Bugger, my CISS arrived but with the air filters missing so i cant use it looks ok though and the extra ink i ordered (5 quid) looks enough to refill the tanks once and a bit so for 22 quid i have got the equivalent of 60 carts. From what i can gather the chips on the carts reset to full when you turn the printer on and off which is natty ![]() I have emailed SVP and asked them to send me some filters. |

Nuisance about the filters - it's so infuriating when an order arrives and it's incomplete or they send the wrong thing I've had that happen occasiionally, but not too often thankfully. An email usually does the trick. The resetting chips is clever And it sounds like a very good price ![]() |

Hmmm SVP have emailed me back saying it doesn't need air filters but i cannot find one for sale anywhere that doesn't require them and in all fairness the instructions stress the fact that they must be used. I think if they fob me off with the next reply ill send it back, i don't fancy knackering up my printer by filling it up with dust. |

No, I quite agree! There is always a lot of dust about however clean the area appears to be. The only place you don't get dust is a clean-room!! And the lengths they go to, to avoid dust is extreme! They quote that the kit includes filters so they MUST supply filters or they're contravening the Trades Description Act. |

Well i got an email back saying there is defiantly no need for air filters any more, still a bit unsure about it but when my inks run out ill give it a bash i suppose. |

I`ve been looking at these CISS They make the Epson a better bet again as its the ink that has been Epsons downer for me. Also the Epson CISS are cheaper than other makes. I`ll start looking at Epsons again now

i got my sums wrong as well the CISS and extra ink i ordered is about the same at 140 ink carts! I matched it up to the printer earlier, it looks pretty stright forwards to install etc. only problem i can see is i am going to have to route it out of the left of the printer not the right cos my R300 has buttons all over the right off it. |

I have a CISS for my HP7360 which I only fitted on Monday when one of the original cartridges ran out. Naturally I had a magenta ink explosion when I tried to use it the first time due to the magenta cartridge not being perfectly seated when I printed the test page. Having cleaned everything up and re-seated it all seems fine now, but I've only done one test photo print so far. Debating whether to get one for the Epson R2400 I bought s/h to print A3, but there seems a range of options - some well thought of systems at 200 quid and some where I can find no useful feedback for about 50 quid. Managed to half empty all the cartridges in it just doing head cleaning as it had been sat for a while before I bought it and needed a few cleaning passes to get rid of streakiness. |

I am half tempted to sit the reservoirs for mine in a plastic tub Mark cos the feeder tubes run from under them and god knows what they are stuck in with, all i need is over half a litre of ink going every where. |

Yuck!! Printer ink is dreadful stuff to get about Bad enough with a small spill but that system is fully equipped for a real MEGA spill!

I read some CISS manufacturers actually recommend standing them in a plastic tub. Seems like a good idea. 100ml of ink in each tank, thats not good if it leaks is it LOL |

I like the look of this one now: Epson Stylus Photo PX700W And you can get a CISS for it. A bit expensive though....I wish it was under £150. Check out the video!

Looks good Except for the price But in most cases you get what you pay for so I would expect it to be good. Thing is I don't think I do enough quality printing to justify that price.

Thats what I was thinking. I don`t do enough quality printing. I just want a printer that prints onto printable CD/DVD`s and has WiFi really. |

Sod it my curiosity got the better of me so i installed it, it meant chucking some 2 day old inks away but given the price i don't mind so much. Installing it was very simple and the prints are really good. The printer is now noisier due to the pipes clattering around and i had to hack a bit of the lid off so the pipes were not getting trapped but so far so good, i just need something to put the tanks in now to reassure myself. |

It's amazing what you can find around the house to press into use Cut the bottom half/third/quarter off a 2 litre drink bottle - plastic milk bottle (well washed) - the cases CD/DVDs came in - and sometimes plastic packaging is strong enough to re-use for another purpose. Otherwise, the pound shops often sell quite strong plastic storage boxes for a few tens of pence.

All hail the Epson R300 from hell ![]() Shampoo bottle ink overflow mod ![]() ![]() Ready for action (note judicious use of the packaging it was supplied in to act as a leak collector under the tanks :rofl)
