How to Roleplay There are many different ways to Role Play, and I shall explain them as best as I can. Role Playing is the act of playing the role of a character, hence the term Role Playing. This can be anything from a human to a werewolf to a living vegetable. On this forum, the characters are based around the anime/manga Soul Eater, and you should make a character to the template given in the template section of these Rules. To RP (Role Play) correctly, you need to use a third person view. You are not to describe your persons thoughts/actions in a first person view, as it can become confusing for other RPers. An example of a third person Role Play would be: James measured the distance and threw the smoke bomb accordingly, a large cloud of smoke soon erupting from it with a fizzing noise. The smoke concealed his location and kept him hidden from any possible enemies. This is a good Role Playing format, as it is very descriptive of what is going on. From the post, you can tell that James used his smoke bomb to run/hide from his opponent. A bad example would be: James used a smoke bomb. Were did he use the smoke bomb? Did he throw it on the ground, did it blow up in his hand? Did he just stand there as it went off, or did he run after it went off. Did he achieve anything from throwing it? These are all questions you should answer during your Role Playing post. Edited by cdf50, Oct 4 2009, 07:45 PM.

Rules of Roleplaying There are a lot of rules that some people like to enforce, but I am going to do them in a way I find that you will understand them. These are the Role Playing Commandments, and should be followed at all times. They are in no particular order, but some are worse then others. Do not commit any of them, and you should be fine. 1: Thou shalt not God Mod or Meta Game (God Modding is the act of being unfair. Meta Gaming is using knowledge your character would not know. An example of these would be dodging everything, dealing an unblock able/automatic blow on some, or knowing an enemies weak point right away. This is a serious offense, and you will be punished heavily if you are caught God Modding or Meta Gaming) 2: Thou shalt not Role Playing in thy characters Perspective (No First Person Role Playing) 3: Thou shalt not use "leet" speak of any kind, as a character from thou manga Soul Eater would not speaketh like that (No Pwning of the n00bs in your role playing. Try to keep your grammar and spelling mistakes to a minimum) 4: Thou shalt not troll (Do NOT insult other people while Role Playing. I do not mean their characters, as disliking a character is fine. But if you are caught trolling on the Chat Box or in OOC, you will be punished) 5: Thou shalt not flame like the fiery pits of Hell (Do NOT go after characters of people that you dislike. This is unfair and idiotic, as your character would have no connections with theirs, and you should not meet unless it is a random meeting, or you have a reason to want to hunt them down. 6: Thou character shalt not be like Death the Kid (Your character is not perfect. He makes mistakes and can be overpowered at times. Not even the Witch Rulers can defeat all opponents) 7: Thou shalt not perform a One-Liner (Don't post something that is only one line long, unless it is in an OOC matter. One line posts are unacceptable as it gives little for the other RPer to go on) 8: Thou shalt not reference any characters from thy manga/anime, thy RP is set in an alternative universe were thy only references shalt be Kishin and Shinigami (This RP is set in an alternative RP, so all main characters, other then Kishin and Shinigami, are not in this RP) 9: Thou shalt not role play out thy sex scenes (Romance is allowed, but no sex) Edited by Radkolf, Oct 4 2009, 08:40 PM.

Rules of the Chat Box/OOC Most of the same rules apply from the Rules of Roleplaying. Don't flame and don't troll. A few still need to be discussed however. Don't get into a fight over rules or god modding. If you think something is wrong with someone’s post, or something is wrong with the rules, ask an Admin or Moderator. Do not take the matter into your own hands unless the matter can be concluded with a quick stop to these rules. Another thing to not do is insult people who ask about rules. These will generally be new people, and I will ban you if I find you doing this. This is a serious pet peeve of mine, and I hate it when people insult the newbie. You were a newbie once too, so don't give them a rough time. Also, refrain from the huge amount of swearing and sexual references. I can take sexual jokes and some swearing, but a sentence with a cuss ever other word is not worthy of being posted on this forum, and will be deleted. Edited by Radkolf, Oct 10 2009, 03:07 PM.

