expanding and slowly dissipating into space =/= exploding
Sirguyman

It will eventually, but first it will expand into a red giant and the Earth will be consumed.
"it will eventually"

meaning that he's saying that explosion is inevitable, but it doesn't explode! the best it can do is expand like a bloated up cat on a binge catfood diet and eventually all its fur will slowly gravitate away then follow the skin and its organs. if you can picture that.
*facepalm*
So you think stars don't explode at all?
The Sun WILL explode, we won't be around to see it.
Get your facts straight Evil.
With ur balony of conspiracy.
Stars do NOT explode, it looks like it does because it is portrayed that way, however in most cases doesn't. We are talking about OUR sun here.

Stars just fizzle off their contents when they're at a very old age. Take a class or do some research before you attempt at this. -_-

:hmm:

You say that the sun will just vanish.
So (super)nova's are just stars reformed,no explosions at all?
That seems weird to me.
Anyway that was way beyond my point.
My point is, that Earth won't be destroyed à la 2012 bullshit.
ours wont go into a supernovae

I know that, our sun is too small for that, hence the "()".
