Still Lords The Preta, more commonly called The Still Lords among the other bloodlines, are the rulers of the vampire world. The most powerful and influential of the kindred that exert almost absolute and utter rule over vampire society. So profound is their reach that a Still Lord can be found among almost every major business in the world subtly pushing that business towards an end. While not strictly comprised of people who originate from Asia the vast majority of those who rule over the bloodline itself do. What makes this bloodline so feared is their source blood, the progenitor of the bloodline itself, still lives. The man they call Setsuna is the oldest still living source blood and the most powerful vampire in existence. So great is he that he is considered a god among the kindred. Originally a nameless man from a nameless clan he was exiled from his homeland and traveled east long before a world beyond Europe was known. Traveling along what would become the silk road he acquired a curse in India that would turn him into the first of the Preta who would go on to inspire their role in Buddhism. A phantom monster that prayed on the living to acquire their blood. However the man would eventually find his way to Japan where the Still Lords truly were born. The Still Lords are bound by the covenant of darkness and are the only vampires who never lose their fatal weakness to sunlight. However they have no other weaknesses. Neither holy objects, consecrated silver, water, flame, nor dismemberment and decapitation can kill them. Even atomic destruction is merely a flesh wound to them. The only way to kill a Still Lord is force them into direct sunlight. Death happens but an instant later. The Still Lords command over the night is second only to their vast knowledge over poisons and remedies. Indeed Setsuna himself runs the worlds largest medical firm. Grigori The oldest of the bloodlines, the Grigori were the first vampires. As old, perhaps, even older, then the sands of Egypt no one is exactly sure when the first Grigori was born into the world. Their sourceblood has long since been lost making tracing their heritage a difficult matter. Never the less most Grigori trace their ancestry back to biblical times and the plagues of Egypt. When darkness came they were born from the firstborn sons who in turn turned others into their unholy kind. This was the largest siring of Grigori in recorded history though there have been cases of them emerging prior to then. The most well known, and current ruler of the bloodline is Judas Iscariot. Under his leadership the bloodline has solidified from the wild beasts they once were. Still this bloodline is well known for their more bestial and feral nature. The Grigori are both a wild and cunning bunch. They are adept backstabbers and crazed blood fiends. Though they appear like normal, tan skinned, humans at first their true vampiric form is far more monstrous than most bloodlines. Instead of enlarged canines all their teeth become fanglike, they have claws and the whites of their eyes turn blood red. Their irises are yellow and their pupils white. Some become even more bestial and gain wings and fur; slowly becoming more and more batlike. Grigori's appetites are insatiable and they must feed more often than any other bloodline. They also more readily split into a feral state. Despite all of this the bloodline maintains its organization through a shared religion. They worship god's cruel poison, Samael. Grigori lose their form and begin to burn when in sunlight but only the youngest of their kind die from exposure. Holy relics likewise burn them. Like werewolves holy silver is toxic to them. They rule from the shadows of the Roman underground and exert influence as the second most powerful bloodline in the world. Dominion: Rome, Italy Aspect: Hunger Primarch: Judas Iscariot |

Temnye Sometimes considered the most brutal and ruthless of the Bloodlines, The Dark Ones, or Temnye in their native Russian, are not sired as other bloodlines are. Their origins date back to the 13th century, when a brutal Slavic warlord learned of a ritual for eternal life, supposedly left on Earth by Fallen Angels as they were cast from Heaven. The spell called for acts that were altogether inhuman, and spat on the very existence of life itself. That disregard for all things moral was the exact idea, for to perform it was to willingly give up one's own humanity. Those who incite Black Birth Ritual are given new flesh masks (formed from the best qualities of those they have killed) to hide an inner, true form that takes on the appearance of a particular Temnye's own will and heart. Though they are capable to consuming blood, most Temnye feed off of negative human emotion and amplify sexual desire, making their Thralls akin to clear-headed narcotic users. In general, as a Bloodline, Temnye excel at subterfuge. A common ability for one to be able to meld with the shadows, and elder Temnye can easily dominate the minds of weaker enemies. They are quicker than many of the other Bloodlines, as well as capable of taking very extreme amounts of punishment before dying, even by vampire standards. Physically, Temnye are dazzlingly beautiful in the flesh masks. Each and every one is perfect, every woman curves in places to make even women salivate, every man ripped from a calender. Hair can come in nearly every color, including non-natural ones such as blue and pink. Their skin tone is often an ashey grey color, with variants both darker and lighter, with the