Its been out a while but i have always avoided it because i use a modified firmware to force the noise margin lower from the dopy 12db AOL set it at. Anyway i put it on yesterday and went back to forcing the noise margin with DMT Tool and i have to say the offical Netgear firmware is very good, i can even host a game on MW2 now!

Mine's working fine as it is, with the firmware to lower the noise margin - same as you I think John - so I'm going to leave "well enough" alone, I think. Too many other things to do! What improvements are you seeing, apart from games?

I upgraded mine recently because I found the Netgear blocksites feature didn`t work. Upgraded firmware sorted it.

Hmm setting the router to work a G only seems to work but that makes buying an n router a waste doesnt it.

It always seems a lottery whether the new firmware will be better or worse. The last time I upgraded I had problems and reverted back. This time everything seems fine.

This one makes uPnP work with the PS3 so thats a good thing, overall the firmware seems much better, it is just a shame in n mode is cocks the PS3 up (well MW2 to be more precise.)

This firmware also works when you are designated as the host in online games. The DG Team one sees all the requests as attacks so you need to keep messing with the firewall settings to get the ballance right. This "new" netgear firmware is deffo better and i am now just using DMT Tool to force the noise margin again, setting it to just over 5Mbit loses me between 200 and 400 kbps depending on the mood of the line but at just over 5Mbit it seems to give the router enough breathing space to hold the connection as the noise margin only drops to about 5db in the night.
