It's not so bad, from what I hear it's not replacing the regular DSi, kinda like the PSP Go and 3000.
But the PSP Go is a mistake.

Probably this DS model would be a mistake as well if Nintendo doesn't add anything to it. But how's the PSP Go a mistake? Just curious.

I'm on a hunt against the dumb pirated companies, mostly Waixing. Destruction and Chaos is being created while YOU wait!

People don't like the PSP Go because it doesn't use UMDs, potentially forcing everyone to have to repurchase games they also have on UMDs. Make of that what you will.

Still think it's odd that they made their DS (i) bigger.

Whoa! Now that's a good reason! Now I'm not sure what the size of this new model could mean but there should be a logical reason for this. But I still find releasing a new model worthless as Nintendo already dominated the handheld market from what I know, and because of that, the PSP lost value. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Forcing everyone to repurchase their games? The Go is not an upgrade, it's a model for those who don't have a PSP and want digital only. The 3000 is not being discontinued and the games will be sold on UMD's as well as in digital distribution. It's just a choice, like the DSi XL.

Well it's a good thing the DS lite/DSi and PSP/PSP go remain pure choices. I for one don't have the disk space to carry around digital versions of games I buy.

Still, making their new portable bigger breaks the trend of making portables smaller.
