HAY I GOTS AN IDEA, LET'S POST MY AWFUL WRITING HERE. =D *shot* This is a Death Note/The Ring (Ringu) crossover fic I've been writing for kicks and giggles for a while. (I don't really try that hard on it. Light's a little OOC throughout. xD) If you don't know the plot of Ringu then.... just read it on Wikipedia. I'll try to explain as much as I can, but.... yeah, very lazy. So just read on and try not to puke. =D --------------------------------------------------------------- CHAPTER I “I want the world to know that a God is passing righteous judgment on them all…I will be the God of the new world.” Light Yagami, Death Note (Desu Noto) Light slumped down on the couch and rubbed his temples. “Light!” Misa immediately sat down next to him and hugged his arm like it was a lifeline. “Light, how about we do something tonight?” “If I’m doing anything tonight it’s going to be sleeping.” Light replied dryly, and wriggled his arm out of Misa’s grasp. I don’t have any time for you. He thought bitterly. Just shut up. “But Light!” Misa protested. Light shot her a look and she grew silent for a bit. But she couldn’t resist a final “Fine,” before skulking away. Light sighed. He was tired of this. He was tired of the task force, he was tired of Misa, and he was tired of Mello and Near. His mind was constantly working, trying to figure out a way to kill them all so nothing would get in the way of him and his new world. Nothing…. He couldn’t help smirking at the thought. But then Misa popped her head into the room once again. “Light!” She sang. “Do you want to eat out with Misa Misa tonight?” “No.” Light said shortly, rubbing his temples again. “Light, how mean!” Misa cried, and pouted indignantly. “Mi-chan invited us out!” “Just go yourself; I’m tired.” “Hm!” Misa remained pouting, but began getting ready. “Light, you should go out with me every once and a while, y’know?” Light ignored her and sank into the couch further. He opened his eyes and distantly began scanning the room. His gaze fell upon a video that sat on the television. He blinked and sat up straighter, still looking at the tape. “Misa, what’s this video tape?” He called. “Mm?” Misa stuck her head back into the room. “Oh, one of Misa Misa’s fans sent it! She said I should definitely watch it.” Light got up and crossed to the television to pick up the video. He studied it and found it was unmarked. He didn’t know why, but the tape… it seemed to call to him. He shook the feeling off, realizing it to be ridiculous, and placed the tape back where he found it. But even as he turned away, he could feel the tape behind him, as if it had its own aura that was desperately reaching out to him. “Misa Misa’s going now, Light!” Misa called, and shortly afterwards Light heard the door shut behind her. He sighed again and sank into the couch. It was then he noticed Ryuk standing next to him, staring at the tape that Light had just picked up. “Ryuk, what are you staring at that for?” Light asked, somewhat annoyed. Ryuk hesitated for a second, and then said, “That tape isn’t from this world.” As soon as he said that, Light suddenly felt a cold shudder go through his entire being. The hairs on the back of his neck stood up, and swore he heard someone whispering to him. He jerked around to look at the tape, but it only sat there as it had before. “Wh-what are you talking about?” Light asked, trying to keep his wits about him. “It’s just a video tape, Ryuk.” Ryuk turned to look at Light. “You feel it too.” It wasn’t a question. “It feels like a Death Note, doesn’t it?” Light said nothing. Ryuk suddenly grinned broadly. “You shouldn’t touch that thing, Light.” He chuckled. “Who knows what could happen.” “What business do I have with that?” Light protested. He leaned back into the couch and closed his eyes. It was just a stupid insignificant tape. Why were they even talking about it? Why was he thinking about it? His eyes remained closed, but he still felt the presence of the tape. It did feel otherworldly to Light, after Ryuk had mentioned it. It felt almost exactly like a Death Note actually. Except the tape’s presence was greater than a Death Note. Greater than anything he’d even felt. It was calling to him. Calling desperately. He suddenly opened his eyes while remaining reclined. “Ryuk, leave.” Light ordered. Ryuk look at Light, then back at the tape, and began chuckling. “This is going to be fun.” He said, already fazing through a wall. “I can tell.” Light did not hear this. Almost before Ryuk had even left, he had jumped from the couch and grabbed the video hastily. He took it out and slowly pushed it into the player. There was just static for a second. Light watched, unblinking. Something suddenly appeared. It was a well. An old well, with