... Long years out of the memory of even living Aes Sedai and Asha'man, the Last Battle occurred. The Dragon Reborn- some say his name was al'Thor -won, sealing the Dark One back in his prison, saving the world. The world was still in chaos though, the Tower was still split, and Asha'man were still unreasonably feared. Gray sisters from both factions of Aes Sedai tried to reach an agreement, but it proved impossible. Finally, they gave up, and the Salidar sisters went back to Altara and set up a permanent home. They continued to live in the buildings there, but also built new, better ones. There is still no tower in Salidar, just a group of buildings within a much larger, thriving city.

The three factions of channelers squabbled constantly, never able to find any peace, the only good thing was that they were far separated by land. Nearly one hundred years after the Last Battle, the channelers decided it was useless. They minimized their contact with one another, and focused on themselves and the rest of the world. With the Aes Sedai and Asha'man settling, the rest of the world was finally able to as well, returning to their old homes, and for the most part their old boundaries...

William slipped away from the wagon train quietly slid down a small embankment several miles outside of Berlyn. He had done it, he was out, he felt a brief stab of regret at leaving before his training was anywhere near complete, but he had long ago mastered the basics of Saidin, he was ready to move on, yet he had not yet been allowed to test.

He would return eventually, if they would have him back, and if not then he would learn on his own. He wanted to be an Asha'man, but to do that he needed to learn, and if the Tower wouldn't teach him then he would learn on his own.

He doesn't stop, he makes a wide circle around the caravan and quickly starts heading down the road.

Might as well follow the road for as long as possible, I'll have to avoid it soon enough.

Pulling his cloak tighter against the the cold night air he makes his way quickly down the winding road away from Berlyn.

Early the next morning when the sun had just risen above the horizon, William moved off the roads into the woods the sparse woods.

He sat with his back against a large oak tree, though not, in bloom it easily hid him from the road and for the first time since he left the Black Tower, he was able to check his belongings.

He pulled off his cloak and used it as a blanket, both for warmth and to make sure he didn't drop anything by accident. Pulling off his belt pouch and coin purse he laied out out there contents in his lap. It was a measly collection he laied out, he had not had time to bring much.

30 Copper Pennies, 5 Silver Pennies, his fine tipped pen, a fresh ink jar, his small leather bound book where he kept his notes on saidin and channeling, as well as his flint and steal. That was all he carried, save for the knives he wore a about his person, he had been training to use swords at the Black Tower, but he did not own one and he was not a thief. Knives however he had been using to defend himself since as far back as he could remember. His father had always said a man should be able to protect himself and his own. The set he now wore were of a very fine quality, they had been his parting gift from his parents when he had left for the Tower. Though he had not been allowed to wear them during his training, he saw no reason why he should not wear them now he might need them.

He returned his belongings to his bag and adjusted the dagger on his belt(part of the knife set, but not meant to be thrown) and stood swinging his dark brown cloak back on with a single motion. He began moving again, he was not yet far enough from Berlyn were he could afford to stop for long. He stayed within the trees but remained within sight of the road so that he did not accidentally get lost or disoriented.

It has been over a month now Since will first slipped out of the Black Tower. He has currently picked up work as a stable hand at an inn in Camlyn, not the most glorious work but it pays and gives him a place to sleep.

He had already purchased a water skin, and a travel sack which now held his Asha'man coat, and some provisions in case he needed to leave in a quickly. He spent his nights, at least as much as he could, practicing with Saidin, and recording notes on what he learned but the light of the power, but he was always careful not to be seen. He was the only one who slept in the stable so it assent difficult he just had to be careful that there were no Asha'man nearby to sense his channeling. He had worked out several new weaves he had not known before but they were pretty basic, nothing to complex, after all experimenting with Saidin could be dangerous.

Will let his light wink out and released saidin as he heard somebody unlatching and opening the stable doors. Followed by loud shouting and the sounds of a struggle, Will bounded to his feet and over to the edge of the loft but he could see nothing in the pitch darkness, especially not with his eyes adapted for his light.

Drawing his dagger Will slid down the ladder that lead to the loft and made his way carefully towards the stable door that had been left slightly ajar.

As he looked out he saw no one but laying his had on the door to the stable he quickly pulled it away as it laid on something warm and slick.

What in the light! he thought as he took a step back, raising his had to his nose confirmed his suspicions it was blood.

Will shiver as a chill ran down his spin, causing the hair on his arms to stand on end, but as he ran his hands down his arms and took several deep breaths, movement caught his eye in an alley way across from the stable. He it had seemed like a female figure trying to slip into the darkness, it was then he assumed the void, there had been no breeze when he felt that chill run down his spin but as he assumed the void he became aware of commotion inside the inn aswell somebody was raising an alarm. Panic gripped at Wills heart, whether intentionally or coincidentally he was being set up.

Running back to the loft he threw his few possessions together into his pack and seized saidin, he was unsure if he would need it but if Aes Sedai were involved he would not go down without a fight. Sliding back down the loft ladder he slipped carefully out the door and into the alley ways across the road just as the inn doors flew open, and the inn keeper followed by 2 of his strong arms came racing out towards the barn.

He had to get out of Camlyn and fast.

He moved at a quick pace for a traveler without a horse, quickly but not so fast that he might draw attention to himself. He had just barly made it out of Camlyn he had heard in Whitebridge that his likness was beign distrubuted throughout Andor the the entirty of the Queens guards.

Years spent being his fathers eyes and ears in a tavern common room had schooled him well in gathering info, without notice, and the one power merely aided him, so long as no other Channeling men were around.

He lightly checked his coin purse out of habit, Despite his brief work in Camlyn he actually still had less coin then he started with, he had spent to much of his earning making it this far, but he learned from his mistakes. He took a swig from his water skin. He hadn't even been out of the tower for a year and he is a wanted man.

He subconciously checked his knives taking comfort in the fact that they were still there, He knew Saidin was it was always there in the back of his mind, but his Knives where still his first instinct for defense.

Manetheran was still at least 3 days away by his best estimate, he had no more money for an Inn, he would be roughing it, or at the very most, stay in a barn somewhere along the road.

He looked up torwards the sky, there was a storm moving in, he had maybe an hour, he needed to find some kind of shelter, or he would have to make one again, but the last time he attempted to tie off a weave. It had unraveled while he slept and he was awakened by the freezing rain in the dead of night. Though in all honesty he was surprised it lasted as long as it did, he was neve taught to tie-off a weave, but he had observed the master at arms tie off a weave of light before, it didnt seem that hard.

He quickly moved off the roadway and into the trees in order to find a place to create his shelter.
