Does anyone know how a 15 year old with no payment method sets up an iTunes store so she can get the free apps?

That is kind of the way we did it but i went to the app store and "bought" a free app, when you signed up to buy it there was a no payment option which then let you carry on to get an account.

Apple want shooting, why on earth the ipod isnt drag and drop ill never know, its a fecking nightmare just getting a song on the dam thing.

I don`t know what drives them to do things like this. They seem to want to control everything :shrug

Yeah it puts me right off, my mate is a right Apple elitist now and he slags Microsoft off to the hilt but every time i have a brushing with Apple i have to say my experience is worse than it is with M$! Beautiful designs and the iPhone and to some extent the iPod Touch are without question one of the best gadgets ever made but the grip Apple have on them is shocking. My mate of course says this is all about security and why Apple doesnt need to worry about virus scanners etc. but Linux seems to say to me that this is cobblers.

Yeah. I guess Apple are trying too hard to control their product identity and their small market share.
I have become very anti Microsoft recently, but I don`t like the way Apple do business either tbh.
I`m still hoping to get a Macbook if I can, partly because they are lovely machines but mostly because of the music software that runs on them. I guess I`ll still use Linux for everything else.

Fair play but there should be a no payment option to start with, do apple think all the kinds in the world have a payment option?

It's the way Apple control everything that put me off buying an iPod! :( Yes, in that respect they're worse than Microsoft! It's a problem with everything Apple! except the Apple Macs are now Intel processor based so you can put Linux on them.

I think Apple expect anyone who buys their stuff to have plenty of money.

Ill be honest now Apple are well and truley on the up i can see a backlash coming their way and that goes for Google as well, i think M$ have bought themselves a little breathing space getting Vista MkII right.

The iPad has to be one of the biggest stinkers of all time, even my mate who is Apple through and through thinks its a shite idea.

I`ve been looking at things Apple recently and I can`t see that much enthusiasm for the ipad. On the Mac forums I`ve visited there`s a lot of talk about the Macbook Pro`s much anticipated refresh and people moaning that the iPad release may well throw the MBP 2010 refresh back and folk want new MBP`s with i5 & i7`s, rather than this pad thingy.

The thing with the iPad is it`s neither one thing nor the other. It looks like a big ipod touch that hasn`t got the capabilities of a Macbook. :shrug
If it was more like a Macbook (with the same processing power etc), that had a touch screen, I could see them going like hot cakes.
