I bet you jumped a bit?

How long do you have to wait to get it replaced?

No idea mate, i put in 3 dates for a bloke to come and look at it but it would seem LG do no work weekends so no one has been in touch to confirm anything.

Amazing how often things go wrong Friday night and nothing can get done over the weekend! :(

I had a phone call today from the repair company and they said they had sent off for a part (despite no one coming to view the TV) and that it would be the middle of next week at the earliest when someone would come to fix it. Now i know it is only a telly but i consider nearly 2 weeks excessive and i will not be buying LG again i know that, i really wish i had bought the samsung now.

A power supply unit would be my guess. But it strikes me that they are very well aware of a serious defect and 99.9% of "blow-ups" are due to this. That's how they know what part to order!! :devil

A new screen is a new TV really Gina, the only parts left of your old TV is the case and the board that retains your settings, all the boards that are attached to the back of the screen so they all get swapped with the screen as a unit :)
