Hi! Here are the rules for your visit to The Sims Depot!

PLEASE ACTUALLY READ THE RULES!!

Drama:

Please do not bring any drama to the Sims Depot! Remember, this is all based on a Game, and there's more than enough drama in real life to contend with!

Respect and Acceptance:

Again, this site is here because of my love for all creating Sims 2 content. And in the Sims world everyone works together, and gets along with everyone.

Members and Guests of The Sims Depot will abide by the Golden Rule: Treat everyone like you want to be treated. If we do this, then everything should move along just fine.

No member or guest to The Sims Depot shall be discriminated against based on their race, sex, religion, national origin, disability, age, sexual orientation, gender identity, marital status, familial status, political affiliation, or any other reason I can’t think of at the moment.

The Great Debate: Paysite vs Freesite:

I don't really care about how you spend your money. You earned it, so do whatever you want with it. Pay for custom content. Don't pay for custom content. It's your money. Do whatever you feel comfortable with. No one has the right to tell you that you are wrong for paying for CC or for downloading file-shared pay custom content. EA doesn't get involved with this debate, so why should I? I personally use file-shared pay content in my game. I'm not rich, and most likely neither are you, so why should I be made to feel like a bad person?

There is a site that is available for people to file-share paysite items. You can find it HERE.. This link takes you directly to where you can get the downloads. This site is called Paysites Must Be Destroyed.

I will allow you to link to this site to get a download, but only if you first credit the original creator and also provide a link to the original creators download and/or homepage.

Furthermore, this should be the last time that the Paysite vs Freesite Debate should be mentioned.

Age:

You must be 13 years of age or older to be a member of this forum. Not my rules, but the rules of EA and the age rating on the game. My rule regarding this is that if you are 13 and would like to be a member, you must be a MATURE 13 year-old. I’m not a babysitter. And I’m certainly not going to babysit if I’m not getting paid for it.

Flaming:

Definition – Flaming is the hostile and insulting interaction between Internet users. Flaming usually occurs in the social context of a discussion board, Internet Relay Chat (IRC) or even through e-mail. An Internet user typically generates a flame response to other posts or users posting on a site, and such a response is usually not constructive, does not clarify a discussion, and does not persuade others. Sometimes, flamers attempt to assert their authority, or establish a position of superiority over other users. Other times, a flamer is simply an individual who believes he or she carries the only valid opinion. This leads him or her to personally attack those who disagree. In some cases, flamers wish to upset and offend other members of the forum, in which case they can be called "trolls". Most often however, flames are angry or insulting messages transmitted by people who have strong feelings about a subject.

Read this definition and understand it and then … DON’T DO IT.

Forbidden Topics and/or Images:

Adult/Pornography – At no time will conversations of an adult nature or sexually explicit have a place in The Sims Depot. At no time will pornographic images be allowed in The Sims Depot. Anything of this nature found on the site will immediately be deleted with no questions asked. However, you might not like what happens to your status as a member when I’m done with you. This also applies to submitting stories!

Profanity – The use of profanity is prohibited! In all cases, there are other words you can use to describe your feelings! I want this site to be comfortable for young teens through older people, and I'd like my 15 year old son to be able to be a frequent visitor without fear of him learning a few choice words he's never seen before!

Illegal Activities – Quite frankly I don’t want to be involved in any kind of lawsuit. So to the point, if something is illegal don’t discuss it here. If you aren’t sure if something is illegal or not, send me a private message and I’d be happy to let you know if you should discuss it in The Sims Depot.

Warez – "Warez" refers primarily to copyrighted works traded in violation of copyright law. The term generally refers to illegal releases by organized groups, as opposed to peer-to-peer file sharing between friends or large groups of people with similar interest using a darknet. It usually does not refer to commercial for-profit software counterfeiting. This term was initially coined by members of the various computer underground circles, but has since become commonplace among Internet users and the mass media. DON'T DO IT! DON'T DISCUSS IT!

Spam – Don’t post the same topic over and over again within different forums. It’s annoying. This also includes using the Report system to PM me. Don't do it! The PM system works, really it does!

Double Posts – Try your best not to “bump” a topic by double posting in a thread. I’ve been known to do this from time to time so I won’t be a huge stickler about this. But three or four times in a row, well that could be annoying to me and the other members. Plus it looks like you are talking to yourself . Use the Edit Button as often as possible.

Duplicate Topics – Try your best not to post a topic that already exists on the forum. Skim the forums, and if you don’t see something that fits what you want to post, then please feel free to post it. Again, I’m not going to freak out if this happens. And a note to everyone else, you can’t freak out if this happens either. I don't expect you to read every topic on this site.

Avatars – The size for avatars is currently set at 150 x 150. This is larger than what most sites allow. If I notice that it causes the site to slow down then I will adjust this size.

Signatures – I don’t mind a few lines of text in your signature. I don’t mind a few links in your signature. I don’t even mind ONE picture in you signature. But don’t put like 10 pictures, 37 links, and novella in your signature. That is REALLY annoying.

Multiple Accounts – I don’t see the need for people to have more than one account, so that will be the rule. You can only have one account in Sim Trek. It’s fairly simple for me to change your name should you want to do that. Just send me a PM and I’ll take care of it as soon as possible.

So fellow Simites, that’s it for Rules as of now. I really don’t want to ban anyone. But I will if I have to. Don’t force me to. Should you see any of these rules being broken, please use the “Report” button . But don’t abuse this button or you may find yourself as the one in hot water.