Classes/Tiers There are a few different "Classes" so to speak. They are all human, but some are on one side and some are on the other. Depending on what side each one is on, I will give a description of all of the available Classes. Class Name: Technician Side: Good Type of Attack: Wavelength Attacks, Weapon Partner Combo, Soul Resonance Brief Description: Technicians are humans with extremely high amounts of wavelength. They can be taken in by a witch if they are found early, but are usually taken in by Shinigami, and enrolled into Shibusen. Certain Technicians with an ability to control their wavelength very well may use their wavelength to attack, such as using it to shock the body or using it to block attacks. A more common way of attacking is using a Demon Weapon partner, and wielding them like a weapon. The use of a Demon Weapon partner also allows the ability for the Technician to use Soul Resonance, which dramatically increases the power of the Technician and Weapon. This requires an immense amount of Wavelength, however, and the wavelength of the Demon Weapon and Technician must be aligned for it to be used. Class Specific Info: Technicians are a very broad class, they can deal damage on their own, but are best when paired up with a partner. Their Soul Resonance ability can be used to increase their power, but drains their energy fairly quickly. They are, overall, the most balanced class out of all of the Classes. Class Name: Witch Side: Evil Type of Attack: Magic, Familiar Attacks Brief Description: Witches are humans who use magic to do their bidding, and usually are connected with a familiar, though not all Witches are. Witches are usually based around 1 certain animal, but may also be based around an Element, a certain aspect, or something else of this nature. Most Witches are curious by nature, and this is the reason for the massive amount of experiments that are performed outside of Majotoshi. Their are male Witches, though most male Witches are shunned by the female Witches. Class Specific Info: Witches are based around magic and assistant pets, so they are usually more long ranged and tactical based. Some Witches may be fluent in close combat, but their close combat abilities are lacking if not trained hard. They are a strategic Class, giving them a very big edge over less intelligent beings. Class Name: Demon Weapons Side: Good/Evil Type of Attack: Weapon Transformation, Soul Resonance, Soul Devour Brief Description: Demon Weapons are humans that have the ability to transform into weapons, and they can also turn certain body parts into weapons. This gives them an edge over a normal human, but they are most deadly when paired up with a Technician. Demon Weapons can range from swords to axes to arrows to guns, and the type of weapon a Demon Weapon becomes is based on genetics. If there is a Demon Weapon in your family, there is a chance that you may become one as well. Class Specific Info: Demon Weapons are practically useless by themselves, as they could easily be taken down by a Witch. However, when paired with a Technician, the Demon Weapon gains a huge boost in power, as they can focus on being a weapon instead of being a human and weapon at the same time. Soul Resonance increases all of their abilities to astounding heights, but drains a lot of energy. Class Name: Witch Experiment Side: Good/Evil Type of Attack: Physical Attacks, Limited Magic Brief Description: Witch Experiments are humans that have undergone experimentation by the extremely curious and evil Witches. They are usually located near Majotoshi, but may break off and wander the Nevada Desert. Not all Witch Experiments are evil, as some might be good. No matter their affiliation, Experiments can hold themselves in combat, as some even have special abilities, such as limited magic abilities or increased physical strength. Most experiments that live are either a success that are then enslaved by the Witch that made them, or a failed experiment that was disposed of or escaped. Class Specific Info: These are the brawlers and bruises of the Classes. Most Witch Experiments deal with altering the physical capabilities of the human, as granting a human the use of magic can be extremely challenging, and only allows them a very small use of Magic. This gives them the ability to be formidable close combat specialists, but hinders their ability to deal with long range foes, such as the Witches. This is a major reason they are enslaved if the experiment is a success. Now that we have the Classes out of the way, let’s move onto the tiers. Each Class has their own Tier of ranking. This will usually go from 1 to 3, but may range depending on the Class. Witch Tier Novice Witch: These are witches that are still in the Academy, and are training to become full fledged Witches. Their ability to control magic is limited, and their magic is generally not very specialized yet. Witch: These are Witches who have graduated from the Academy, They are equal to, and usually, fairly stronger than most of the other class’s 2nd Tiers. They possess a large control of magic and are usually specialized, but don't have to be Witch Mistress: This is the top of the line Witch, and only a few people have ever been awarded this title. These are the Witches who have dealt with the most difficult of hardships, and are extremely powerful. They possess an almost limitless amount of control over magic, and are indefinitely specialized in one area of magic. The only people higher in Witch Society are the Witch Rulers, but they will be discussed later, as they are not a Tier of their own. Technician Tier: 1-Star Technician: 1-Star Technicians are usually still in Shibusen, and are usually children. Though they are more powerful than most other First Tiers when paired with a Demon Weapon, they cannot control their wavelength well, and using Soul Resonance is nearly impossible. 2-Star Technician: These are middle technicians, and are sometimes teachers. They possess at least some ability to control wavelength, and can use Soul Resonance when paired with a Demon Weapon, though it may only be maintained for a small amount of time. They are usually able to do a few wavelength attacks, and if specialized in wavelength, they may be able to do quite a bit. 3-Star Technician: These Technicians are the strongest of all, and most 3-Star Technicians are paired with a Death Scythe. They are extremely powerful, and are usually very fluent with their wavelengths, the minimum being not so good with it. They are extremely powerful with their Demon Weapon partner, and Soul Resonance can be held for extended periods of time. They may also make a few of their own special abilities and techniques. Demon Weapon Tier: Human Weapon: These are weapons that are used by most new students to Shibusen. They are fairly weak, and can not correspond with their partner’s wavelength to do Soul Resonance. Demon Weapon: Demon Weapons are used by more advanced students and some teachers, and can be used for Soul Resonance, though it puts a huge strain on the weapon. They can hold their own in a fight as well. Death Scythe: Death Scythes are extremely powerful Demon Weapons, and have the ability to use Soul Resonance while still being able to maintain a lot of control. Some Death Scythes are completely independent, and have their own fighting styles and abilities, even without a partner. Witch Experiment Tier: Failed Experiment/New Experiment: These are people who have been captured and experimented upon, and the results of which are still growing inside their bodies, or experiments that have failed. They are fairly weak, and their powers will consist of very small things, like the ability to harden the body, or the ability to stretch their limbs. Growing Experiment/Successful Experiment: These are people who have successful experiments in their body still growing, or have had their experimental tests completed and are successful. Some of their powers may be increased strength, limited use of magic, or ability to create sonic booms through sound. Godly Experiment/Witch Ruler Experiment(commonly referred to as a Frankenstein): These are experiments were the results have been beyond what the Witch was expecting and are extremely advanced. Their abilities can range from the ability to move so fast they can't be seen, to godly strength. Edited by ShinigamiLight, Oct 9 2009, 09:01 PM.

