I read this http://www.chortle.co.uk/news/2010/04/24/10883/save_our_bbc%21 and think Peter Kay what a twát and not what they are all aiming for, a sign of lost credibility perhaps? |

IMO the BBC certainly make (or cause to be made) some really excellent programmes ranging from the historical dramas to the recent (and currently being repeated) Wonders of the Solar System. |

The beeb should be able to make good programmes considering the millions they extort from British TV owners every year. Personally I would rather opt out and not have BBC and not have to be extorted for their licence fee. |

I think they should go back to the core of what they started out as, a single broadcast station concentrating on drama, classics & documentaries. The licence fee could become a subscription in the same way that independent 'Arts' channels are on cable & satellite - they could probably cut their costs in half if they stopped trying to be the British Webcasting Corporation too. |

I certainly think the Beeb should stop trying to compete with the commercial companies and concentrate on what they do best. Historical dramas, documentaries and news on TV - and on radio, again leave pop to the commercial channels and concentrate on general and vintage music, including classical plus local radio and news. I think there is a place for the BBC on the web for news and repeats of their TV and radio programmes - I do find these useful. I think the web is very useful for expanding on the news broadcast on TV and radio. |

Nearly everything i watch on what is available on the terrestrial channels is either on the BBC or sourced from it. As for the licence fee, i think it is good value really when you consider Sky costs me £33 a month with no sport or films, i do think however they could trim a lot of resources as well as wages to trim the fee back down to £100 a year however at £146 is is around half the cost of a licence in many European countries. |

I didn`t even know they had one in other countries. I thought it was a beeb racket. |

Wow. Iceland .....not got a lot going for it has it? Spending most of the year in miserable winter darkness and having to pay 300 quid to watch telly.