a large chip in the front. The pictures changed quickly, but afterwards Light could recall every one vividly. He watched the video all the way to the end. When it was over, Light could do nothing but stare at the static on the screen. Why did he just watch this? He finally blinked, and collapsed on the ground, for he found that his legs wouldn’t work. The video no longer felt ominous after watching it. But his feelings had been replaced with something he couldn’t describe. He sat on the ground, breathing heavily, and feeling like an idiot for letting his emotions get the better of him. He began to stand up, but he suddenly heard footsteps behind him. He whipped around quickly. No one was there. He sighed shakily and turned back around. He gasped as he came face to face with a black haired woman. He couldn’t move as he stared into her eyes, which were half hidden in her long locks of hair. Light stopped breathing as she leaned into him slowly. She forced open his lips with her tongue and began kissing him. Light’s eyes remained wide for a moment, but as the woman played around his mouth with her tongue, he found his eyes closing. He placed his hands on the back of her head and began kissing her back. He had never felt such a combination of lust and fear in his life. He wanted her to leave. And yet he wanted her. Wanted her so badly, in every sense of the word. Too soon it seemed, the woman broke apart from Light, and leaned close to his ear. She whispered something to him that Light couldn’t quite here, and suddenly he was thrown back into reality. He let out a loud gasp for air and looked around the room wildly. No one was there. Light suddenly fell to the ground and curled up in a ball as her realized he knew the woman’s name. He gasped for air and repeated the name over and over again in his mind. He didn’t know how he knew it. Was it from the video? Had she whispered it to him? He wasn’t sure. But the name terrified him. And excited him. He didn’t know how to feel. He whispered the name to himself quietly: “Sadako.” “I want the world to the know of the existence of Sadako Yamamura.” Sadako Yamamura, The Ring (Ringu) ------------------------------------------- Oh, and if you're wondering why I didn't describe the video, it's because, unlike Light, I do not remember it vividly. xD ------------------------------------------- NEXT CHAPTER CHAPTER III Edited by Hickoryholz, Aug 7 2009, 01:28 PM.

CHAPTER II Light stared at his calendar, anxiety churning in his gut. It had been five days since he watched the video. Two days left. After watching the video, Light had done some research. It was an urban legend that had been going around since before he acquired his Death Note. The gossip about it had subsided ever since Kira came into light, but it was still there. The cursed video. If you watched it, you would die in seven days. Supposedly, the only way to counteract the curse was to copy the video and make someone else watch it. That should have been it. Light should have just copied the tape first thing and anonymously sent it to some poor soul. Or even find a way to get Near or the task force to watch it. But no. That woman. Light couldn’t get her out of his head. He guessed that she was the woman who cursed the video in the first place. He needed her. Somehow, he needed to bring her to life. But how the hell would he do that? I’m running out of time. Light thought. I need to make a decision today. Otherwise, I might not be able to get someone to watch it. His eyes narrowed. Kira couldn’t die. No matter what, Kira wouldn’t die. But even as he walked away from the calendar, his heart lurched at the thought of not being able to see her again. Not being able to see Sadako. -0000- “Light,” Misa sang happily. “Guess what Misa Misa bought today?” Light opened his eyes from on the couch. Misa was dressed in skimpy, see-through lingerie. Again. Light closed his eyes again. “Light!” Misa whined. “I’m tired.” Light said curtly. Light couldn’t think of any way to bring Sadako back to life. He needed to get someone to watch the video. It was as simple as that. But why couldn’t he do it? “Light, c’mon!” Misa protested. “Misa Misa got this sexy lingerie just for you!” Maybe I’ll get her to watch the video. Light thought crossly. He opened his eyes again. Misa had left the room, disappointed. He then turned his attention to the video, which was still on top of the TV, beginning to gather dust. His eyes grew dull as he stared at it. He had to bring her back. But… how? How…? “Sada… ko….” Light whispered distantly. As soon as he said the name, a wave of nausea hit him. He threw his hand over his mouth in surprise. He ran into the bathroom and vomited in the sink. Panting, he turned on the