I really like this whole urban warrior thing, especially since a friend of mine lent me a copy of Fighting Arts with an interview with the sensei. No doubt, martial arts is all tied up with sports now. This is a shame. It's all physical--m arts MUST be spiritual/psychological. What about strategy, wisdom, the senses, survival approach, weaponry, etc.???? THIS is what you would need in an all-out Civil War or anarchy situation. By pointing this out, the sensei has said something enormously relevant, to all of us interested in protecting our loved ones. I read his book and changed my self-training THAT FUCKING NIGHT. |
