Some of you (particularly in the United States) may remember hearing about the Beltway sniper attacks (in the eastern part of the USA) that had gone on for about a month back in 2002. At the time, this was pretty well known. There were two killers: John Allen Muhammad, an adult, and Lee Boyd Malvo, a minor at the time. The former was sentenced to death, and the latter was sentenced to life in prison (although he would have probably gotten the death penalty as well if he were an adult). And now, years later, John Allen Muhammad is going to be executed. Here's an article about it: http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/news/world/us_and_americas/article6910230.ece I personally think he deserves this badly, because he killed random, innocent victims for no reason. For about a month, he made people around the area feel unsafe, because nobody know who he would strike next. Not to mention the effort the pair put into killing people and getting away with it. They would hide in a car with a small, obscure hole drilled in the back, which the snipers used to kill innocent people. (I would know, as I saw an episode of this on Forensic Files once.) And since they were in a car, they didn't stand out and they were able to get away cleanly. I think police found them when they called police one day, and basically told them that they murdered somebody in Alabama. And at the time, there was a mysterious unsolved murder there, but they found a fingerprint, which they traced to Malvo, the minor. Then they eventually found them and arrested them while they were sleeping. They also determined through forensic evidence that the bullets came from their gun. And now Muhammad will be executed for this. I don't feel bad for him at all, because of the horrible things he had done. What are your opinions on this? |

As far as I'm concern, he deserves to be executed for killing innocent people.

I think this is too good for him. I think he should be left in a room with no food,water, or windows and just let him rot. But no, it would be unusual and cruel punishment. After all, Terri Schiavo's death wasn't cruel and unusual punishment.... |