water to wash it down the drain. “Fuck…. Fuck…. Fuck….” He chanted quietly, realizing how pathetic he was acting, hoping that Misa hadn’t noticed anything. What the hell was wrong with him? Light realized he could no longer trust himself in front of the task force or anyone else. He was out of control. How would he hide his identity as Kira in his current state? “God fucking dammit,” He swore quietly. This had to end. He needed to send the video on its way and try to forget about this whole thing. He couldn’t hold onto Sadako like this. It would jeopardize all his hard work. I… have to…. He splashed some water on his face and look into the mirror. Sadako. Clear as day, he was looking at Sadako. Startled, Light jumped back against the wall. Fear and excitement coursed through his very being. Sadako. Sadako! As he tried to wrap his mind around everything, Sadako seemed to move towards him. His eyes widened as she began crawling out of the mirror towards him. This wasn’t possible. Nothing about this was possible. Nothing…. Light’s thoughts died off as Sadako approached him. She kissed him again, but more softly and quickly this time. She then whispered into his ear what she had whispered the first time he met her. Then, as quickly as she had appeared, she was gone. Light was left alone in the bathroom, with no sounds other then the water flowing in the sink. He began breathing heavily again, his mind working to comprehend what just happened. He suddenly started as he realized what Sadako had whispered to him. “Use her.” She had said… “Use her.” But what did that- Light blinked. Then a smile slowly formed on his face. Yes…. Yes. YES. Without turning off the sink, he ran into his bedroom. Misa was there, still in her lingerie. Light sudden intrusion startled her, and she jumped as he entered the room. “Light? What’s…?” Misa began, but before she could say anything more, Light approached her quickly and kissed her on the forehead. “Misa.” He breathed. “You look so beautiful tonight.” Misa’s eyes widened, and she blushed. “Light….” “I just realized….” Light started, hesitating. “I don’t love you like I should. I mean, I’m so lucky to have you, but…. I feel like I haven’t been showing you that.” Misa was already melting before Light, and her eyes started filling with tears. “Oh, Light,” She said softly. Light smiled sweetly and kissed her on the lips. “Misa,” He said. “I want to make love to you.” Misa blinked and smiled at Light. She wrapped her arms around him and leaned into his chest. “Light, I love you so much.” Light pulled her even closer into him. He didn’t want her to see him smirking. “I love you too.” ----------------------------------------------------------- Fuuuuuuuuck, I'm sorry Misa. xD PREVIOUS CHAPTER NEXT CHAPTER Edited by Hickoryholz, Aug 7 2009, 01:28 PM.

lol, if you like this you'll really like my usual stuff. I totally just bust these out in like 30 minutes and don't proofread them or anything. xP Oh, and about The Ring, I really hate the American movie. They screwed the story up completely. What people who don't know the original story need to know for the time being is that "The-Girl-In-The-Video" is named Sadako Yamamura. NOT Samara Whatever-The-Crap. She is NOT a little girl. She has always been a young woman in her early 20s.I get really bitchy when it comes to The Ring/Ringu differences, so just ignore me if I constantly correct you on Ringverse facts. xP xD But seriously, the series is absolutely amazing, everyone should check out the original novel and its spinoffs. (In order, it goes Ring, Spiral, Loop, and Birthday, all by Koji Suzuki.) And the original Japanese movies. (Ringu, Rasen, Ringu 2, and Ringu 0.) And the manga based off of the movies. (Ring, Spiral, Ring 2, Ring 0: Birthday.) A little tip though, don't go into it expecting a horror story. It's not. When it was brought to America, they twisted things around so the movie would appeal to a wider audience and they could make more money off it. But at best it's a psychological/mystery thriller, and it really should have stayed that way. And yes, I'm aware that this is a Death Note forum. STFU, I GET OVER EXCITED ABOUT RING. D< |

