Right... Re-did the layout for the smaller middle and increased the contrast to give a good looking image on the screen - the images were copied from the net and were a bit dull. Then printed a test on A4 paper. Finally, printed onto the DVD.

The good news... The ink and paper settings you suggested seem fine :)

The bad news... The image printed offset by about half the diameter of the disc :(

I'm going for a lie down in a darkened room :shrug

This time I took a blank disc and printed it first then copied three TV progs on to it. Another failure :( :( The first won't play at all - just a few blocks of picture and straight on to the second :)

So next thing is to see where the hardware problem is :(

That's two out of three failures with the new discs - the super reliable Verbatim ones! I've not had any failures with Verbatim before. Maybe the drive needs a clean.

Anyway, I'm trying a Tesco DVD-R ATM just for fun really :shrug

CD/DVD printing perfected - now I just need to get data on the discs :whistle

Hmmm.... Tesco DVD fine - no visible errors. So I now have two copies of the progs - one with a half printed label with just part of a picture on it and another on a non-printable. I also have a perfectly printed one with duff data!!! Think I'll take up knitting again :shrug

I would check for a firmware update for your dvd writer.

It's a DVD standalone TV recorder. I don't think it has upgradable firmware but I'll check.

Just checked the menu and there's "Software Update in Standby" and it's turned on! It's also got "Software Update Search Now" which I've just done and after some time it's said it's up to date. So I'm told it's up to date but just how it works I don't know. "DVB Version: 1.16"

Did a couple of discs today. Tweaking the print settings a little each time.
Both discs printed well. The first came out a little wet. The second one was better.

Gina my CD prints have gone pear shaped. I went to print a disc and the image wasn`t placed correctly on the disc. The whole image is printing onto a corner section of the disc (showing where the center hole is in the image)? My printer got knocked off the table and I`m wondering if that has caused it. From the look of it though It seems the driver isn`t working properly?
Maybe there`s been a print driver update that has screwed things up. Is yours still printing discs ok Gina?

I had the same thing a while back and haven't tried since but hoping to get around to looking at it again soon. Storm damage repairs and a few other outdoor jobs are taking precedence today. Plus meals etc. :lol

Sitting down with a mug of coffee now :)
