About You Name: Emmy! Contact Info: • A PM will usually suffice • MSN/Email: my_attitude_@hotmail.com Characters on WotR: N/A How Did You Find Us?: An advertisement General Information: Name: Lothíriel Alias: Princess of Dol Amroth, Daughter of Prince Imrahil Gender: Female Homeland: Dol Amroth, Gondor Age: Twenty In the Service of: Gondor Weaponry Weapons: N/A Armour: N/A Steed: The year Lothíriel turned sixteen her father presented her with a horse of her own, a docile mare named Alvedriel after a Gondorian ghost. Blessed with a serene disposition it was hoped by her father, though not voiced, that the charcoal black mount would have a calming influence on her mistress. Description Physical Description: Whilst beauty is undoubtedly in the eye of the beholder, few could disagree that there is a certain striking quality about the princess of Dol Amroth that is not a result of her appearance alone. Blessed with the beauty and fortitude of her people, Lothíriel’s strength of character and vivacious spirit appear to radiate from her entire being, seeking to challenge the illusion her delicate features portray. At the ripe age of twenty Lothíriel stands at the average height for a young lady. Aside from her height, however, there is nothing remotely ordinary about the princess. It has been many years since Lothíriel shed the body of a child, and now, no longer a girl but a young woman, her soft blossoming curves endeavour to entice the hearts of men. The princess’s slender frame is the result of many hours spent wandering or riding along the shores of Dol Amroth. Her slight build and long, lean legs assure that she looks beautiful in whatever garment she wears, whether it be one of her intricately embroidered silk gowns that accentuate her tiny waist, or a simple dress whilst on horseback. Regardless of her attire, Lothíriel exudes an air of feminine grace and charm, that only a daughter of royalty could possibly possess. Likewise, her hair, despite being of common colour in Gondor, is equally cherished. Incredibly soft and thick, her dark chestnut brown locks constantly seek to be the object of attention and when free from their elaborate braids, spill over her thin shoulders in a tangle of curls and soft waves, past her slender waist to her hips. Blessed with the high proud cheekbones of the royal line and the elegant neck of her mother, Lothíriel’s visage is undoubtedly that of regal blood. Her dainty, heart-shaped mouth is naturally the shade of pink roses and her lips, full. From beneath perfectly arched eyebrows, she looks out onto the world through smoky blue-grey eyes that reflect all the mysterious shades of her treacherous and most beloved sea. Fringed with thick dark lashes Lothíriel’s earnest gaze reflects all the intensity and passion of the heart that beats beneath her creamy skin. Her colouring is a reflection of her Númenórean heritage, graced with the slightest touch of Elvish blood, thinned of several generations. Despite the many long hours the princess spends outdoors, strolling the coastlines of the fortified city and enjoying the radiant glow of the sun, Lothíriel’s complexion still remains fair, though not sickly so. It is common for a rosy flush to colour her cheeks after an excursion outdoors, though strangely, not a single freckle graces her soft skin, regardless of the sun’s persistent caresses. Avatar: Natalie Portman Personality: Born into a life of privilege yet constantly suffering at the hands of destiny, Lothíriel is nothing more or less than the result of her experiences. Shaped entirely by the cards fate has dealt her and the obstacles life has lodged in her path, the princess has developed a thicker skin than most could claim. Though whilst not in the least incapable of emotion, Lothíriel has a strength about her character, and an ability for survival, not often likened to a woman as young as she. There are, however, still blatant traces of youth beyond that of her appearance. Past experiences have proven that Lothíriel is prone to ignoring the consequences of her actions, allowing herself to become so deeply emersed that she scarcely sees the effect her choices will, and already, have had on others. Also, she has a tendency to be rather single-minded. That is not to say that the princess is narrow-minded, but rather firm and assured in her beliefs and often finds that she views particular things with such intensity that the remanence of her surrounds remains oblivious to her. Blessed, or perhaps more appropriately, burdened with an inquisitive mind, even during infancy, Lothíriel is often found pouring over thick volumes in the dusty stacks of the palace’s extensive library. Or when the day is pleasant, outside cradling a book in her hands. The princess is constantly seeking ways to expand her already broad understanding, a trait that is not entirely considered suitable for a lady in her position. Nevertheless, she pursues every chance to learn with an unmatchable and determined energy, embracing every opportunity to develop her knowledge. It is also this curiosity that has drawn her, even as a babe, to the coastal shores. For hours at a time, Lothíriel will sit on the sand in silence, expressive eyes cast out before her, absorbed in a world far beyond the bars of her cage. Even today, she still finds magic and wonder in the steady rise and fall of the tides, a small peace in their consistency, an inner calm beyond any explanation. Her love for the sea is indescribable and she struggles to imagine her life without it’s presence. As a result of her studious ways, Lothíriel has developed a sharp and witty tongue over the years. Needless to say, whilst her eloquence hardly ever escapes her, bluntness is not beyond the young lady. That is not to imply