Description

Sometimes we must do something that we do not wish to do, including visiting sites through the highly-criticized Internet Explorer browser. Trident Web Splash is a lightweight alternative to IE that will strive to help you with your needs.
So yeah, Trident Web Splash is a little crappy web browser that I made in a couple of days in Visual C#, and it's going pretty well. I know there are a lot of bugs, glitches, and crap that will make IE half-descent, but you should try it. Here's a temporary link:

http://sourceforge.net/projects/tridentweb/

A better link will arrive shortly.

Note that you'll need .NET framework 3.5. Other than that, enjoy and write what you think about it!

(Note to mods/admins: if you believe this should be in the Computer World, please move it there, OK?)
I finally had the chance to work on the site, so expect something less blunt in, say, a few months maybe (in time for the domain expiration, for sure!).

I don't think it should be in The Computer World, as it's something that you've worked on. Anyway, it's a good start but although you warned us about some bugs and glitches, I've already run into one.

And it's nice to see that the homepage is the Canadian Google :P

Needs tabs and config menu.
Tabs I believe should be quite easy to do, but only poor quality ones. As for the config menu, I can only think of "confirm exit". Any other suggestions?

Overall, anyways, how is the browser? Better or worse than, let's say, IE6?

It's... decent, slightly worse than IE6 or 7, and I am guessing IE7 is the base of the browser, considering the rendering engine.

I'll be making my own IE-based rival to this browser with Tabs and everything, except it'll be written in Visual Basic instead of Visual C#.

EDIT: Ya know what, screw tabs, it'll just be a multi-window browser for now.

EDIT 2: Okay maybe I will do tabs. And Yuzi, his browser needs some competition, right? :P

It's like IE6 all over again.

As in, it's a piece of crap.

Congratulations, you're a complete asshole.

How about some real criticism instead of outright flaming something someone's working diligently on.

alternatively next time you have the urge to say something like "LOL IT SUX I CAN DOES BETTAR!!!", just shut the fuck up and not post; shit like that doesn't help or give any sort of real commentary or criticism, you just look like an ass.

e: we seriously can't add warn to Elite Members? Fuck that. They shouldn't be immune to the rules and the consequences of infractions thereof.

Nope. I am (slowly) building my own browser :)

Okay, ya know what, I'll do tabs when I'm experienced enough.
