, I just want some added suspense before I release each one. Feel free to critique, imo chapter1<chapter2<chapter3.

“It’s over… It’s finally over”. “Yeah, it is”. A gunshot rang into the air and a body fell to the floor. How did this even start?

Chapter 1 – The start of the game

My name is Lloyd, and this is my story. It was my birthday, I had turned 17. When I returned home, I found a gruesome sight: Both my parents lying on the ground, dead. I was in shock. At first I was sad, but that changed to anger. I didn’t know what else to do other than to take revenge upon my parents’ death. I looked for a clue, something to lead me to the killer. I found two playing cards, one in each of their foreheads. As I took them out, blood was dripping from the cards. It was clear that it went through the skull. Written on them was a message, an invitation: “If you wish to take revenge, come meet me in The Realm Between. Signed –The Gamemaster PS: A portal should open in 3, 2, 1.” As soon as I finished reading it, almost instantly a portal appeared. I hadn’t even begun to think that this was a trap, still enraged by the death of my parents; I hastily charged in. And that’s when everything changed.
I fell into what seemed to be an empty void, what was minutes seemed like hours. It was a cold blackness, not a dark blackness but an empty blackness. And with that, I passed out. When I regained consciousness, I was in a black world, with a blueish-purple ground. There were people nearby. Maybe they found me? “He’s finally awake” one of them said. “Are you ok?” Dazed, I took in my surroundings. It seems I was a campsite. Where was I?
“Now’s not the time for taking care of him! The countdown has appeared. They are coming”. With that, everyone took a weapon, as if it had appeared from midair. Some had ranged weapons, some had long distance weapons, heck, and some of them had weapons I’d never seen before.
“Who’s coming?” I asked.
“The hunters” one of them said. He looked to be in his twenties. I didn’t realize it then, but we were going to be spending a lot of time with each other.
“The name’s Alexei, and you?”
“Lloyd” I replied. “What is this? Where are we” I asked.
He answered “You, my good sir, are in The Realm Between, playing in a game called The Hunted. I’m going to go on and assume you don’t know what that is. Y’see, there’s two groups, The Hunters who are trying to hunt us down and kill us, and of course The Hunted. That’d be us. All we gotta focus on is surviving for one month. Many of us have our reasons for being here. Some want the fame of surviving, others want the riches. Heh, I joined because I'm looking for a lost civilization. There appear to be ties to these games and the civilization. How about you?”
I suddenly remembered it all. For a second I thought my life was a dream, or this was the dream. "I'm tracking down a man... He goes by the name of The Gamemaster.” I explained to him what happened.
“Ah, so you’re looking for revenge is that it? Not to worry, since I’m trying to track him down as well, as soon as I get the info I need out of him, he’s all yours. Deal?” I thought for about it for a moment. Was it really going to be this easy?
“THEY’RE HERE!” someone shouted from above. Suddenly two Hunters ambushed Alexei and me.
“I’ll fend this one off. You take care of the other one” Alexei said before charging into the attacker, sword in hand. I was scared.
The other attacker approached me. “Heh, this is gonna be easier than we thought. And here The Gamemaster warned us about you. Looks like I autowin this game.” He said and he swung his mace at me in a horizontal fashion. I thought to myself that it was all over.
The attack connected, hitting my chest. I could feel myself fading into another world. I wondered to myself “Is this it? I’m going to die just like my parents?” I could feel it. The warmth of what I believed to be the afterlife…

