This week will be the 8th anniversary since the tragic 9/11 attacks which is definitely the worst thing to happen in American history. Many lives were lost on that day, and I actually remember the news story of when it just happened. Currently, there are documentaries on this incident and there's also a dramatisation of it too, that I watched last year.

Discuss about the horrific incident here.

I remember 9/11. I was 8 years old and it started out as just some ordinary morning. And when I got to school, I had heard about the attacks. I didn't completely understand it until my dad explained it to me. And I thought to myself, "Who would want to kill hundreds of innocent people?". I didn't know about terrorism and crap like that when I was little. My dad was right, America had changed that day. Thanks for posting this Crash!

I was the same age, so I really can't remember it myself. Although I will say, the airports certainly changed after that, I can guarantee it.
Didn't you read this sig already? Or are you new to this forum?

We will never forget the Twin Towers... or 9/11.

Back when I was in New York earlier this year, our hotel was close to Ground Zero, and we ended up visiting it (well, looking at it from some big business-filled building in the financial district). When we were there we saw the humble beginnings of a memorial being built, although it was being built since a few months (or maybe years) after that fateful day 8 years ago. The purpose of the memorial? To honor those who lost their lives on that day... all 2,993+ of them.

Also, if any of you are interested, here are the flights that were involved in 9/11 (not in order of crashes):

United Airlines Flight 93
American Airlines Flight 11
American Airlines Flight 77
United Airlines Flight 175
Delta Air Lines Flight 1989 (Passengers successfully managed to prevent the hijacking of this one. I'm just including it for reference.)

Please, call me Quad. I do not like being called Quadunit or Quadunit404 as both sound stupid.

I remember how at that day, we were leaving Donetsk and waiting in the train station, when one of my mom's friends told us what happened. At first, we didn't believe that, we thought it was something she just show on TV.

To add in, at that day we didn't watch TV nor did we listen to the radio, so we didn't immediately knew about it.
I finally had the chance to work on the site, so expect something less blunt in, say, a few months maybe (in time for the domain expiration, for sure!).

I was at school when it happened. I went to my first class and knew nothing of it. When I got to my second class, both planes had already hit the towers. I was a senior in high school, yet I cried like a baby. I called my parents to take me home and they did. A lot of other students were making calls to say they either wanted to go home or were driving home. I didn't want to leave the house for like a month. Of course I did, but I stayed home as much as I could.

I was 10 years old (the day before my 11th birthday), and I was shocked!

I was 9 years old when that happened. I still remember that day. I was watching something on a German sports channel when suddendly my sister came down saying that something happened in New York while she was watching something on RTL TVI (if anyone wonders what it is, it's a Belgian channel). So she switched to RTL TVI and we (the whole family) couldn't believe what we were seeing. It was at somewhere around 14:55 CET (8:55 ET), I think. It was on almost every TV channel we had at the time. If I remember correctly, the breaking news lasted for around 3-4 hours, maybe even longer.

A lot of people died at 9/11 and they will still be remembered.

Well I don't remember how I reacted (Yeah, I don't have a good memory) but it was a really sad event. One thing that ticks me off is that Westboro Baptist Church thinks it was a really brilliant thing that God did >_>