for a moment, however, that the princess is inappropriate. From a young age Lothíriel has been aware of what duty demands of her and the sacrifices she must make for her father and her people, and whilst she is known to resist orders that do not align themselves to her moral code, she knows her place. Demure Lothíriel may be at a stretch, but docile she certainly is not. For regardless of her outward acceptance of her place in life, she is constantly in the middle of an inward struggle, dreaming of rebellion and yearning to be free of life’s shackles. Strong-willed and compassionate, the late Princess of Dol Amroth and mother of four is the source of all of Lothíriel’s kindness. Blessed with a kind-heart and a tender soul, the princess practices a non-judgemental approach, even to those who do not necessarily deserve it. Far too trusting for a woman of her circumstance, Lothíriel generally believes the best in everyone, bestowing upon her character a childlike innocence and naivety that she is still yet to shake. The princess, however, is not without her flaws. Incredibly obstinate and hard-headed, even during her youth, her father has often uttered the phrase stubborn as a mule in reference to his beloved daughter, with reluctant affection and feign disapproval. Her competitive nature is also a result of being raised in a predominantly male household. Endlessly having to compete with her siblings has instilled in Lothíriel a need to win and needless to say, she has not quite mastered how to loose and loose gracefully. She is also prone to falling a victim to her own temper, however, whilst being quick to anger she is also quick to laugh. Not in the least bit ignorant as to what is expected of her or how she should conduct herself, Lothíriel has been taught how to remain composed even during the most trying of circumstances. Rarely does she ever challenge her father or speak out against those in her company, her own personal pride and respect for her father keeping a hold on her tongue. And whilst she does not always abide by the rules of propriety, she understands her duty and is prone to retreating to the familiarity of protocol whenever it suits her. However, as Lothíriel is only human, young and spirited, she does occasionally neglect the teachings of her upbringing, but only when she feels either extremely comfortable, as is such with her family, or insulted beyond measure. It is in these dealings that Lothíriel reveals what truly lies beneath her charming and calm disposition: a passionate, lively and wilful individual who makes for compelling company. History: In the year 2999, in the majestic castle overlooking the Cobas Haven, located on the coast of the Bay of Belfalas, Lady Faerlain gave birth to her fourth and final child, a daughter, whom she affectionately named Lothíriel. With three elder brothers and two dedicated and adoring parents, the young princess was never lacking in company and enjoyed a blissful childhood by the seaside. From a young age Lothíriel’s life was ruled by routine. She spent her mornings with her personal tutor, receiving an excellent education on history, politics, diplomacy and war. Her mother saw to it personally that her daughter was well learned in embroidery, dance, etiquette and music, particularly favouring the harp. Unable to deny his daughter anything, Prince Imrahil also allowed her horse riding lessons. With such a busy schedule Lothíriel hardly ever had a moment to spare and was very adamant to enjoy her free time as best she could, dividing such moments between the seaside and the library. During her youth and early adolescence Lothíriel also spent a considerable amount of time at Minas Tirith, enjoying the company of her cousins, Boromir and Faramir. The year Lothíriel turned ten, however, a tragedy befell the royal family of Dol Amroth. During one of Lady Faerlain’s countless walks along the coastline she suffered the misfortune of stepping on a stone fish, partially emerged in the shallow waters. Whilst such an incident is not fatal to many, the much-adored mother of four was one of few to harbour an allergic reaction to the poison and died almost instantly, leaving a grieving family behind. For many months after her mother’s death Lothíriel lost her delight in life and shied away from the ocean that had stolen Dol Amroth’s most beautiful treasure. As the years past, however, the pain that had once burned so fiercely dimmed to a dull ache and with every passing day Lothíriel slowly opened herself once more to life and all of its raw beauty, never forgetting the women that had given her life and love. Over the years that followed life seemed to glow from the castle again. The family took up the reins of their lives once more and whilst not forgetting the wonderful woman that had been both an amazing wife and caring mother, they found peace in knowing that she would want them to happy. As time went by, Lothíriel began to take upon the female role in the household, looking after the general well-being of her loved ones, but the year she turned thirteen, Prince Elphir chose his bride. A beautiful young lady named Amaldien, who was blessed with both a calm nature, kind heart and a most charming disposition. He wed her not long after. Taking an instant liking to her brother’s new wife, Lothíriel held no grudge when she relinquished the role of the female head of the house. Officially introduced to court on her seventeenth birthday, Lothíriel has always been wary of what was expected of her, but much to her brother’s dismay, is yet to show signs of abandoning her spirited ways in exchange for a mundane courtly existence. Though, in truth, her story is just beginning… Misc. Info Sample RP: A fragment from one of my previous roleplays |