Chapter 2 – The First Victory, and First Loss

I awoke, dazed. The warmth around me almost felt like a warm bath of water. I couldn’t see anything, and everything felt so strange. I couldn’t move, somehow my body was breathing for me. Out of nowhere, words appeared, and my mind read it aloud. “Reinjecting into Odysseia”. Odysseia? Am I going home? Was I free of this game? I felt a rush, and I had a flying sensation.
I opened my eyes. Alexei was fighting them two on one. I stood up.
The one who originally attacked me noticed. “Ah, he’s up. I thought it’d take more than that to kill you. Good, let’s have fun with this!” He began to rush at me.
“Lloyd! Your weapon, call it out now! Reach into your soul and grab it!” Alexei yelled.
I was staring death in the face once more. This time, everything went in slow motion. I had to think, I knew that I had seen others materialize weapons. Maybe that was it? I put out my hand, closed my eyes, tried to envision myself with a weapon, any weapon. All of a sudden, a sword appeared in my hand. Only problem was that I didn’t know how to use it. I was running on complete adrenaline.
I dodge his blows as quickly as I could. Somehow I was faster, stronger than I was in Odysseia. I swung my sword, after just barely dodging an attack. It had only skimmed, but it did enough to hurt him. “Eheheh, is that the best you can do? Please. I don’t know how you lived, but I’m going to put you down, this time for good!” I rushed again, enraged. I jumped and jabbed my sword at him. I missed completely, getting my sword into the ground. The result shook the ground, and a piece of earth shot up from beneath my foe, sending him flying into the air.
“That was impressive, Lloyd” Alexei said, just finishing off his attacker with the timer hitting five seconds remaining.
“What the… I killed a man” I said, sweat dropping from my hands.
Alexei patted me on the shoulder. “Welcome to The Hunted, Lloyd. It’s kill or be killed around here. I’m very impressed that you managed to figure out elemental abilities already, and it’s just your first day.”
I was confused. “Elemental what?”
“Oh right”, explained Alexei, “I forgot to tell you earlier. The Realm Between is a very special place. It can draw out the inner beings of people. Take for example, your weapon. There are many different weapons, from swords, to axes, to guns, you name it. But there is a special kind of force for your weapon. I have dubbed them “Elemental Abilities”. They are based around the 4 elements from what I can tell. Earth, Fire, Wind, and Water. Most are connected to your weapon, but on rare occasions you can use them without having to rely on the weapon. In other words, you can attack with both physical and elemental. The fact that this is only your first day though… wow.”
I thought about it for a moment. “I don’t even know what I did. The adrenaline just kind of… told me what to do.”
“That’s the special thing about this place; it draws out your inner strength.” he said, “Who you really are, and the fact that you are fighting for your life makes it that much stronger.”
“So wait, are you implying that I’m able to use these ‘powers’ in the real world?” I said, stunned by the idea.
“You are absolutely correct” he replied, “Anyway, it’s getting late, we should go to bed. Last thing we would want is for the countdown to appear midsleep. You came in late, so allow me to officially welcome you into the second week. It only gets much harder from here.”
“Yeah, you’re right. Mind if I stay here at the campsite?” I asked
“I’m sure no one would interject” he said, and then he whispers “To be honest, I saw a boy die while you were out. I don’t know how you survived that blow, but you could probably use his spot. It’s in the same tent as mine. Follow me”.
Day 8: 22 days remaining
“Lloyd, wake up. We need to get moving”
Right next to me, Alexei was trying to awaken me. I must have not gotten much sleep, I was tired. “Lloyd, we don’t much time, I’ll explain once we are far enough away”. I remembered yesterday, the battle I, no we, fought. If it taught me one thing, it’s that I need to stay on my toes, at all cost. I followed him out the door and we ran.
“What is this about Alexei?” I asked. Before he had a chance to respond, there was an explosion behind us. Our campsite, destroyed.
“Only one way to go, and that’s away from here. Our killers can’t be too far away, so we need to get somewhere safe” he replied. Why? Why do they want me dead? What does The Gamemaster want with me? I pondered these questions as we ran into the forest.
We made it deep inside the forest. I sat down, exhausted, and laid my head on the tree behind me. I heard a beeping sound, and Alexei pointed slightly above me. I looked behind me, and on the tree it read “29:54” and was slowly counting down. “The countdown has appeared,” Alexei said, “Looks like we gotta survive alone for 30 minutes”. Just then there was some rustling in the bush in front of us. Four people had appeared. They must have been hunters.
“Well, well, well, what do we have here?” said the first one, “a couple of strays?”
“Oh, we didn’t mean to ruin your romantic time in the woods” another said.
Alexei drew his sword. “Lloyd, I understand you are still new to all of this. I can take these three, but you need to take the last one.”
I don’t know why, but I froze again, like last time. I couldn’t move. I knew what to do, but I couldn’t act.
“Aw, what’s the matter” said the fourth one, who was ‘my hunter’, “Don’t worry, I’ll make this quick and painless”.
He drew his Axe, and charged at me. I was dead, I knew it. All I had to trust on is that I wouldn’t die again. Is this why The Gamemaster was so intent on killing me? I heard a gunshot, and I fell to my knees…

I saw them from a distance: Six people talking at a distance. “Well, well, well, what do we have here?” said one of them, “a couple of strays?” “Oh, we didn’t mean to ruin your romantic time in the woods” another said. I was almost certain that the four on one side would be hunters; the other two must be their prey. They were easily outnumbered. Heh, this is the way I like it. The older one drew his sword. “Lloyd, I understand you are still new to all of this. I can take these three, but you need to take the last one.” An even better handicap, this game keeps getting more and more fun. He stood there, helpless. I took aim with my rifle and shot his attacker, and they both fell to the floor…

“It seems that our game has a saboteur. #6, are you up for it?” “Sure thing. Before I forget though, how is your other game coming? Y’know that ‘the death game’ or whatever it’s called.” “I told you, it’s ‘The Reaper Games’. It’s inspired by a fictional game.” “Right, right. So what do you want me to do with this saboteur? Want me to kill him?” “Not yet. He’s already found Lloyd. We can’t have him interfere with our plans. I want you to investigate him. Find out what he exactly wants, and why he’s sabotaging the game.” “Gotcha, I will return.”