I realize for people who do not know the plot of Rasen (and most fans sadly don't) this is a little confusing, but I'll explain more in the next chapter, promise. <3 ------------------------------------------- CHAPTER III Light stared at the clock intently. He had watched the video seven days ago at about 20:15. Right now it was 20:10. He was so sure that he had successfully counteracted the curse, and even gave Sadako a way to live again. But there was still a knot in his stomach as the minutes went by. What if he was wrong? He shook the thought away and concentrated at the clock again. 20:13. Light blew air out of his cheeks and looked away. As he turned to the hallway, he saw Misa. It had only been two days. If Light was right… it had only been two days. But still…. Misa looked like a completely different person. Her usually bright eyes were dull, with the slightest hint of paranoia. She only wore a pair of tight black jeans and a sweater, like she didn’t care was she was wearing, which was completely out of character for her. She hadn’t put up her hair like she usually did. She didn’t have any makeup on. Ryuk, who was standing behind Light, chuckled slightly. “She looks like a ghost.” If this happened in just two days because of that- “Oh. Hi, Light,” Misa said haltingly. She sounded tired. “Misa Misa was just going out….” Light smiled innocently, like he didn’t notice a thing. “Okay, Misa.” Without another word, Misa left the house. Light turned back to the clock. 20:16. He closed his eyes and smiled. “Did I do the right thing, Sadako?” Light heard nothing but the sound of Ryuk’s laughter. -0000- Three days later, Misa had left the house again, looking even more deathly and unstable than before. Before letting her go, Light had asked her if she was feeling well. She stared at him, eyes wide with fear, and something else. Disbelief? She said nothing, and went out the door. That was the last time Light ever saw Misa. -0000- Three days later… “…ight? Light!” “Huh?” Light blinked, shaken from his stupor. “Light, what’s wrong with you?” Aizawa asked, somewhat annoyed. “You need to concentrate, here.” “Oh. Sorry,” Light mumbled. He hadn’t been able to think straight since last night. Sadako was the only thing on his mind. “Aizawa, Light’s probably just tired.” Matsuda chimed in. “Yeah, I’m just a little worn out.” Light said. “I’ll try getting my head in the game, Aizawa.” At that time, Light’s cell phone rang. He took it out and looked at the caller ID. There was nothing there. The screen was completely blank. Light raised an eyebrow, but picked it up. “Hello?” There was silence on the other line. Light’s blood suddenly turned to ice. “Who is it?” There was another beat of silence. Then a voice murmured, “Light...” Light’s heart skipped a beat. He could barely keep his composure in front of the task force. “Sa-?” “Come outside.” The voiced ordered, and the call was cut off. Light sat there for a few seconds, still holding the phone to his ear. “Light?” Matsuda looked at him. “Who was that?” Light blinked a couple times, and then put his cell phone back in his pocket. “I need to go outside for a little bit.” He calmly got out of his chair and started towards the door. “Eh?” Aizawa blinked and stared at Light. “Light, you can’t just leave! What happened to getting your head in the game? You run this thing, you know!” Light left without saying anything. Yes, Aizawa would be suspicious. But there wasn’t anything that could stop Light from seeing who was on the other line of that call. As soon as he was outside, he began looking wildly around. Where is she? Where is she? Where…. His gaze finally fell upon her. She was standing across the street. Her ebony locks sprung out against her pale complexion and the white dress she was wearing. Other than that, she looked no different than any other citizen. But she was all Light could see. All he could think about. Sadako… to Light, she was perfection. Sadako smiled as Light spotted her. Light paid no attention to the fact that there were no phones in sight that she could have called him on. He paid no attention to the fact that she seemed to float more than walk towards him. He paid no attention to Ryuk, standing beside him, looking at Sadako suspiciously. Sadako approached him and touched his cheek with her hand. “Light.” She breathed. “It’s good to truly feel you beneath my touch.” She smiled and wrapped her arms around his neck, kissing him zealously. Light returned the kiss, wrapping his arms around her waist. He felt extremely exhilarated touching her. For a minute, there was only her in the world. She was the only thing that mattered. But soon, she slowly broke apart from the kiss. She smiled at Light. Hers was an odd smile. It seemed so innocent, yet there was much malevolence behind it. It was a bit impish, and her eyes had something of a “come hither” gleam in them. “Well, Light,” Sadako said quietly. “I asked for your help because I knew that there was something I could do for you in return.” Light blinked. “Something you could-?” Sadako laughed quietly. “Those people in that room with you. And some others.” She started. “You need them to die.” --------------------------------------------- DUN DUN DUUUUUUUUUUN FIRST CHAPTER PREVIOUS CHAPTER Edited by Hickoryholz, Aug 7 2009, 01:30 PM.
