Jesus and the Bible (Religious People 2.0)

I don't mean this in an arrogant way, but I've studied this topic a crapload and probably know a lot of answers to many questions everyone has, as well as arguments that get brought up a lot. I scanned through that other thread pretty quick, so I won't address each one individually, but will quickly go over some things I noticed.

1. Jesus' resurrection was faked; His body was moved: This is pretty ridiculous. First off, Jews were persecuted for believing in Jesus' divinity, and had no reason at all to move the body. In fact, if they had left it there, they would've been much better off because they would admit their misjudgement and not be persecuted any longer. Jews had every disposition to not believe in a dying (much less rising), messiah. Examples of people dying for their belief in Jesus are Peter (crucified upside-down), and John (beheaded.)

2. All faith is blind: No. The Latin word for faith, fides, also means trust. Faith is based on evidence, blind faith is based on no evidence. There's plenty of evidence I think points to Christianity, but I'm sure no one cares to hear it, what with more questions needing to be addressed first.

3. Science is the enemy of religion: No. Science and religion can coincide. The Bible believed in a beginning to the universe long before scientists had proof of it, with the Big Bang research in the 1960s. Evolution and other scientific topics can't really be covered in a quick overview, but I can list some of many reasons why science points to Christianity.

4. All religion is bad: No. Grouping religion together and citing the bad things done in the name of religion is illogical. Jesus certainly preached against things like the Crusades. Saying all religious people are bad is like me saying all atheists are bad, comparing you to Stalin, Hitler, Pol Pot, Mao, etc.

5. This one is for wolfen; the Old Testament law doesn't apply for Christians now: Matthew 5:17-18 "Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil. For assuredly, I say to you, till heaven and earth pass away, one jot or one tittle will by no means pass from the law till all is fulfilled."

Ask questions is you want, or just list arguments. Again, I only covered a really, really small part to quickly address some things I saw in the other thread. (I'm very busy, you know. ;))

I think she read it already. If not, let's all spam her with messages.

To be honest, I just want to see Wolfen get owned by religion.

I'm an agnostic. There are too many theories for me to believe in just one.
It's the terror of knowing what this world is about, watching some good friends screaming "LET ME OUT!"

I'm kind of Agnostic, but I'm pretty Jewish when it comes down to it.

I'll post as much as the evidence I have for Christianity tomorrow or so. (Can't do it now cause I don't have the time, unless you really want to see it now.)

I am an atheist. I basically do not believe in a higher being or deity. I have my reasons, but I would like to hear what Magnum would like to say because he is one of the few people who actually make sense when talking about religion. None of this Wolfen thinks I hate life bullshit.

Sure thing. Like I said to hasfarr, I'll try to compile some thoughts and evidence tomorrow, but for now I really have to go. Thanks for posting, by the way. (Also, I think wolfen just worded herself wrong.)
