It also doesn't mean that they want to be liberated. As noted, it is a region full of raider puppets and New Earth doesn't stack up anywhere near to DEN or Unknown or any others. If the raiders do feel that they want to be rid of New Earth control, they can just launch a counter raid, and nothing prevents them. There's the fact that this proposal is also factually inaccurate. This could have spent more time in the drafting board. Anyway, I sincerely doesn't hope it doesn't pass; because if it does, it will be setting an awful long list of bad precedents, ranging from "preventive" liberations without native support (who's to stop raiders from trying to use this to stall honest, native-led refoundations?) to factual inaccuracies in proposals/resolutions. Trav, the circumstances in LotL call for unusual action. The invader natives are inactive puppets, and they're not going to ask for our help, it doesn't mean they don't need it, and its doesn't mean they don't deserve it. The Security Council is about providing security to regions, and spreading peace, not turning a blind eye to an expanding empire because their victims are raiders. All 'precedents' are potentially bad, because they can be applied to situations where a different approach is necessary. With all future proposals, we can't follow precedents, we need to look at the situation at hand and judge accordingly. |

Fuck everything I've said. I feel like a bloody fool... here's my official statement... This is a formal statement from the Co-Author of the resolution: Up until recently I’ve been researching both the history of the Land of the Liberals, and New Earth to inform myself on how to vote on this complex situation. My previous statements were based on my findings, as I’ve explained. However upon further research I realize I’ve made a grave mistake. I co-authored this resolution by lending a hand on the formatting, and assisting the author in a last minute telegram campaign. However after a while the author of this resolution fell silent, leaving me to debate my fellow ambassadors on the merits of the resolution. The plot thickens, as I’ve been informed that the author of this resolution, Environmental Rebels, is an invader who raided Land of the Liberals a month ago, and later Impossible Lands. It thus appears as if this liberation is a guise is to protect the region from being refounded so Environmental Rebels has a chance to reconquer the region. This liberation is purely a manipulation of the World Assembly’s administrative powers for the gain of a selfish entity. With this knowledge brought to my attention, I’ve made my decision to vote against the proposal, and will attempt to reverse the current voting of the resolution by contacting those I originally lobbied on false and unsubstantiated truths. In the future, I will deeply reconsider assisting other ambassadors before their backgrounds have verified, and their intentions are brought to light – I urge others to do the same, before falling prey to the same fallacy. Yours truly, Unibot |

We'd asked for New Earth to be checked multies at least 3 times - the mods took their time.
