I wanted to do something a little different with this one, because I'm bored of writing the same rehashing of a repeal. Here is a meta-fictional repeal, with a dash of humor and poetics. I'm not Shakespeare though. :P

Quote:

Repeal Condemn Nazi Europe III

The Security Council timely,

AGKNOWLEDGING that humanity can be blinded by catalysts of anger and shortsightedness, such as war and indeed, death;

Ambassador Eduard Heir had ventured across many lifetimes in a pilgrimage understuck from time. He had seen whole countries destroyed, hatred sustained, love unrequited and peace scintillating at the fingertips of a global community.

Upon his travels he came across a region, one named "NAZI EUROPE". The global community sat by and watched, as the Compliance Commission nailed a gigantic quarantine sign to its international doorstep.

UNDERSTANDING that justice is not blind, prejudice is;

Eduard wondered what had necessitated the isolation? The denunciation!?

MINDFUL of the intolerance against NAZI EUROPE, and its community, as their condemnation never addressed what they as a community had done to deserve a condemnation;

The global population screamed angry choirs of hatred against Nazism for the murdering, torturing and indeed atrocities that had been committed against the Jewish community and humanity as a whole.

WONDERING if a region still has the freedom to use a name without assailment from the World Assembly;

Overtime, Eduard continued to visit the future and the past, but he always remembered the sight of that angry crowd till the day he did not die.

BELIEVING that the aforementioned liberty is a fundamental prerogative of a region community;

He scribbled down a repeal the next day on the back of a napkin, in search of freedom, human compassion, and a proper piece of paper. Even his pilgrimage through time was interrupted so that he could deliver it to the Security Council for its hallowed caucus’s consideration.

APPRECIATING that the author of "Condemn NAZI EUROPE", has rebuked his discriminative stance against NAZI EUROPE and has coordinated repeal attempts in the past;

In the name of regional sovereignty, absolution and foresight, at last the Security Council solemnly repeals the condemnation of NAZI EUROPE.

Will you be leaving the Eduard Heir RP stuff in it? That would be something different all right. You couldn't do that in a GA resolution, but would it be OK in a SC resolution? I don't see why not. I'm not sure what sort of reaction it would get though.

I was originally thinking I would, Sedge on IRC is saying I should drop the RP because my formal language is stronger. I'm on the fence at the moment, seeing as how I'd like to submit something different, and risk voting support for something creative.

We've had two bland repeal attempts already, they didn't work out.

I'd remove the RP. I think it would just freak people out. They'd get to the Ambassador Eduard Heir part and go "WTF is this?".

That's certainly... interesting. Not unappealing, though.

The idea of repealing this has crossed my mind before, as well, as I personally like the members of this region. However, I still strongly dislike their ideology.

As I speculated, I came up with multiple clauses that my memory has discarded, however this one stuck in my head:

"NOTING the World Assembly's powerful stance against intolerance, yet also noting the irony of the World Assembly committing an act of intolerance against those whose ideology is one of intolerance, and believing this act of intolerance by the World Assembly to be a smear on its honorable name,"

Or a form of that basic statement.

Actually, AMOM. That argument was the basis of my first repeal. It was a good one, wasn't it?

Oh. I assume the WA didn't buy it, then?

It didn't pass. A few thought it was clever, though.