The Stats The system over here our Soul Eater RP goes like this. There are different stats and they each represent certain things. Strength is your physical power, Speed is how fast you and your reflexes are, Intelligence is how smart you are and if you are a good strategist, Control is how skillful you are with your Wavelength and Magic, Precision is how accurate you are with attacks and defenses, Wavelength measures how large your wavelength is (This only applies to Technicians and Demon Weapons), and Magic determines how powerful your magic is (This only applies to Witches and Witch Experiments). So the stats will look like this on the template: For more information on classes, go here to the classes page. For Technicians and Demon Weapons:
For Witches and Witch Experiments
Now that you know the stats, lets discuss how the stat system works. Each area is rated from 1 to 20. 1-4 is weak in that area, 5-8 is little weaker than average, 9-12 is average, 13-16 is strong, and 17-20 is powerful. There is a 21 stat, but that will only be awarded through special events and on certain occasions. A 21 in a stat is as high as it goes, and having a 21 means that you are extremely powerful in that ability. If you have 21 in Strength, you could demolish buildings with punches, if you have 21 in Speed your Techniquements are so fast they cannot be seen, if you have 21 in Intelligence, you have extreme knowledge and can predict enemy Techniquements just as the fight begins, a 21 in Control gives you master of Magic or Wavelength, 21 in Precision means that if you had a sword you could be so exact as to cut a hair into 3 pieces, and a 21 in Wavelength/Magic means your Wavelength/Magic Aura is so intense you can kill those weak around you with it. There are 2 ways to get stats points. You can either: 1. Buy them (see the Currency Section) 2. Rank Up your Tier Level At start out, your character can only start off as two Tiers, no matter the class, either 1 or 2. Tier 1- 27 points Tier 2- 42 points Although you have all these stat points at start up, Tier 1 characters can only have a stat with the maximum of 9 points. This stat can be upgraded later on, but at start up, it can’t be more than 9. For Tier 2, the character can only start with a maximum stat of 17. Lastly, no matter what the Tier, no character can start with a 0 in any stat. Upon ranking up, the user gets a stat boost. From Tier 1 -> Tier 2, the character gains 24 stat points, but they can only have one stat at 15, nothing else can be above 14. From Tier 2-> Tier 3 they get 19 and can only have one stat at 20, nothing else can be above 19. You may note that the character eventually ends up becoming stronger than most if they start as a Tier 1 character because they gain more overall stat points by ranking up. Training and Character Evolving There are a few ways of character evolution. There are buying abilities with Souls, buying stats with Souls, getting boosts from events, and doing Development Threads (Refer to Currency about buying). If you are buying stats or abilities, that is Training, while doing events and Development Threads are Character Evolution. The difference is training is when you train by yourself to make you stronger, while Character Evolution is when you come out with your character, and everyone gets either friends or enemies. Character Evolving will be used for the storyline, while training is just to get you stronger. You can gain Souls (Refer to currency) through Character Evolving, but events don't happen often and gaining Souls through Development Threads is a slow process. Training, on the other hand, is making your character better by writing a thread about you training a stat or ability. These threads will be judged on length and quality, and need to be fairly long for powerful abilities. You spend Souls during training, but you become stronger because of it. To increase stats, you spend the amount of Souls needed to increase the stat, and you write a training post that is about your character training that stat. The higher the stat is being increased to, the longer the post needs to be. Edited by Radkolf, Oct 10 2009, 03:10 PM.

Magic Witches can use magic, and it is their way of fighting. Magic needs to be discussed as it has a lot of factors. Magic can be used in a variety of ways, and belong in a couple of categories. The two categories are Animal and Element. Animal Magic is based around one animal, for example, Medusa's snakes. Elements are classified as certain elements, such as Ice or Fire. These can be used in a variety of ways, but I warn you now, if a low level witch is using high level magic and not getting tired, or if you are using a spell that is unfair and has not been approved by an admin, you will be punished. Territory Control When you first entered the site, you noticed 3 categories that the places are categorized in. There is Witch Controlled Areas, Shinigami Controlled Areas, and Neutral Controlled Areas. This is a system to encourage fighting with risks, as each place afflicts how events run. Depending on who controls the place, they will get a bonus or be hindered. It is also to encourage fighting between the two sides. Edited by cdf50, Oct 4 2009, 07:27 PM.