Chapter 3 – The Swift Magician
“Lloyd! Get up! Do I have to do everything for you?”
I looked up, my assailant on the floor. He had a bullet hole in the back of his head. “I’ll go after the sniper” said the first hunter, “this kid isn’t a threat, take out his guard.” A shadowy figure in the trees saluted, as if saying “best of luck” and ran off. “Get back here you!” This left two hunters. The timer read 19:07. I wondered what if it hits 00:00?
“Lloyd, please help!” Alexei was struggling and outnumbered, I couldn’t just leave him alone. I don’t know how to use a sword though. I remembered though, I was able to defeat the first hunter on my own. Maybe, just maybe…
I spawned my weapon and quickly switched it to a backhanded grip. As I swung it into the earth, I hoped for the same results as before. The ground bounced him into the air. “Heh, is that the best you can do?” he asked. Alexei took notice and jumped into the air, cutting the hunter’s head off.
The final hunter was outnumbered, but nonetheless he laughed. “This outta be fun” he said, licking his knife. He rushed me, hoping for a kill. I ripped my sword out of the ground, hoping to defend myself. Instead, rock came out as a shield, encircling me. I couldn’t see what was going on outside, but I knew I was safe. I heard rumbling on the rocks, as if he ran on top and jumped off towards Alexei general location. There was clinging of metal. “After I kill you, I’ll kill your husband.” “You wish.” There was a stab, a groan, and a body fell to the floor.
I heard knocking on the wall. “Lloyd, it’s safe.” I breathed a sigh of relief, and the walls responded, as if my emotions controlled them. The timer read 00:15. A small man jumped from the trees wearing a hood. He was wearing clothes I had never seen. He was wearing some sort of grey shirt with a hood on it and blue pants. He held his fingers in a countdown fashion. The hunter chasing him jumped down, trying to stab the man with his spear. “Die you little scumbag!” he shouted. The time hit 00:00 and the hunter dissolved into flames.
The mysterious man flipped up his hood. It was a boy, looking to be around the age of 12-14 with blonde hair and blue eyes. “Ah, that was fun. I’m Ivan, and you?”
“I’m Alexei, and this is Lloyd.”
“Alexei huh? You look a lot like a guy I’ve saw on the news where I’m from. Alex something-or-other, owner of some company” Ivan said.
“News? What do you mean?” I asked.
“You must be from Odysseia. I’m from a place beyond Odysseia. I guess you could call it ‘Heaven’” Ivan said.
“We can talk more in the morning” Alexei said, “In the mean time we need to sleep. We’ll have to sleep here for now. We can try to find another camp tomorrow.”
Day 9: 21 days remaining
I awoke with my neck hurting. We had slept on the cold dirt. Everyone else was already up. “You mind if I tag along? I could use the help.” Ivan asked Alexei.
“Sure, as soon as Lloyd gets up we can head out.” Alexei told him. He looked over to me as I got up. “Oh, perfect timing. We ready to head out Lloyd.” It’s so strange; I just realized that since I’ve been in The Realm Between, I haven’t been hungry.
I yawned and stretched my arms. “I’m ready whenever.”
We set out in the opposite direction of the previous camp; hoping to at least find new people. A man jumped down from the trees, and we all drew our weapons. “Relax, I am not a hunter.” The man wore a white robe. “I come here on a… business venture. So, you’re Lloyd huh? Nice to meet you. I guess you can call me…” He thought for a moment. “Ah, I know. You can call me ‘The Swift Magician. Yeah, I like the sound of that. Anyway, formalities aside,” He pointed at us, “One of you is sabotaging our game, and we don’t appreciate it.”
He tossed a card at a nearby tree. The word “Skip” was on it. A timer appeared saying 88:88. It blinked several times before it went out. “See as how a lot of people died yesterday due to your antics, I’m giving everyone a free day under one condition, you three amuse me.” His robe started glowing many colors. “Heheheh, tell you what, I’ll even go easy on you, I won’t even use my weapon.”
