I'm going to have to push very hard in the last 8 hours to get approvals. Will telegram every delegate that has approved one of the SC proposals. Ugh, if you know a delegate well who hasn't approved the proposal, plead him please.

It's not important for this resolution anymore but for future reference I can call on some of NE's allies to approve proposals. A lot of the region's have fallen into obscurity but we can get two or three more approvals at least. If all of us contacted all the small time delegates we know each time, then we could get a significant number of delegates between us if a proposal is in danger of not making it.

This is at-to-vote, and so far, passing.

I've casted my vote for.

I'm joining the WA again to vote against. Inasmuch that we should be commending nations, we should be positing actual reasons for commending them, not just rehashing their NS resumes. Booooring....

You mean like a specific event triggering a commendation? Like, this region just liberated that region, or whatnot? Something more in reaction, as opposed to accreditation of a long history of achievements.

I think commendations by principle will need to be split between both styles, reaction commendations will have to be closely watched because people can get swept off their feet by a new hero (And the Nobel peace prize goes to...) and acknowledgement is needed for those who deserve it, I can't disagree with the points made in the resolution and thus this 'resume' has articles that are worth a commendation.

And, are the points quoted in his "NS [résumé]" not reasons for commendation?

If not, what are?.. "ADMITTING that the WA really does want to control every nation" and "INSISTING that the WA really does know best"?

Old Man Eloquence brought up a good point in the officialsphere™ , this resolution shouldn't have tried to hide the fact that Todd was an experienced, and well accomplished raider. It should have praised his accomplishments in raiding as well, and not just recognized (or whatever) them briefly.

We need to remember this fallacy in future proposals to come, I'm sorry Topi that I didn't catch that earlier.

I'm going to call this dilemma the "Selective Todd Syndrome" :D

Yelda also had a good critique of the resolution,

"In Summary:

1. On the raider/defender issue I think you should have taken a more neutral approach and praised both of his roles equally. Either that or just stated the facts neutrally and let the voters decide if those actions were worthy of commendation.

2. Some more details would have been nice concerning his "astonishing" acts as TEP delegate.

3. The mention of passed resolutions could have been left out, as well as the videos. The South Pacific Wiki is actually a useful resource so it might have been wise to elaborate on that a bit more."

Why can't these guys share their expertise with us lowly drafters when its being drafted is beyond me, but hey, he's right. :D

Why can't these guys share their expertise with us lowly drafters when its being drafted is beyond me, but hey, he's right. :D
Two reasons:

1. As most of you know, I'm not fond of C&Cs and wish they had never been introduced. My only experience with writing them is the joke ones I've submitted. I knew you guys were drafting this but just wasn't interested enough to examine it closely.

2. If I ever did write a "serious" C&C I would write it in-character. That is, GA style in-character. I knew that none of you would be interested in doing such a thing.

Fair enough.

Though I'd be interested in a GA In-Character proposal, we've been liberated from the GA, so we as might as well make are selves useful to the GA world and commend/condemn those important to the In-Character world. What did you have in mind? Commend Neville? Commend Kenny? (we'd have to get Todd to write it :D) Condemn ..urg. I don't know.