lighter appearing normally human (Their average is what many would consider light for Drow), and their eyes are extremely vivid bright. Highly powerful Dark Ones, or those marked by destiny, will sometimes have amber eyes, which is seen as an omen since the first of the kind, and ruler, has amber pupils. That ruler, Alexei Markov, runs his Bloodline like a business. Everything is weighted, measured. Every outcome thought of, every act done with caution. Their center of power is a black marble and obsidian city built right underneath Moscow. This Midnight City is where Alexei rules from his Profane Throne, and dips his fingers in almost every aspect of Russian society, including the mob, military, and high-level politics. Morge An old, but not ancient, bloodline said to originate from the time of Charlemagne but is in fact older. The true origin of the blood lies with an individual whom many believe was the actual Morgan Le Fay. It is due to this that this bloodline has always had a strong tie to the arcane world. To them magic is more intoxicating than blood and to feast on a person's mana is the ultimate delicacy. Though that isn't to say they don't ever drink blood. However they have learned to sate their bloodlust by feeding on the primordial energies of the world and the people within it. This is, of course, just a temporary fix and they must still consume blood. The Morge rule over Great Britain, France, and parts of Germany. However their greatest of covenants, the Hand of Shadows, rules from Paris, France. Often likened to the Nazi SS the Hand of Shadows are the ones who deal with and eradicate threats within the bloodlines. Originally they were tasked with maintaining the masquerade but since the breaking they have eased into a more ambassadorial role. The bloodline has strong ties to the arcane, as mentioned, but specifically draws its power from the heavenly bodies, the stars, the planets, and the moon. Since they are blessed by these gifts they are one of the only bloodlines still capable of sexual reproduction. However the practice is frowned upon except by the nobles. The Hand of Shadows itself is bound by a vow of celibacy (though many break this vow). The Morge are also one of a few bloodlines capable of walking out into the sun with no ill effects however since their ties to magic weakens their physical constitution they lack a strong vampiric healing ability. They are not immune to death by dismemberment or decapitation. Additionally since their roots come from pagan magic they cannot walk on or enter holy ground and are burned by religious artifacts. Physically indistinguishable from normal humans outside of a paler complexion the Morge do gain some unusual traits later in their unlives. Their ears tend to sharpen and take on an elfin look over time and their features often soften with age. Those who are especially intune with the arcane often find themselves blessed with a gift known as Le Fay's Eye. It is a third eye that manifests in the center of their forehead. Normally it remains closed but when opened the Morge vampire's arcane power increases sevenfold. Dominion: Paris, France Aspect: Magic Primarch: Lune Corneille |

Draugr In the day of vikings, there were many warlords who found their way to other lands and carved out kingdoms. One man amongst them is still known to this day as the devil; Turgeis. His bloody kingdom he carved from Ireland was upon a river of blood and a series of sacked churches that called for retribution from their god. It wasn't long before he was pushed out of Ireland, but the call of prayer was answered, if a bit late. Turgeis and his ilk, the soldiers who called him their lord, were turned into something dark. The Draugr, vampires that have the physical power to match anyone they wish, and an even darker secret. The barbarian rage of the vikings that it was born from became a secret of the blood, blood causing rages that would push a draugr to feats that even their strength and stamina couldn't match. They only have two weaknesses, ones that are often hard to find when a maddened monster is coming at you; Piercing their hearts paralyzes them until the object is removed, and removing their head kills them outright. This, however, has a downside. The more that the bloodlust is given into, not only is it more difficult to resist but it changes the draugr until not only is their humanity gone, but their form changes. They begin to take the form of a dessicapted corpse, their forms rotting and tightening in most places. Turgeis himself looked like a walking corpse, leading his people in hundreds of years of bloody raiding until he found his end at the hand of a man history would know as Carolus Rex. A bullet from one of the king's soldiers paralyzed Turgeis when he was about to land a killing blow, giving the legendary warrior his chance to strike down the Devil, first of Ireland and then of Sweden. His followers quickly retreated. Raids decreased, and what was once an outright bloodthirsty bloodline seemed to lessen in number. Hiding, being careful, often times sires of this bloodline teach their childe the need for self control. Giving into the inner beast is paramount. Those that don't put a stop to their bloodlust are often hunted down by their own bretheran before any human vampire hunter or other force can interact. It is often the vampire's sire, or even a group of their childer. There is no room for weakness amongst the Draugr. Not for a single moment. Dominion: Sweden Aspect: Rage Primarch: Karl Sanian |
