The new album has leaked a few days ago and is downloadable everywhere. Also soon available in stores. Anyone listened to it yet? I'll buy it anyway. But have listened to it a few mins yesterday. Don't have a definitive opinion yet. Their albums usually need a few listenings to know if it's gewd. So far I like a few songs, realy don't like 1 and the rest is still a bit "not special". It seems a bit easy going. I hope it gets better. I realy like the last one after the laim one before that. So any thoughts? |

If Im being br00taly honest, they havent done anything good in the past decade. Itd be nice to say they still mean something, but they dont. Theyll charge £50 to see them at beat down stadiums, and theyll give a half assed show. Joshua Tree ftw tho. |

Wow you think it's that bad? I can understand that you're saying they haven't made albums like The Joshua Tree. They haven't. I personally don't like "All that you can't leave behind". It's soo much easy pop music. I DO like "How to dismantle an atomic bomb". It has realy great tracks on it. Far more soul in the songs and less peace-on-earth-crap. The new album so far has a feel to it like "ATYCLB" again. Very easy going, not much soul, believe or coolness. I do like a few tracks, but as an album it's not that good. But about the live shows I'sorry but I can't go with you on that one. I've been to 4 shows (2 in 2001 and 2 in 2005). And I liked ALL of them. Yeah they need the old support songs. But some of the new stuff works realy well on stage / live. I've loved every second of it. It's just a shame I only discovered U2 after 1997. I'd kill to attend a Popmart concert and omg a Zooropa concert... *runs off and strokes the darpa chief* |
