Uff. I have had no trouble with mine, but Col had to send his back after it was playing up. They did something or other to it and he`s got it back now, but has no confidence in it. He needs it for work so he relies on it. |

Taken some photos of the snow with my mobile phone (Tocco Lite) and been trying to get them into a computer. Without any success so far!! First I connected it to my AMD64 running Mint with it's USB cable. Recognised the power connection but no data. Then did the same with my MacBook - same result! I then tried Bluetooth with the Macbook. I managed to get them to pair and connect but whatever I tried I couldn't get it to transfer any photos. I got to the Send by Bluetooth from the files menu on the phone but after selecting one or all photos it just said Done but no sign of any phone photos on the MacBook. I tried clicking on Done - that just exited the dialog. No doubt I've got the instruction manual for the phone somewhere... But I can't see what I was doing wrong. Been through all the menus in case something needed setting up but found nothing.I've used both USB and Bluetooth to copy photos from phones and cameras in the past and got it working. |

Hang on I have mine working with the Macbook (and Mint I think?).... Have you got a security setting on the phone that is not allowing transfer? I do it via Bluetooth from the Mac... 1. Click on the Bluetooth icon in the Mac Menu 2. Click Browse Device 3. Select your phone (GT-S5230) |

Thanks Trev. Thought it should be simple. Hmm... Don't know why I didn't get that earlier. Got a bit further - can see the phone folders on the Mac but the My Photos folder shows empty. |

The problem is the Tocco isn`t very user friendly. I think you`ll need to make the pics visible to bluetooth. There is a setting on the phone. Navigate to where your pics are and press "More". Now scroll down to the bottom of the list (Delete, Rename, List by, etc) you`ll find Bluetooth visibility, where you can hide or unhide your pics for Bluetooth. Also theres a Protection option where you can unlock the pics. |

It doesn't have "Bluetooth visibility" but "Send via Bluetooth" which I tried, without success. |

This is interesting. It works the other way. I tried dragging an image file from Finder and dropping into the Tocco window on the Mac and it copied it to the phone. It's there amongst my other photos. And that file's name appears in the Tocco window in Bluetooth on the Mac but all on it's own!

I've found "Bluetooth visibility" and it says the photo IS visible to Bluetooth. |

Ahhhh.... That turns visibility on for that one photo. AND... it's there to "Get" AND I've "got" it transferred to the Mac hooray!! Progress! But do you have to do that for every individual photo? I have 35 I want to transfer over. Also, what about USB? |

Not sure if there is a setting to default all photos to be visible or maybe you can set that to the whole folder? Haven't tried usb yet. |

I haven't found a default setting and there isn't a visibility option on folders - only on individual files. Looks like the Tocco Lite has a few shortcomings. Fine for voice and text calls though. Yes, I do have a "proper" camera, it's just that I've mislaid the battery charger and the spare battery! |

I don`t really get on with mine I must say. The texting system is a pain. Predictive seems to offer duff words that you have to scroll through to get to the word you want. If you lose signal when sending a text, it shuts down messaging! You have to re open messaging and go to your outbox to resend the message. (if you don`t the messages stay pending. Theres no auto retry). I have lost count of how many times I have accidentally rung someone because the phone has unlocked in my pocket. (I guess this a touch screen problem foe everyone where the unlock is on screen). I want a new phone, but cant seem to find the right one. |

i think it is a resistive screen problem more than owt mate, if you have a dabble on an iphone or an android phone with a capacitve screen its in a different league. If you buy an Android phone you are pretty much getting the same thing accross the board, only the styling of the handset is different. I bought a Defy cos of the water, dust and shock resistance more than owt but you can root it then pretty much do what you want, mine is running at much lower voltages now and i have had it running at 1.2Ghz with no problems, i run it at 1GHz with a lower voltage though for battery life. If you like to mess and play then Android, if you like it to all be ready for you out of the box then iPhone. Both the missus and the youngest though are happy with their Defy and Galaxy Ace as they came out of the box. Bargain really http://www.ebuyer.com/250393-motorola-defy-android-smartphone-unlocked-and-sim-free-sm2813ae7b1?utm_source=google&utm_medium=products |
